Warhammer Divine Throne

”What a young knight.” Mogiana’s green eyes fixated on Coniel: ”To be promoted to Company Commander at such a young age, he must have remarkable traits.”

”Yes, that’s right. What surprises me is that this kid has already grown to this level.” Laine looked at the young knight with fuzz on his lips, a trace of reminiscence flashing in his eyes.

Among the White Wolf Knights, there is no concept of nepotism. In Yurik’s eyes, the only ones worthy of becoming White Wolf Knights must be fierce, bold, and a bit cunning like a wolf. Only by offering sufficient military merits and spoils to Yurik at the White Wolf Divine Hall can they prove their glory.

Moreover, Yurik emphasizes that a real man must fight in melee combat, so the White Wolf Knights never equip long-range weapons. Yurik also stresses that carrying a shield on the battlefield is a cowardly act, so many White Wolf Knights choose not to wear helmets or shields. They would chant Yurik’s name on the battlefield and charge head-on.

Initially, Laine found this situation a bit hard to adapt to, but when he saw a White Wolf Knight roar Yurik’s name, ignoring a barrage of arrows, and smash a Chaos Warrior’s head with a warhammer, Laine understood that this is an idealistic world.

So before battle, Laine started to frantically shout the Emperor’s name in his heart, and it really worked, with his combat power multiplying.

A cold wind swept through the arena, lifting Aldred’s Red Lion Head cloak and Coniel’s white wolf fur hood. The Duke’s son was also given a twenty-minute rest. The Court Wizard and Escort immediately poured a hot potion down his throat, applying healing ointment to his fatigued parts. Aldred took a glass bottle, tilted his head back, and downed an entire bottle of wine in one gulp, then the Kingdom Knight burped loudly, somewhat ungracefully.

His presence grew even stronger.

There’s a saying at his wine gatherings: If you drink enough boxes of wine, you will see the Lady. If you haven’t, it’s because you haven’t drunk enough.

The battle resumed.

Coniel raised his warhammer. As his leather gloves gripped the warhammer tighter, a will of ferocity and fury began to appear in the young White Wolf Knight.

Aldred’s face was flushed with the red of the wine, like an enraged lion: ”For the Lady!”

”For Yurik!” Coniel’s momentum surged wave after wave, like a giant wild wolf hunting in the cold northern forest, baring its sharp fangs.

”White Wolf battle spirit!” Laine whispered from the stands.

The first to attack was still the brave White Wolf Knight. He moved nimbly, the skull on his silver skull warhammer shining bright, and the warhammer’s head, with a crafty step, went straight for Aldred’s left shoulder.

The Kingdom Knight immediately sensed the White Wolf Knight’s intent. Coniel had chosen the angle of the warhammer well. The Kingdom Knight realized if he tried to use his usual shield-blocking technique, he would be unable to exert force. If he drew back the shield to block, he would inevitably lose the initiative in battle.

Aldred’s eyes turned crimson, and he let out a roar like a lion. The Kingdom Knight advanced instead of retreating, the knight’s longsword cutting a graceful arc, striking directly at Coniel’s chest.

”For Yurik!” The warhammer and Aldred’s sharp sword nearly reached their targets simultaneously, the sword blade slicing through the White Wolf Knight’s shoulder armor, tearing his flesh. Yet, his warhammer struck directly against the Kingdom Knight’s shoulder despite the impact.

”Ugh!” Both retreated almost simultaneously, and a few minor injuries only served to ignite the knights’ fierce spirit.

”For... the Lady!” Aldred roared, his sword and shield combo striking like a lion’s ferocious pounce, powerful and heavy. Coniel was even more berserk, with the longsword and warhammer, shield and warhammer clashing, sparking continuously.

”In Yurik’s name!” A fierce fighting spirit began to appear in Coniel, burning like a campfire on a cold winter night, arrogant, tenacious, unyielding. This fire tormented the enemy and himself. Relying on this strength, Coniel’s warhammer swept continuously, unleashing a furious storm of attacks, with each swing of the warhammer growing heavier.

Aldred began to fall into a disadvantageous position.

”Indeed, Coniel, being so young and already becoming a Company Commander of the Knight Corps, has his unique qualities.” Laine nodded slowly from the stands: ”To grasp the White Wolf battle spirit at such a young age is truly remarkable. Let’s see how well he can control it.”

”...Even from this distance, I can smell that wolfish stench on him.” Mogiana frowned, clearly displeased: ”Don’t you find that all the White Wolf Knights have an unpleasant odor? Don’t they understand personal hygiene?”

”...My Lady, please don’t generalize.” Laine thought to himself, I can’t answer this, because he once was a White Wolf Knight too.

”...I wasn’t referring to you.” Mogiana also realized she misspoke.

The atmosphere turned a bit awkward. In fact, this is a common issue throughout the Human Realm. The Empire is essentially a confederate system composed of multiple countries. The effectiveness of the Emperor of the Empire’s commands entirely depends on whether the Emperor is strong, and Brittania is the same, composed of various duchies. For instance, Francois can ignore the King’s orders, so people are always proud of their own customs and culture, viewing others as worthless.
