Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 81, Roar of the Blue Dragon King

Translator: Silavin

Among the four Gold Grade items, there was a pair of Combat Boots, a Skill Book, a Potion, and a suit of Flexible Armour.

The Combat Boots were brought by Bai Hengjian, while the other three equipment and Special Items were rewards given to Lu Fan by Jianghai City.

Lu Fan had not expected that Jianghai City would not only bring three Gold Grade rewards, but for two of them to even be Special Items.

Compared to equipment, Special Items could sometimes be more valuable. Lu Fan was naturally very interested in the Skill Book and Potion among the four items.

But Lu Fan still restrained his curiosity and first picked up the two pieces of equipment to look at.

The first pair of Combat Boots was brought by Bai Hengjian.

As a student of Third Academy, Lu Fan had heard that Bai Hengjian had an amazing Gold Grade Combat Boots – Flash Spirit Combat Boots. Although it was only a Level 20 equipment, it added a great amount of Attributes. Bai Hengjian had always treasured it and was reluctant to equip it himself.

It seemed that this was the amazing Gold Grade Combat Boots of rumours.

Lu Fan looked at the Attributes and found that these Combat Boots were indeed amazing, adding a total of 120 or so points to All Four Attributes, mainly increasing Endurance and Strength.

Moreover, the Combat Boots also came with a Skill.

Flash Spirit Leap (Active Skill) – After use, instantly teleport to any position within a 50 metre radius. After use, it has a 30 second cooldown before it can be reused.
This Skill was very similar to the Mage’s Second Profession Change Skill – Blink.

With this Skill, whether for advancing or dodging, it would become very easy.

Lu Fan just happened to not have Combat Boots, so after equipping this pair, Lu Fan’s strength soared yet again.

Next was one of Jianghai City’s rewards, the Green Wind Flexible Armour.

Compared to the Flash Spirit Combat Boots, the Attributes added from this Flexible Armour were slightly inferior. It also only had one Special Effect, which was to reduce Internal Damage by 30%, and it had no Additional Skills.

However, the Flexible Armour added a considerable amount of points to the Endurance Attribute, and armour type equipment generally reduces some Agility Attribute. It was fortunate that this Flexible Armour did not.

Lu Fan could also wear it under his clothes, which was very convenient.

With this, Lu Fan just lacked leg guards, a helmet, a necklace, and a belt. His bracers were also only Bronze Grade.

As for his other equipment, they were all Gold Grade across the board, with the cloak even being a Platinum Grade item.

Such luxurious equipment, probably no one else in the entire Jianghai City could match.

After all, equipment, especially those of the Gold Grade, were not necessarily something one could buy just because they had money.

The Gold Grade equipment added about 600 total points of Attributes to Lu Fan, which was six to seven times that of a normal Level 20 student!

This did not even count Lu Fan’s original Attributes, as well as the Attribute Boost from Bloodline Sharing.

Now Lu Fan’s All Four Attributes were all above 200, approaching 300, comparable to when Xiao Ye was just born. If Lu Fan was a reptile, he might as well be a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

After equipping the Green Wind Flexible Armour, Lu Fan finally picked up the Skill Book he was most looking forward to.

Since it was a gift from Jianghai City, this Skill Book should be something he could use. If they had just brought any random Skill Book to fool Lu Fan, would that not be slapping Qin Shanhai in the face?

After reading the description of the Skill Book, Lu Fan was immediately delighted.

Indeed, this was really a Dragon Tamer Skill Book!

Profession Skill Book
Dragon Language Magic – Roar of the Blue Dragon King

Profession Requirement: Dragon Tamer, Dragon Language Mage

Level Requirement: Level 20

Description: Upon use, learn the Skill, Roar of the Blue Dragon King

Roar of the Blue Dragon King:

(Passive Skill) – Attacks are imbued with the Lightning Element, with a 20% chance to Paralyse enemies.

(Active Skill) – Release a lightning strike in front, causing massive damage and Paralysing enemies.

It was actually another Dragon Language Magic Skill Book!

Lu Fan thought to himself, [I just got Rage of the Ice Dragon King. Now, I’m also getting Roar of the Blue Dragon King. These two Dragon Language Magic Skills really seemed to be pushing me towards a Mage Type Hidden Profession.]

It had to be said, Rage of the Ice Dragon King was already strong enough, and Roar of the Blue Dragon King was not inferior to it in any way.

Not only was it a powerful Area of Effect Magic Skill, but it also had a Passive Effect, imbuing the Lightning Element to Lu Fan’s attacks!

It was just a pity that the Crimson Cloak of Flame and Frost’s enhancement to Magic Attacks did not include Lightning Element Magic, otherwise the Roar of the Blue Dragon King could have been even more powerful.

This Skill Book did not disappoint Lu Fan. He immediately learned it, and he gained another Dragon Language Magic Skill.

At this moment, Qin Qiu picked up the last reward – a blue Potion. She said with a smile, “There’s also this Potion. My Father had people search three provinces to find this precious Potion. It can be used in conjunction with the Skill you’ve just learned.”

“This is…” Lu Fan took the Potion and looked at the description. He was immediately taken aback.

