Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 77, Clear Rewards

Translator: Silavin

The person who set the 980,000 points record years ago is now a top expert in Dragon Country. If Lu Fan could break this record that no one has broken in thirty years today, it would be earth-shattering news that would shock the entire country!

Soon, the point rewards given to Lu Fan by the Monsters on the hundredth floor were fully calculated, and Lu Fan’s score reached a terrifying 910,000 points!

Of course, this was not the final result.

The 910,000 points were just the raw score. The final score would still be boosted based on Lu Fan’s Clear Time.

The shorter the Clear Time, the greater the boost in score.

Everyone checked the time and found that Lu Fan’s Clear Time was only two hours and forty-one minutes! This time was far less than the person who set the 980,000 points record years ago.

In that year’s major exam, that person spent a full nineteen hours before coming out of the Secret Realm. It seems like Lu Fan breaking the record had become an obvious fact.

After a brief pause, Lu Fan’s points began to skyrocket again. This was the Secret Realm calculating the time bonus based on Lu Fan’s Clear Time.

Under everyone’s gaze, Lu Fan’s points soared from 920,000 without stopping.

950,000, 980,000, 1 million, 1.1 million, 1.2 million…

The final point tally stopped at 1.29 million, just a step away from breaking the 1.3 million mark!

The crowd on the leadership platform erupted in exclamations.

Indeed, the record that no one had broken in thirty years was now broken by Lu Fan, and he had even pushed this record up by 300,000 points!

The 980,000 points score had remained unbroken in South Province for thirty years. How many years would this 1.29 million points record stand for?

Fifty years?

Probably more.

Without a doubt, Lu Fan had created a miracle of his own in today’s major exam.

Looking at this score, Qin Shanhai stood up at once. Shocked and excited, yet also gratified, he laughed heartily, “It seems our Jianghai City has truly produced a Dragon!”

Beside him, Bai Hengjian was also in high spirits. After all, Lu Fan was a student from his Third Academy, and he had achieved such results. After this, their Third Academy would soar to new heights.

Bai Hengjian’s face wrinkled even more with  a smile as he joked, “If Dragon City’s Lord Qin speaks of, could this be attributed to Lu Fan, or his Dragon?”

“Both!” City Lord Qin laughed loudly, “One is a Dragon among men, the other is from the world’s strongest race, and both are from our Jianghai City! Our Jianghai City hasn’t produced a top scorer for several years, right? This year, I can finally hold my head high! Haha!”

At this moment, with his points fully calculated, Lu Fan’s major exam was officially over.

On the hundredth floor of the Sky Scaling Tower, all the Monster corpses on the ground turned into points of light, gathering in the air above Lu Fan’s head, gradually forming three orbs of light, seemingly containing something within.

Seeing this, the crowd on the platform perked up again. [The Clear Reward is finally here!]

The last time someone cleared the Nightmare difficulty major exam, they scored a total of 630,000 points and received two Gold Grade items as their rewards.

This time, Lu Fan’s score was more than double that of the previous examinee. So, it seemed like the three Gold Grade rewards were guaranteed!

At this time, since the battle had ended, Xiao Ye had already changed back to her Infant Form, standing on Lu Fan’s shoulder and cuddling with him.

Great Cataclysm’s fire covering the ground also dissipated as Xiao Ye changed her form.

While stroking the proud little girl on his shoulder, Lu Fan looked up at the points of light slowly floating towards him, his heart inevitably excited.

Lu Fan could see his own score, of course, and knew that he had already broken the record that no one in South Province had broken in thirty years.

With such a high score, the Clear Reward must be extremely generous!

The three orbs of light quickly lined up in front of Lu Fan. Lu Fan reached out and gently waved, dispersing the orbs of light to reveal the true form of the three rewards.

At the same time, two golden flashes of light passed over Lu Fan and Xiao Ye’s bodies, evidently the Experience Point reward.

Congratulations to examinee Lu Fan for successfully clearing the South Province Night difficulty major exam.
Reward:

Level +2 (Pet Level +2)

Free Attribute Points +20.

One Profession Skill Book (Gold Grade Special Item)

Ring of the Wind Spirit Whisperer (Gold Grade),

Crimson Cloak of Flame and Frost (Platinum Grade)

The generosity of the major exam’s Clear Reward even exceeded Lu Fan’s expectations. Putting aside the Level and Attribute Point increase, the item rewards were too antonishing.

Lu Fan had guessed that his reward would be three Gold Grade items, one of which would surely be a Special Item. Unexpectedly, among the rewards, apart from the Special Item, there was even a Platinum Grade equipment!

Until now, Lu Fan had not even seen a Platinum Grade item.

[Just what kind of Attribute Enhancement would a Platinum Grade item give?] Lu Fan was already eager to see the details of what his three rewards were. However, he suppressed his excitement and curiosity, taking them one by one in his hand to check their Attributes.

Lu Fan looked at the Gold Grade Special Item, the Profession Skill Book, first.

