Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 1225: Chapter 1223: Quest Settlement and Gold Settlement

[Ding! Mission to protect the target character for three months completed. There were a total of 25 changes during the mission, counted as 25 stages. Now beginning mission settlement!]

[Mission settlement completed. Total battle achievement points obtainable: 7100 (Stages 1–10, 10 points each; Stages 11–20, 100 points each; Stages 21–25, 1000 points each.)]

[The mission has been completed. The player may now move freely in this world, but please note, do not approach the direction of the Golden Pillar.]

Looking at the settlement message that popped up, Gu Xi was a bit speechless.

Wasn’t this just bullying?

If he’d known earlier that points were earned like this, he’d at least have run a few more stages.

Given his relationship with Kro, at worst he’d just have to run around a few more places.

How would it end up like now, where he seriously did only ten stages, and the rest all came from Dragon Slaying.

”What a waste.”

Gu Xi muttered.

Gu Xi’s voice was low, but the Angels who were carrying Kro’s corpse still heard it.

They all turned their heads to look at Gu Xi, their eyes seemingly asking:

If you’ve got the guts, spell it out. What do you mean, ”what a waste.”

Realizing he’d misspoken, Gu Xi couldn’t care about anything else at this point. He immediately shut his mouth, didn’t even watch the final handling of Kro’s corpse, and turned around to step onto the Holy Silver Evil Coffin.

Only after Gu Xi walked far away did these Angels bring Kro’s corpse back to the originally agreed place.

They used their own methods: wrapping it in special shrouds and using a Stone Coffin.

They placed some Angel feathers inside the coffin, then spread some Yellow Sand. After putting the corpse down, they poured cement into the coffin as well, aiming to literally lock the corpse in.

After the Stone Coffin lid was put on, they didn’t use coffin nails or anything like that.

That sort of thing simply couldn’t be nailed into a Stone Coffin.

So the Angels first wrapped it up with Iron Chains here, then after the coffin was lowered, they poured in a layer of molten lead, followed by another layer of cement.

The whole point was a purely physical exorcism.

Once everything was done, only then did the Angels finally feel at ease and resume patrolling the cemetery before them.

It was just that these Angels still underestimated the condition of Kro’s corpse.

Kro was someone stained with an extremely strong Evil Qi.

Although his corpse had been sealed, the Evil Qi was still spreading outward.

These Angels didn’t take the Evil Qi seriously; they could just wait to cry later.

In any case, this matter now had nothing to do with Gu Xi.

After leaving Naluduo City, Gu Xi quickly found a quiet place, opened the Main City Gate, and returned to Yalidu City.

As soon as he entered Yalidu City, Gu Xi felt the surroundings had clearly grown much darker.

He looked up at the sky and saw it was overcast and gloomy; this wasn’t what Yalidu City usually looked like.

”Luna, what happened?”

As soon as Gu Xi spoke, Luna appeared by his side at once.

”My lord, you’re here. We’re sorting through the golden items that were just sent in.

All this Gold is carrying Evil Qi. I’m currently using Yalidu City to channel this Evil Qi over to that little hill in the Magic Plant District.”

The little hill in the Magic Plant District was the pile of blood-stained, Evil Qi–laden dirt that Gu Xi usually scraped up after battles.

The Evil Qi clinging to the Gold was something even Yalidu City might not be able to withstand.

Right now it could only all be diverted into that little hill, first locking the Evil Qi down in a single place.

Once the Evil Qi stabilized, Gu Xi would then consider whether to use it to nurture corpses or for something else.

After all, this Evil Qi counted as a good thing for the Undead.

For ordinary Undead weapons, he could add a bit of Evil Qi to turn them into Evil Qi Weapons for use.

You could say Gu Xi had use for all of this Evil Qi; it was just that so much came in at once that even Yalidu City couldn’t handle it. He could only first divert the Evil Qi away and store it, then slowly deal with it later.

As for the Gold that had been sent in, most of it was currently piled at the horizontal gate area.

Because something happened to Kro, Gu Xi hadn’t emptied out the entire treasury, which he felt was a bit of a shame.

Now Gu Xi had no desire to run back there again.

When he’d fled from there with Kro, Gu Xi had felt a chill in his heart, like something major was about to happen.

If not for seeing Kro through his final journey, Gu Xi would’ve long since gone back to the real world to study.

Now that Kro had been sent off, there’s no way Gu Xi would go to someplace that dangerous again.

Those Gold pieces could just have their Evil Qi removed first, then be reforged and processed later.

As for the Gold before him, Gu Xi just treated it as stuff a grave robber had just dug up from underground.

Anyway, as an Undead Mage, this was what he cared about the least.

Of course, Gu Xi hadn’t forgotten about the impact of the Evil Qi.

After learning what was going on, he immediately took out the White Bone Obelisk and set it on top of that Gold pile, and also cast a Ghost-Suppressing Peach Mountain over the Gold’s location.

He intended to use the power of Peach Mountain to suppress the Evil Qi that hadn’t yet been fully drawn out of the Gold.

He had to admit, the suppression from the White Bone Obelisk and Peach Mountain was exactly the right approach.

After Gu Xi released these two, the Evil Qi in the skies over Yalidu City clearly decreased a lot.

With the Evil Qi suppressed, the Undead naturally sped up their handling of the Gold.

All kinds of figures were quickly reported in.

This time, aside from the 3117 Golden Bone Dragons, the Sha Qi Gold Gu Xi obtained could be measured by the ton.

Among this Gold, most had already been minted into Gold Coins, at least half of the total Gold. The total weight was about 12 tons, with a total count of around two million coins.

Then there were all sorts of golden vessels, about five tons in total. These were mainly bowls and plates, plus tea canisters and teacups, candleholders for candles, some with patterns, some without, big and small. In short, there were many styles, but they all fell within that range.

The quantity was far less than the Gold Coins, only a bit over a hundred thousand pieces.

Gu Xi had no particular ideas about this.

Using them to decorate his Yalidu City probably wouldn’t even be enough to fully decorate a single district.

Melting them down and reforging them into Gold Coins would be somewhat wasteful.

After all, some vessels still had patterns and such on them; there might be records of something there.

If Kro were here, he’d definitely be able to dig up some information with his archaeological skills.

But now Kro was gone, and Gu Xi didn’t have any archaeologists on hand either; he was a bit lacking in that area.

Lastly, there were nearly seven tons of various weapons.

All these weapons and equipment were Golden Weapons, including Tridents, Golden Swords, Golden Bows, Arrowheads, or Armor-type items.

No matter the size of these weapons, they were all full of Elf style—so gorgeous they could blind you.

Of course, the number of these weapons and equipment wasn’t so easy to calculate.

Some were heavy and some light; Arrowheads were the most numerous, while full suits of Armor were the fewest. All told, there were over six thousand short and long weapons, more than seven hundred sets of Armor, over three thousand Longbows, and more than seventy thousand Arrowheads and Arrows.

Once the Evil Qi was fully drawn out, these things would be prepared for categorizing and processing.