Lightning Potion (Gold Grade) – After consumption, increase Lightning Element Resistance by 20%, increase Lightning Element Skill Power by 20%.
This was absolutely a peerless Potion!

As Qin Qiu said, it perfectly matched the Roar of the Blue Dragon King.

The value of this Potion was definitely not low. While the Roar of the Blue Dragon King Hidden Profession Skill Book might be hard to find due to the few people who could use it, its price might not be too expensive.

But this Lightning Potion was different. Among the Second Profession Change for Mages, there was a Lightning Mage Profession.

For Lightning Mages, this Lightning Potion was practically a divine medicine!

Such a Potion was probably worth about 100 million Dragon Coins, and it was priceless in the market.

Lu Fan never thought that such a Potion could be bought back. It was clear that Jianghai City had really gone all out for this reward.

Lu Fan of course did not stand on ceremony and drank the Potion directly.

After drinking it, Lu Fan only felt a kind of thunder power contained in his flesh and blood. He tried throwing a couple of punches and could actually see purple lightning arcs occasionally sparking from his fist as he punched.

As for how powerful the Skill, Roar of the Blue Dragon King, was, Lu Fan decided not to try it here. After all, once this Skill was used, the entire villa would probably be gone, right?

Seeing the school and Jianghai City’s Officials bringing so many good things and money to her Nephew, Han Ke was extremely happy for Lu Fan.

Originally, these people who came to give gifts wanted to leave directly, but Han Ke kept them back, insisting on entertaining them properly.

Over these few days, Qin Qiu occasionally came over for meals and had already become familiar with Lu Fan and Han Ke, so she naturally did not refuse.

When others learned that Han Ke was now a Hidden Profession, Enchanted Cook, and that the food she made had enhancement properties, which could permanently increase some of their Attributes, they were naturally curious. They also fortunately had skin thick enough to stay.

As this lively lunch was about to end, Qin Qiu received a phone call from Qin Shanhai.

After hanging up the phone, Qin Qiu happily said to Lu Fan, who was sitting next to her, “Lu Fan, good news! The teachers from the admissions offices of the top ten Universities have arrived in Jianghai City. My Father has invited them to our home and is now conducting the admission work for examinees. Although they say they’ve come to Jianghai City to admit outstanding examinees, each of them is mainly here for you, the provincial top student. They’re all waiting for you right now.”

“Oh? They’re here early?” Lu Fan was quite surprised by this. After all the major exam results had just been announced. This was just the next day and people from the top ten Universities were already here in person. This was indeed too fast.

Logically, the admissions office teachers should go to various places to admit examinees with good scores. It should have taken at least a week before it was Jianghai City’s turn.

Qin Qiu smiled and said, “How can it not be early? You’re the top student of South Province. Not to mention, your major exam stream recording has already been watched by various Universities. Just the fact that you achieved the top student as a Dragon Tamer, it’s not hard for others to guess that you have a Pet Dragon and have activated your Profession Characteristics. None of the top ten Universities want to miss out on talents like you. They’ve naturally all immediately came to compete for you.”

Lu Fan thought it made sense. [Didn’t Qin Shanhai also say that after the major exam results are announced, people from the top ten Universities would be fighting to recruit me?]

“That’s fine,” Lu Fan nodded and looked at Qin Qiu, saying, “After dinner, shall we go to your house together to meet the admissions office teachers from the top ten Universities?”

“Sure!” Qin Qiu smiled sweetly.

Soon, the two finished their meal, saw off Bai Hengjian and the others, and then took a car together to the Qin Family’s villa.

On the way, Lu Fan chatted casually with Qin Qiu for a while, asking which University Qin Qiu would apply to.

Qin Qiu’s major exam results were also quite good, ranking third in Jianghai City this year. She was in the top thirty in South Province.

With her results, she should be able to easily enter one of the top ten Universities. So this time, meeting the teachers from the top ten Universities, besides Lu Fan, Qin Qiu could also take the opportunity to decide which University to go to.

When Lu Fan asked, Qin Qiu’s face turned slightly red. She stammered, “Actually… I have not decided yet. My Father said, it’s best if I… if I apply to the same University as you… so that we can look after each other in the new school…”

“Um… emm… I’ll wait until Tao Zi comes and discuss it with her before making a decision.”

Hearing this, Lu Fan smiled and said, “Uncle Qin said to let you apply to the same school as me? That’s fine. I heard that in these Universities, besides individuals Levelling Up, teamwork is also very important. After all, to enter Dungeon Instances and such, there are usually requirements for the number of people. If you go to the same University as me, we can form a fixed team. In the future, when farming Dungeon Instances and such, we won’t need to find others to fill in the number.”

“Ah!?” Qin Qiu suddenly raised her head, her beautiful eyes glimmering, “You mean, if we go to the same University, we can run Dungeon Instances together in the future?”

“Of course.” Lu Fan said without thinking, “Didn’t we go through a Secret Realm together before? I think we are quite compatible. If I had to team up with someone, I would definitely choose you as my first teammate.”

“This… this…” Lu Fan’s words made Qin Qiu’s face even redder. She suddenly became flustered. After stammering for a long time, she finally said, “Then, I’ll try my best to apply to the same University as you!”

“En, okay. Well, make sure to discuss it with Tao Zi later,” Lu Fan smiled.
