Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 76, Destruction Dragon Form

Translator: Silavin

*Whoosh…* The wind howled.

Xiao Ye dove from the sky towards the Legion of Destruction. Wherever she passed, the ground erupted into raging flames!

These flames reached two metres high, suddenly springing up from the ground without any warning. It was as if the ground beneath everyone’s feet had always been a volcano crater, and now, this volcano was finally erupting.

Walls of fire rose up, closely following Xiao Ye as they swept towards the Legion of Destruction.

At this moment, the Legion of Destruction also launched their attack.

On the ground, the Undead Knights and Undead Swordsmen charged towards Xiao Ye. They hardly had a brain, and acted as if they did not know they could not reach Xiao Ye, who was up in the sky. They just charged forward blindly.

Soon, these two types of Monsters were enveloped by Xiao Ye’s Great Cataclysm. Under the raging fire, eerie roars rang out as the Undead Knights and Undead Swordsmen were instantly incinerated. They melted into flowing magma, like the ground beneath them.

The Undead Archers and Undead Mages on the flanks had the ability to attack airborne targets. However, although their attacks were wrapped in death energy and shot towards Xiao Ye like raindrops, they were completely incinerated by the flames enveloping Xiao Ye before they could reach her.

This level of attack was completely blocked by the flames that appeared on Xiao Ye’s body when she released her Skill. Moreover, Xiao Ye’s Endurance and Mana Attributes were now extremely high. Even if these small fry Bosses’ attacks landed on her, what damage could they possibly do?

In the blink of an eye, Xiao Ye had swept across the sky, spreading the flames from the Great Cataclysm across every inch of land occupied by the Legion of Destruction.

Empowered by her super high Mana Attribute of 7200 points, Great Cataclysm was like a Forbidden Spell. Even though the Monsters below were Terror Grade and Nightmare Grade Bosses, they simply could not resist it.

The Undead Archers and Undead Mages were almost instantly turned into Experience Points flowing into Lu Fan and Xiao Ye’s bodies the moment they were enveloped by the flames.

The Undead Guards and Guard Captains with slightly Higher Attributes only managed to hold on for a moment before collapsing with helpless whimpers.

Wherever Xiao Ye passed, the Legion of Destruction was nearly wiped out, leaving only the Apocalyptic Headless Four Knights and the World Destroyer Emperor. Only they were able to endure Great Cataclysm for a bit longer.

However, all they could do was hold on for a moment longer…

Within the flames of Great Cataclysm, there was also the Resentment Qi produced by the Resentment Aura. Even if the World Destroyer Emperor and the Apocalyptic Headless Four Knights did not die immediately, they were covered in various Debuffs, and their Attributes had plummeted.

These five remaining Bosses naturally did not sit idly waiting for death. Especially the World Destroyer Emperor, who had been sitting majestically on its iron throne. Once caught in Great Cataclysm, how could it remain seated?

It immediately stood up, pulling out the great sword behind it, and fiercely slashed upwards.

A gloomy white slash suddenly formed, chasing after Xiao Ye in the sky.

The Apocalyptic Headless Four Knights followed closely behind. Although they appeared to be specialised in Close Combat, they were proficient in both Magic and Martial Arts, easily unleashing Sword Qi imbued with Magic.

Instantly, several attacks flew out in succession, bombarding Xiao Ye.

Lu Fan was not worried about this at all, because although Xiao Ye’s Agility Attribute was the lowest, after being enhanced by Dragon Encouragement, it had now reached a terrifying 2700 points or so.

Meanwhile, the five Bosses were afflicted with various Debuffs, their Agility Attributes had been severely weakened. Compared to Xiao Ye, the difference was like Heaven and Earth.

Sure enough, Xiao Ye was incredibly agile in mid-air, suddenly flying in two zigzag lines, easily dodging the Bosses’ attacks.

At the same time, after releasing Great Cataclysm, Xiao Ye turned back in mid-air, seeming to think that these five ants on the ground were not dying from her Skill. She saw their daring attack at her as an extremely disrespectful behaviour!

For such insects that offended her, Xiao Ye did not mind crushing them thoroughly.

Xiao Ye’s speed was extremely fast, turning back, diving, and smashing down hard, all in one fluid motion.

In an instant, Xiao Ye had stepped into the flames of Great Cataclysm, using her enormous body to stomp on the World Destroyer Emperor with one foot.

Following that, Xiao Ye’s wings, burning with flames, swept out, generating a surging circle of fire that exploded outwards around her.

Flame Annihilation!

Another Skill was unleashed, with Xiao Ye at the centre, a mushroom cloud suddenly formed.

The surrounding Apocalyptic Headless Four Knights wanted to save their Master, but just as they raised their weapons, Xiao Ye, who was surrounded by them, directly blasted them to pieces with Flame Annihilation.

Xiao Ye’s Dragon Claw lifted the World Destroyer Emperor and tossed it forward. The World Destroyer Emperor rolled on the ground like a kite without strings.

“Ang!” The fire light at Xiao Ye’s neck became even more dazzling. She was clearly activating another Skill.

