Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 1203: Chapter 1201: An Offhand Remark

Gu Xi felt for the first time that walking alone was so lonely.

But Gu Xi also understood that whether it was Bailian City, Pei Xin City, or Ancestor City, he couldn’t trust any player.

Some of this was because he carried too many secrets, and he couldn’t trust others easily.

Another part of the reason was that once he joined the guild, he operated solo, without being influenced by or coordinating guild group activities.

He had not developed friends in the guild with whom he could share life and death.

As his level continued to rise and the troops in his command increased, this sense of separation naturally became stronger.

Look at the players in Ancestor City now, which one hasn’t been navigating the game for more than ten years, and which one doesn’t have a crowd of family and friends supporting them?

Even if Gu Xi wanted to integrate, the other players probably wouldn’t allow it.

Not to mention, there were no players yet who could make Gu Xi submit and become their follower.

Speaking of which, Gu Xi couldn’t help but raise his head.

When will this life ever change?

He truly hoped time would pass quickly so he could take advantage of everyone being in this world and enroll in further studies back in the real world.

Perhaps in a new school, Gu Xi could find friends who could keep up with his pace.

Kro actually wasn’t aware of the meaning in Gu Xi’s words; he thought Gu Xi was just complaining about how every time after a battle, the Soul Summoning consumption was greater than during combat.

He laughed: ”You’re just too greedy. I see your style of cleaning the battlefield is wanting everything, digging up even the soil.”

This is really pointless. You’re already exhausted now, let alone in the future.

Look, as your number of Undead increases, future battlegrounds will be even larger.

You can’t possibly sacrifice yourself every time, just to summon souls after a battle, can you?”

Though Gu Xi had no real comrades, he could definitely feel the care in Kro’s words.

”Thank you, I am researching this matter now.”

Seeing Gu Xi unwilling to continue the topic, Kro did not press further, as his relationship with Gu Xi was only to this extent.

Whether Gu Xi could truly find a suitable path, he had no idea and couldn’t say more.

He wasn’t aware that his words had actually already caught Gu Xi’s attention.

Gu Xi was already thinking about how to solve the issue with the Soul Summoning Skill.

Just as Kro said earlier, Soul Summoning doesn’t necessarily need personal effort.

Gu Xi had been trying to figure out a solution to this problem from the beginning.

This period’s corpses, all sent back to Yalidov City, were for this consideration.

No one expected, though, that plans couldn’t keep up with changes.

Before he had researched a solution, he encountered these incidents, with thirty to forty thousand beastman corpses draining Gu Xi’s mana six to seven times.

Next time, Gu Xi really wouldn’t do such an exhausting thing again.

Seeing the topic cool down, Kro quickly shifted to another topic.

”Brother Gu, I’ve heard you mention Death City, Death City, what’s the situation with this Death City?”

On hearing this, Gu Xi couldn’t help but be proud.

”Death City, that’s one of the Three Divine Skills of the Undead Mage, which allows you to communicate with your city at any time and deploy city gates, city walls, even castles, turning field battles into siege warfare.

You can deploy large numbers of troops into the battlefield.

You have seen my battle style before.

Don’t be fooled though I seem alone, when in battle I can summon tens of thousands of troops, that’s the reason.”

Upon hearing this, Kro nodded repeatedly.

Following Gu Xi, Kro had faced several battles, and was quite curious about how Gu Xi opened the city gates to unleash an army.

Now hearing Gu Xi’s explanation, he understood the skill’s powerful aspects.

If the city behind the gates was just a small city, it would be nothing much.

Behind Gu Xi’s city gates, there might be an army of a million.

And they were the kind of undead army not needing work or food.

Such an existence, wherever it walked alone, could be like dropping a nuclear bomb on a city.

Quickly understanding Gu Xi’s level, Kro’s gaze toward Gu Xi changed.

Meanwhile, he pointed to the nearby Poisonous Peach Mountain and asked: ”Is this also?”

”Yes, this is a new Death City, later it will specialize in providing toxic troops for me.

Your archaeological findings were correct.

Beneath Poisonous Peach Mountain lie over a hundred thousand Elf corpses.

Once Poisonous Peach Mountain is upgraded, eventually ten thousand strong undead troops will be stationed.”

”Ten thousand...” Kro was about to say ten thousand wasn’t much, but reconsidered and realized these weren’t ten thousand residents but ten thousand soldiers.

Normally, a city supporting a ten thousand army must have nearly ten million in population.

Here, ten thousand are directly stationed.

Nearby countries and cities will surely feel fear.

Just thinking of this made Kro’s hands involuntarily tremble.

He felt like he couldn’t keep up with Gu Xi’s standing.

Luckily Kro was used to meeting various state leaders.

He soon calmed down and quickly changed the topic.

”Then the tower you summoned is also part of your Death City?”

”Yes, it’s the Soul Summoning Tower. Apart from allowing me to stand and see further, it also releases my spiritual power to summon souls en masse.

Otherwise, a normal Undead Mage summons souls one corpse at a time.

That would truly be exhausting.”

Gu Xi imagined summoning a thousand corpses one by one, not to mention pointing at them with a magic staff would take ages.

Thinking of this made Gu Xi’s scalp tingle.

But Kro, after hearing this, thought of something else.

He suddenly said: ”Brother Gu, from your words, are you saying that without this Soul Summoning Tower, regular Undead Mages would summon souls one corpse at a time?

Is it possible, this Soul Summoning Tower might have a means or method to replenish mana or reduce the mana needed for the Soul Summoning Skill?”

Kro’s casual remark made Gu Xi sit up immediately.

It’s very likely, but Gu Xi only had one Soul Summoning Tower and hadn’t thoroughly researched its other functions, only knowing it enhanced the success rate of the Soul Summoning Skill.

Now it seems there are more details in the Soul Summoning Tower not yet understood.

Thinking of this, Gu Xi raised his hand, summoning the Soul Summoning Tower onto the nearby mountain.
