Warhammer Divine Throne

”Pfft~” Laine couldn’t help but laugh, the Holy Grail Knight covered his face with one hand, unable to stop laughing.

”In fact, even if our His Majesty the King appointed him as the heir, Her Highness Mogiana would probably not agree. Firstly, he’s too old, who knows how long he would sit on the throne, then there’s his lack of strength, an Elite Middle Tier hardly inspires confidence. Lastly... Charles is a guy who favors violence and fawning from subordinates, he likes to swing a Great Hammer on the battlefield, often missing the enemy but injuring his own warhorse,” Francois said helplessly. ”Of course, he’s still a competent knight, at least he was when he was younger.”

”So the Kingdom Knights gave him a nickname, calling him the Great Hammer, thus he’s also known as ’Hammer Charles’ or ’Hammer Chuck’,” Julius couldn’t help but laugh, covering his mouth. ”Suddenly I remember, your old nickname was also ’Great Hammer’... haha!”

”...I am now ’The Pious’ Laine,” the Divine Chosen Champion said helplessly.

”Hehe, indeed it is so.”

The three spent a long time waiting until Surya and Sylvia completed the registration and received their number plates.

At this moment, a Lake God Prophetess rode a white horse approaching from afar, accompanied by several Kingdom Knights: ”Lord Laine? Mr. Francois? You are here.”

This was a very beautiful girl, her golden hair was tied with flowers, wearing a blue long dress, and holding a white Unicorn Staff.

Laine stepped back slightly, indicating for the Duke to respond.

Francois saw Laine’s tactful gesture and felt pleased. As the Divine Chosen Champion of the Lake Fairy, he perhaps didn’t need to be so polite, but full manners and etiquette never go wrong: ”Yes, what is it?”

”Tomorrow, Her Highness Mogiana and His Majesty Richard will be officially receiving the Imperial Envoy at the Kulona Palace. His Majesty the King hopes all nobles of Count level and above in Kulona will attend the reception of the Imperial delegation at the Kulona Palace,” the Lake God Prophetess first addressed Francois. After Francois indicated he understood, she turned to Laine: ”Her Highness Mogiana specifically named Lord Laine to attend this meeting.”

”...I understand. Please inform Her Highness Mogiana that I will definitely go.” In truth, Laine was not eager to attend this meeting because his status was somewhat awkward.

But whether it was from his foster father Norman or godfather Ivan, Laine learned not to evade. Since the Lake God Witch specifically asked for him, he did not plan to shy away.

”Also, Her Highness Mogiana inquired why you have not gone to reside at the Holy Grail Cathedral,” the Lake God Prophetess continued, her beautiful face stern and business-like, showing no signs of joking or asking for Laine’s preference. ”Lord Laine, as the Lady’s Divine Chosen Champion, you should reside at the Holy Grail Cathedral. Her Highness Mogiana has prepared a room for you.”

Laine, having no choice, returned to Francois’s residence to pack some of his belongings, then entrusted Amelia to Surya’s care, moving into the Holy Grail Cathedral himself.

The next day, in the Majestic Hall of Kulona Palace, gold-plated and resplendent, at the southern end, stood a golden throne with a canopy. The upper walls of the Hall were adorned with stained glass and six murals depicting religious allegories, knightly themes, and legal meanings.

King Richard of Brittania was there to receive the ambassadors and envoy from the Empire.

The King himself wore a golden Iris Crown, dressed in a silk ceremonial robe of black and red stripes, adorned with a large cloak. The exquisite knightly embroidery and long train required three attendants to hold in place. Various gold, silver, and gemstone jewelry hung all over him as he sat on a golden throne with a two-meter high back, awaiting the Imperial envoy’s audience.

Lake God Witch Mogiana was seated not far left of Richard, wearing a golden laurel crown. Today the Lake God Witch wore a pansy-patterned tricolor knit-dress, her stunning face icy cold.

The country’s dual politics were vividly manifested in this setting.

Meanwhile, gathered in the capital, the Great Nobles of the Knight Kingdom filled the left side of the long Throne Hall, leaving ample space and a prominent position on the right for the Imperial delegation.

Laine also entered the Throne Hall. As a participant in the meeting as a Holy Grail Knight, there were no issues. Many nobles merely glanced at him, saying no more. Some even greeted him, while younger nobles cast envious eyes his way.

”Laine Macado, please come and sit beside me.” Upon seeing Laine, Mogiana’s icy demeanor melted a little. She indicated next to her for Laine to sit. An attendant brought a long bench, placing it by Mogiana’s side. Following her command, Laine sat: ”I may have arrived a bit late, Your Highness.”

”No, the timing is just right.” Mogiana turned her gaze towards the main doors of the Throne Hall.

”Please welcome the Imperial Envoy, Duke of Midland, Count of Wolf’s City, Baron Middenheim, Guardian of White Wolf City, General of the Drakwald Patrol Camp, Grandmaster of the Yurik Swordsmen, Convener of the Yurik Warriors, Sympathizer of the Wolf Pack Order, Faithful Follower of White Wolf Yurik, Chief Guardian of the White Wolf Divine Hall, Protector of the Cheetah Knight Order, Lord of the White Wolf Knight Order, Reverent of Yurik’s Divine Fire, Shelterer of the Thuringians, Wolrich Prince-Elector, Boris Todbringer and his White Wolf Knights and Cheetah Knight Order to the audience!” The courtier recited a long list of titles that left Laine feeling slightly dizzy.