Profession Skill Book
Dragon Language Magic – Rage of the Ice Dragon King

Profession Requirement: Dragon Tamer

Level Requirement: Level 20

Description: Upon use, learn Skill – Rage of the Ice Dragon King

Rage of the Ice Dragon King: After using the Skill, cold air erupts in the designated area, causing those within to Freeze. The cold air in the designated area will remain for a certain period of time. Within the area covered by the cold air, enemies suffer Slow and Frostbite (Ice Damage DOT). The higher the Skill Level, the higher the damage and the wider the range.

[Finally, Dragon Language Magic for Dragon Tamers!] Previously, when Lu Fan activated his Profession Characteristics, he learned the Attack Skill, Dragon Fang Strike. It was similar to a Warrior’s Attack Skill.

Lu Fan had guessed that as his Level increased, more Magic Attack Skills should appear among his Profession Skills. After all, the strength of Giant Dragons lay not only in their Physique but also in Dragon Language Magic.

Lu Fan had originally thought he might only have the chance to encounter Dragon Language Magic Skills at Level 30, after his Second Profession Change. He did not expect to obtain a Dragon Language Magic Skill Book now.

Rage of the Ice Dragon King was clearly a Crowd Control Skill. First Freeze, then Slow along with Frostbite. In future battles, once Lu Fan pulls enemies into the cold air, he would immediately gain an advantage.

At the same time, this Skill could also help control enemies, which could form a combination with Xiao Ye’s strongest Single Target Burst Skill, Magma Burst. Just thinking about this combination made it seem invincible.

As for power, it was not actually that important. With Xiao Ye around, Lu Fan did not lack Damage Output. Moreover, as a Dragon Language Magic, how weak could it possibly be?

Lu Fan directly used the Skill Book, and Rage of the Ice Dragon King appeared in his Skills.

Satisfied, Lu Fan picked up his second reward, Ring of the Wind Spirit Whisperer (Gold Grade).

This ring was entirely silver-white, with streamlined contours, as if a wisp of breeze had been captured and forged into this ring. It was beautiful to behold.

Ring of the Wind Spirit Whisperer (Gold Grade)
Level Requirement: Level 20

Agility +77

Endurance +35

Mana +32

Additional Skill:

Language of the Wind Spirit (Active Skill) – Wearer receives the Wind Spirit Whisperer Blessing, increasing Agility Attribute by 35%).

Because it was a Level 20 Gold Grade equipment, the Attributes it added were much higher than the Ring of Resentment. It mainly increased Agility, which was perfect for balancing Lu Fan’s Attributes.

As for the Additional Skill, Language of the Wind Spirit, it could further increase his Agility Attribute by 35%, which was amazing.

It was a pity that this Skill Effect did not apply on Pets. If it could be applied to Xiao Ye, it would have compensated for Xiao Ye’s weakness in her Agility Attribute.

Each person could equip one ring on each hand. Lu Fan already had the Ring of Resentment, so this Ring of the Wind Spirit Whisperer could be equipped on his other hand.

After equipping it, Lu Fan picked up the last equipment, which was also the equipment Lu Fan was most looking forward to: the Crimson Cloak of Flame and Frost (Platinum Grade).

Crimson Cloak of Flame and Frost (Platinum Grade)
Level Requirement: Level 20

Endurance +112

Mana +79

Strength +56

Agility +54

Additional Characteristic:

30% Damage Reduction for Ice Element and Fire Element Magic.

50% Reduction in Debuff Effects caused by Ice Element and Fire Element Magic like Freeze, Slow, Burn, Frostbite and other Debuff Effects.

Additional Skill: Ice and Fire Control (Passive Skill) – Increases power of Ice Element and Fire Element Skills of self and Pet by 30%.

Even though he had already imagined that the Attributes of a Platinum Grade equipment would certainly surpass a Gold Grade one by a large margin, when he saw such an incredible Attribute Panel, Lu Fan could not help but still be taken aback.

This was the first time Lu Fan had seen equipment that added to all four Attributes, a full two hundred total points to all four Attributes!

The Attribute points added by this cloak alone could almost double an ordinary person’s Attributes.

[Platinum Grade is truly terrifying indeed!]

That also was not even the most incredible part of this Platinum Grade equipment. The most incredible was that it also provided an Additional Characteristic and a Passive Skill.

The Additional Characteristic made Lu Fan almost invulnerable to all Ice Element and Fire Element Magic. The Additional Skill, Ice and Fire Control, which increased the power of Ice Element and Fire Element Skills by 30%, was amazing to Xiao Ye.

[Wouldn’t she be overjoyed by this?]

All of her Dragon Language Magic in the Destruction Dragon Form were Fire Element Skills. Xiao Ye could also benefit from the Passive Effect of Ice and Fire Control. If Xiao Ye’s attacks when using such skills increased by another 30%, it was unimaginable.

Moreover, Lu Fan had just acquired the Dragon Language Magic, Rage of the Ice Dragon King. That was an Ice Element Magic! It would also be enhanced by the Ice and Fire Control.

Lu Fan felt that with just this Crimson Cloak of Flame and Frost and his Rage of the Ice Dragon King, he was already qualified to be a Mage.
