Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 60, The Special Envoy Arrives

Translator: Silavin

If a Dragon Tamer really had the potential to take first place, there was only one possibility – he had managed to tame a Dragon!

It was only if this happened that he could stand out from the talented candidates in South Province’s major exam and take first place. Otherwise, how could someone with the known useless Profession, Dragon Tamer, be valued so highly by Qin Shanhai?

Everyone thought of this possibility and looked towards Bai Hengjian.

If this Dragon Tamer from his Jianghai Third Academy really had a Dragon, it would be shocking news for the whole country, no, the whole world!

However, seeing Bai Hengjian’s shocked and confused expression, it was clear he did not know about this either.

Thus, everyone could only look towards Qin Shanhai, as it seemed he might be the only one who knew the most about Lu Fan’s abilities now.

Bai Hengjian asked first, his voice trembling, “City Lord Qin, you don’t mean to say… that this child has actually found a Dragon and had managed to tame it? He had managed to activated his Profession Skills?”

Qin Shanhai smiled, keeping them in suspense. “We’ll see how he does in the major exam in a moment, won’t we?”

Although Qin Shanhai did not say it directly, he basically confirmed it to everyone. Lu Fan does indeed have a Dragon.

Immediately, all the principals and High Ranking Officials from the Education Board were shocked.

Everyone adjusted their screen to Lu Fan’s exam live feed, wanting to see if they would truly have the fortune to witness a Giant Dragon’s magnificence here.

At this moment, a flash of white light appeared in the waiting area, and a man in his fifties wearing formal Special Envoy attire arrived uninvited.

A Special Envoy was someone in Dragon Country who carried out important tasks. They were equivalent to Imperial Envoys of the past, each wielding great power and influence.

Whenever dealing with matters related to their tasks, they enjoyed great authority. Any High Ranking Official had to cooperate obediently. They naturally dared not to defy them.

As soon as this Special Envoy arrived at the waiting area, everyone at the table was startled and stood up to welcome him.

Seeing a Special Envoy arrive without his knowledge, Qin Shanhai had already guessed the reason for his visit.

This Special Envoy was not unfamiliar to him. The man’s name was Qian Xiong. Over twenty years ago, Qin Shanhai and he were classmates. They later entered the same University, and started their careers as Officials together.

Now, Qin Shanhai had become the City Lord of Jianghai City, while Qian Xiong’s career had also developed well. It was said he had been transferred to Dragon Capital. Although his official rank was not as high as Qin Shanhai’s, his authority was not less, it was even more if the situation called for it.

Although the two had been classmates, their ideals and personalities were completely different. They could not even be considered friends.

Therefore, seeing that the Special Envoy was Qian Xiong, Qin Shanhai could not help but feel a headache was coming on.

Qian Xiong was always serious and unsmiling. Faced with Qin Shanhai and the others coming to welcome him, he just nodded, then took out his Special Envoy Token and coldly stated, “I am Special Envoy Qian Xiong from Dragon Dragon Capital. I’ve come to Jianghai City to take someone back to Dragon Capital for investigation. You have an examinee in Jianghai City named Lu Fan, a student from Jianghai Third Academy. Where is he now?”

The group of old principals looked at each other, not understanding why a Special Envoy from Dragon Capital had travelled so far to Jianghai City just for an ordinary student.

As the principal of Jianghai Third Academy, Bai Hengjian naturally could not pretend to be mute at this time.

He stepped forward and politely asked, “The child named Lu Fan from our Jianghai Third Academy has already entered the Sky Scaling Tower for the major exam. May I ask why a Special Envoy is looking for him? If possible, as the principal of Jianghai Third Academy, I can handle it on his behalf, and let Lu Fan see you after he finishes the major exam.”

“You? You can not replace him!” As a Special Envoy, Qian Xiong didn’t give Bai Hengjian much face and directly refused.

He looked at the not-so-crowded waiting area and realised he had arrived a bit too late. Lu Fan might have really entered the Sky Scaling Tower for the major exam.

Qian Xiong thought for just a moment, then waved his hand and stated, “Since he has already entered the Sky Scaling Tower, then just teleport him out. Which school is hosting this year’s Jianghai City major exam? Go and forcibly make him forfeit, immediately teleport him back here!”

Such an unquestionable tone made everyone present unhappy.

Although the principals were competing and showing off to one another, in their hearts, they still wanted to see their students get good scores.

Moreover, everyone was already interested in Lu Fan. They had been greatly piqued by Qin Shanhai’s earlier words. They all wanted to see if this year’s South Province top scorer would really appear from their Jianghai City.

With this one sentence, this Special Envoy wanted to make Lu Fan lose his qualification for this major exam? Who would be happy about that?

It was only due to Qian Xiong’s position as a Special Envoy that they kept silent. If it were someone else, these old principals would definitely have started scolding and cursing.

Bai Hengjian was burning with rage. However, he kept it inside. He still attempted to negotiate, “Special Envoy, the major exam is a matter of great importance. Whether the children can soar to great heights basically depends on the major exam. Even if there’s an extremely important matter, shouldn’t it wait until after the exam results are out? I think, even if your time is precious, it would not hurt to wait a while, would it?”
