Warhammer Divine Throne

Chapter 499: Chapter 214, Time for Healing

PS. I saw someone complaining that the protagonist is still too weak. What I want to say is that this is Warhammer, and Warhammer’s premise is about brutal combat, real men must fight in melee. Even the most powerful entity cannot destroy the heavens with one punch, or shatter the stars with a single move, or obliterate the universe effortlessly. Such things don’t exist, they don’t. This is Western fantasy, this is Warhammer.

......

The room returned to calm, seemingly as though nothing had happened.

Mogiana’s exquisite face was filled with ferocity. She raised the Potion Chalice, with powerful Magic gathering in her hand, illuminating the entire room, even glaringly so: ”Since you refuse to reveal yourself, then face judgment!”

The veil of Magic was drawn, covering the entire suite, leaving nothing hidden.

As the light shield swept past the corner bookshelf of the suite, Mogiana’s expression changed, and emerald green energy transformed into chains, shooting towards the corner: ”Reveal yourself to me!”

”Wait!” Laine suddenly shouted.

”This concerns your safety!” Mogiana was still casting the Spell.

”I said wait, Her Highness Mogiana!” Laine struggled and continued: ”Ugh~ Cough cough~ I will handle this matter.”

”What exactly are you trying to do?” Mogiana was very displeased. She glared at Laine warningly for a while before finally lowering her hand.

”Come out, Amelia. I didn’t expect you to find your way here... Cough cough cough~” Laine seemed very weak, almost sliding off the pillow. Mogiana hurriedly helped him up.

From the corner, a girl timidly walked out. With her head lowered, she seemed to materialize from thin air without any forewarning, appearing before Mogiana and Laine. She wore a brown women’s blouse and a blue floral knee-length skirt, underneath were soft boots and black cotton socks, her long hair tied up. Her cute, charming face was full of blush.

Facing Mogiana’s hostile gaze, Amelia stepped lightly, walked to the bedside, and bent her waist: ”Laine... Her Highness Mogiana, I’m very sorry.”

”Miss Amelia, please be aware of where you are. Just for sneaking around and using despicable means to infiltrate here, I can sentence you to hanging immediately.” Mogiana’s tone was like the coldest winds of the Northern Wasteland, freezing the atmosphere of the room completely.

”I am very sorry, but no matter what, I had to check Laine’s safety.” At this moment, Amelia seemed nothing like the shy little Maid she usually was. She raised her head, staring directly at the Lake God Witch who held more power in this country than the King: ”I am truly sorry for that, Your Highness Mogiana, but I did what I had to.”

”Are you challenging me?!” Having listened to Amelia’s words, Mogiana reacted immediately. Her rage unfolded her jade hand adorned with white lace gloves under her silk sleeves, and the ring on her finger shined. Amelia painfully gripped her throat, slowly rising up, hovering in the air, her soft boot-clad feet pedaling fruitlessly in the air. The Lake God Witch’s voice was sharp and suffocating: ”I can end everything for you right now.”

”Mogiana!”

”Humph!” Hearing Laine’s dissatisfied shout, the Lake Witch finally released her jade hand, ceasing the Spell. Amelia landed on the ground, clutching her throat and gasping deeply: ”Ha~ ah~”

Mogiana tidied her dress and walked over to Amelia, her voice icy and full of disdain: ”Considering Laine’s sake, I will forgive your mistakes this time. Now, since you have confirmed Laine’s safety, you may return. The Holy Grail Cathedral is not a place you can come and go as you please.”

”But...” Amelia wanted to speak further, but Laine’s voice overshadowed hers: ”Let her stay, my Lady, I need someone to help me.”

”Laine! There are many Lake God Prophets here, you can always receive care. Keeping such an unknown girl here is too dangerous! She’s not even a loyal follower of the Lady!” Mogiana said immediately, clearly angry at Laine’s decision: ”Now just one knife can harm you!”

”Let her stay. Amelia won’t harm me, I trust her, and she understands me; she knows what I need.” Laine continued, looking visibly tired.

”...” Mogiana actually didn’t intend to truly harm Amelia, merely to frighten her. But matters developing as they did weren’t something the Lake God Witch wanted to see. This girl infiltrating here was a huge disgrace to her and all Lake God Prophets and guards of the entire Holy Grail Cathedral.

Mogiana truly wanted to call the guards and Lake God Prophets outside to come in, capture and throw out this girl, even lock her up for questioning. But recalling the Lake Fairy’s instructions, Mogiana hesitated repeatedly, finally nodding reluctantly: ”Fine, go and collect your things, come back tomorrow. I will arrange a room for you.”

Amelia was immensely relieved, and after repeatedly thanking, she retreated happily.

After the girl left, the room was quiet for a long time.

Outside the window, the sunset descended, the moon hung in the cold sky, emitting an eerie light, as the Lake God Prophet knocked on the door, bringing in a sumptuous dinner.
