Chapter 51, I Hope You Give Us an Explanation

Her gaze soon fell on Jin Zhu. The Little Princess was clearly in a miserable state, which shocked Secretary Cui. She did not even have time to worry about her severely injured Younger Brother, and quickly brought a group of Extremistis Country attendants to Jin Zhu’s side.

“Princess, are you alright? Who was so excessive as to injure you like this!?” Secretary Cui was both anxious and angry. She ordered the Extremistis Country citizens accompanying her, “Where’s the Priest? Quickly cast Healing on her, Heal her!”

Seeing her own people arrive, Jin Zhu finally let out a breath she had been holding in.

But as she exhaled, after experiencing such anger and fear, plus being slapped so many times by Lu Fan, she suddenly blacked out and fainted.

This made Secretary Cui and the others even more anxious. The accompanying Level 30 Priest cast Healing and Purify on Jin Zhu as if his life depended on it. However, she still did not wake up.

Secretary Cui was livid. She let the others take care of Jin Zhu, while she walked up to Qin Shanhai, fuming, “City Lord Qin, I think you must give us an explanation for this!”

“Our Extremistis Country Little Princess came to your Jianghai City, and ended up getting beaten to this state! If you don’t severely punish the culprit, I’m afraid it might affect the relationship between our two countries! At that time, a mere City Lord like you won’t be able to bear the responsibility!”

Although Qin Shanhai was also angry inside, he was constrained by the power dynamics between countries. He could not show his rage. Thus, he just responded, “Secretary Cui, don’t worry. Since this incident happened in my Jianghai City, as the City Lord of Jianghai City, I will definitely investigate this matter thoroughly and give an explanation to your Extremistis Country.”

“If that’s the case, the culprit is right here. Why don’t you quickly arrest him and hand him over to us to deal with!?” Secretary Cui looked at Lu Fan, as if she wanted to devour him.

Qin Shanhai was not someone to be trifled with either. With the other party being so aggressive, he had no reason to give in.

“Secretary Cui, I’ve already said that I will investigate this matter thoroughly. Once we have a conclusion, if it really was a Dragon Country citizen who committed the crime, I will naturally deal with it severely. But no matter what, we have our own rules and procedures for handling things. You don’t need to interfere. I think Secretary Cui’s primary task should be to take Princess Jin and her attendants to the hospital for treatment first.”

Qin Shanhai’s words made Secretary Cui obviously displeased. However, she could not say much more. She just coldly snorted, “Hmph, I hope City Lord Qin can give us an explanation!”

As though those were her farewells, she immediately had people take Jin Zhu and Cui Hongtai to the hospital for treatment.

Those from Extremistis Country were quickly sent away by special cars. Qin Shanhai watched them leave, then had his own attendants disperse to deal with the mess here.

The fact that a battle had occurred here still needed to be suppressed. They needed to leave as little of an impact as possible.

After giving orders, Qin Shanhai came to Lu Fan with his hands behind his back, saying in a somewhat helpless tone, “Throwing such a mess at me the first time we’re meeting, you really are something!”

Despite his words, Qin Shanhai did not seem to be blaming him.

Lu Fan was not a fool. From how Qin Shanhai had intentionally sided with him earlier and even entered into a verbal conflict with the Extremistis Country’s people, he could tell that this renowned City Lord was on his side.

Lu Fan’s attitude towards Qin Shanhai relaxed. He grinned and said, “I’m sorry, City Lord, for causing you this bit of trouble. But this incident really wasn’t my fault.”

Qin Shanhai waved his hand, pointing at Xiao Ye on Lu Fan’s shoulder, and stated, “That little one you’re carrying isn’t something that should be seen in public. Let’s go inside your house to talk.”

“Sure. No problem.” Lu Fan stepped aside, leading Qin Shanhai back into the Bun Shop.

Qin Shanhai had extraordinary bearing. Anyone with discerning eyes could see that his status was not ordinary. However, after coming to Lu Fan’s home, he did not put on airs as the City Lord. He asked Lu Fan what exactly had happened, why he had come to beat up the Little Princess from Extremistis Country, and so badly at that.

Lu Fan did not conceal anything and told him everything.

After listening, Qin Shanhai’s eyes narrowed. A hint of coldness appeared in his eyes. “The Jin Family of Extremistis Country are really good at scheming! I was wondering why the Jin Family would suddenly send a Little Princess to study in our Dragon Country, why they had to come to Jianghai City of all places. It turns out they got hold of a Dragon Egg, but no one could control it. So, they set their sights on our Dragon Tamer.”

Lu Fan nodded, sneering, “Yes, they used that Dragon Egg as a condition, asking me to give up my Dragon Country citizenship, and become a member of Extremistis Country. It would also need to obey the Jin Family like I’m their slave. How could I have agreed to such a thing?”

Silavin: Just saying here first. The nationalist view is strong in this novel. I’ve already toned it down cause even I am getting a little irked by it. Literally, nation over everything (even family), which is something I find too overbearing.