Before the World Destroyer Emperor could get up from the ground, with it as the centre, the ground within a ten-metre radius suddenly changed. It was as if an extremely high temperature had erupted from underground, instantly melting the ground into fiery red magma.

*Boom!*

A pillar of magma suddenly shot up from the ground, engulfing the World Destroyer Emperor. At the same time, this magma pillar rushed into the chaos in the sky, scorching the Secret Realm’s boundaries a fiery red. It took a long time before this magma pillar disappeared.

The last Skill was clearly Xiao Ye’s Magma Burst.

This was also the first time Lu Fan had seen Xiao Ye’s three Skills in the Destruction Dragon Form. The power was so great that even Lu Fan was astonished.

Great Cataclysm was a world ending, large area of effect, Magic Damage Skill. Wherever Xiao Ye passed, fierce flames burned, making it a perfect Skill for burning crowds of Monsters.

Combined with Resentment Aura, Great Cataclysm completely turned the battlefield into a living Hell for their enemies.

Caught in Great Cataclysm, even if they did not get burned to death, they would be afflicted with various Debuffs. Who could withstand that?

Flame Annihilation was a small area of effect Skill that could clear enemies around Xiao Ye. Although its range was not large, its power was clearly much stronger than Great Cataclysm. Otherwise, it would not have instantly killed the Apocalyptic Headless Four Knights.

Magma Burst was even more obvious, likely Xiao Ye’s strongest Single Target Skill in her Destruction Dragon Form.

Actually, it could not really be considered a Single Target Skill, because an attack range with a diameter of ten metres would be considered an area of effect Skill for most Mages.

With all three of Xiao Ye’s Skills in the Destruction Dragon Form unleashed, the final opponents for the Nightmare difficulty major exam, the Legion of Destruction, was completely annihilated!

Outside the exam venue, there was silence on the platform. Deathly silence.

Everyone was frozen like statues, mouths half-open, with expressions of disbelief, stuck there.

[It’s over, just like that!?]

The final level of the Nightmare difficulty major exam, the replica of the Legion of Destruction, was wiped out in less than a minute?!

The ordinary Undead troops were one thing, but the World Destroyer Emperor was a Level 40 Nightmare Boss! Facing a Baby Dragon in her teens, from start to finish, this army did not even have a chance to fight back!?

Legend has it that the World Destroyer Emperor had as many as ten Skills, and its Attributes were even stronger than Monsters of the same Level. It was by all means an absolutely terrifying opponent.

However, when confronted with Lu Fan, the World Destroyer Emperor could not demonstrate its strength at all. In fact, it could not even find an opportunity to fight back!

[Weren’t your Attributes supposed to be very high? How did you get one-shot by that Black Dragon!? Didn’t you have many Skills? How did you only manage to release one slash, never using any other Skill!?]

Everyone suspected that there might be something wrong with the exam this time.

How could the Monsters in each floor seem so formidable, yet crumble at the slightest touch when facing Lu Fan?

Even the Legion of Destruction on the final floor could not put any pressure on Lu Fan and his Pet Dragon.

Come to think of it, although everyone watched Lu Fan’s major exam live feed with excitement, what did they actually see?

He was just one-shotting everything. One-shot kills, and more one-shot kills!

Even at the end, the World Destroyer Emperor could not escape the fate of being one-shotted….

Perhaps this major exam was somewhat boring for Lu Fan…

Qin Shanhai was the first to react, taking a deep breath, his expression extremely fascinating.

“It seems that no matter how extreme Old Han’s had designed and set this year’s major exam, they aren’t as extreme as Lu Fan… Such a difficult final level… yet it still couldn’t probe into Lu Fan’s true strength.”

Hearing a City Lord like Qin Shanhai use a harsh term like ‘extreme’, no one found it inappropriate. Besides this word, what else could describe Lu Fan?

The Nightmare difficulty was no different from Easy difficulty in Lu Fan’s hands. He breezed through them effortlessly.

It looks like future Nightmare difficulty exam questions might increase in difficulty, and future examinees might secretly curse Lu Fan in their hearts.

At this moment, as Lu Fan cleared it, and all the killed Monsters had turned into points, consolidated into Lu Fan’s score.

Everyone looked at Lu Fan’s rapidly increasing points, wondering what exaggerated number it would reach.

Now, everyone could be certain that Lu Fan would be the top scorer in Jianghai City and South Province. The key was to see if Lu Fan’s total points could break the hundred-year record of the South Province major exam.

In the years since the major exam system was established, there had been geniuses who cleared the Nightmare difficulty major exam. But each year, the exam difficulty varied, and the time students took to clear it differed, all leading to differences in total points.

This year’s exam was extremely difficult, and Lu Fan had cleared it with overwhelming force. Considering the time bonus, Lu Fan was very likely to become the new record holder for South Province’s major exam!

Bai Hengjian’s heart started pounding, watching Lu Fan’s rapidly increasing points while asking the principal of First Academy: “What’s the historical record for our South Province’s major exam?”

The principal of First Academy tremblingly replied: “980,000 points, just one step away from a million. I wonder if this Dragon Tamer from your Third Academy can break this record?”

“If I remember correctly, this record hasn’t been broken in thirty years, right?”
