After releasing the garrison gate, Gu Xi casually put the book in his arms, took a step forward, and quickly went towards the gate tower.

As Gu Xi headed towards the gate, Kro had already run to the garrison gate. At this moment, he shrank his head under the protection of the Undead Corps, heading behind the gate.

Kro knew very well where it would be relatively safe when the battle started.

No matter the current situation, his own safety was the most important.

Meanwhile, the Tree Pits of the Dead in front of the gate had already engaged the enemy.

The enemies appearing this time were lizardmen pushing small carts; when they rushed out, the carts were already lit, raising thick smoke.

Behind these lizardmen was a bizarre creature with two feet and four arms, bearing a lizard head.

They wore thick leather armor and wielded longswords and shields commonly used by human swordsmen, charging forward continuously.

Following behind them were heavy cavalry at a distance.

These cavalry were noticeably different from human cavalry, as they rode warhorses the size of normal elephants, which had sharp tusks at their mouths.

Simultaneously, the cavalry themselves were tall half-giants.

In their hands, they wielded rather magnificent war axes.

The war axes in their hands, even the armor they wore, were clearly not something they could produce.

Regarding the situation of the charging enemy, Gu Xi was already unfazed.

In these past few months, those attacking Kro were remnants of the Ancient Hundred Races.

No one knew where they came from; ever since Kro started his archaeology, they would continuously attack Kro.

The size of the attacking troops varied; sometimes it would be a force of one or two thousand, and sometimes it might just be a small squad of ten launching a covert ambush.

These conditions made Gu Xi somewhat suspicious, contemplating whether Kro had done something significant, uncovered something different through archaeology, thereby attracting forces hidden deep within this world.

Otherwise, why would such remnants of the Ancient Hundred Races come out to attack him?

Moreover, all the weapons in the hands of these remnants were the best equipment of the Human Realm.

Clearly, they lived and trained in various Human Realms from the start.

There is even a possibility that they were initially lurking within the Human Realm, preparing for a specific moment.

Now, these troops are brought out in batches to attack Kro, and once a batch dies, a new batch is immediately sent over.

Kro must have stirred up quite a large situation.

Standing on the gate tower of the garrison gate, Gu Xi glanced at the charging enemies and muttered, releasing a batch of Undead Corps.

These enemies had nothing worth seeing, it was all the same old routine.

Among the Hundred Races remnants, the most seen were those lizardmen.

They were numerous and grew quickly, best used as cannon fodder, requiring no training; with a small cart and some firewood, they could charge.

Their combat power was generally average, but due to their numbers, and with the wooden carts they pushed always yielding some effect, sometimes causing explosions or fires, they were considered one of the stronger soldier types.

Thus, unless only a small squad of ten and above appeared as enemies, such soldier types were generally seen among most enemy forces.

With them paving the way at the front, the troops behind would proceed to wield their strongest combat techniques.

The two soldier types in the rear, akin to the Cyclops’ crossbow shooting team, were also common soldier types.

As long as it exceeded corps of around five hundred, two or three types from these soldiers would always appear.

However, half-giant cavalry and Cyclops shooting teams typically did not appear simultaneously, and no one knew how this arrangement was made.

In these past few months, Gu Xi had lost count of how many of these enemies he had fought.

Initially needing to study how to fight these foes.

Eventually, he directly wrote answers based on routine.

Now, as soon as Gu Xi saw the enemies, he didn’t need to command specially, his subordinates knew how to handle them.

The moment these enemies appeared, the Tree Pits of the Dead immediately launched the attack.

Numerous vines sprung from the ground, striking at the charging lizardmen with their carts.

These lizardmen were all cannon fodder; all their abilities resided within the carts in front of them.

Now as soon as the vines sprang out, they tipped over part of the carts, causing the firewood on the carts to spill onto the ground, burning the lizardmen.

This stopped the enemy’s advancing troops.

At this time, Gu Xi’s Undead Corps also charged out from the garrison gate.

Now Gu Xi’s Undead Corps had completed initial grouping.

Most of the Undead Bosses had taken up newly crafted battle banners; although these banners currently bore no designs, merely having them allowed every boss to lead a thousand soldiers into battle.

Moreover, the battle style of these thousand soldiers would be somewhat similar to the boss’s style.

In broad terms, there wouldn’t be changes, but in detail, they would naturally resemble their own bosses.

Like for instance, two skeleton bosses both with skeleton soldiers, whether the long swords in the skeleton soldiers’ hands were rusty would differ.

With so many soldiers under these bosses, they naturally needed to consider for their own soldiers, allowing opportunities for upgrading and enhancement.

Thus, as soon as the garrison gate opened here, many bosses scrambled to rush out.

As they charged outwards, they immediately raised their battle banners, looking towards the distant enemy.

Having fought these enemies for a long time, all bosses had a certain judgment on the enemy situation in their hearts.

They could tell in one glance the identity of the enemies ahead and determine the most suitable way to fight.

Thus, upon charging out from the garrison gate, the Undead Corps split into four; one squad of skeleton soldiers wielding warhammers directly surpassed the downed lizardmen, heading towards the four-armed lizardmen wielding sword and shield at the rear.

Two squads of skeleton gunners went left and right, attacking the half-giant cavalry.

The remaining squad of skeleton soldiers cleared the ground of lizardmen.

Without the small fiery carts, those ordinary lizardmen were powerless in combat, aside from a layer of leather armor, they had no suitable weapons.

Normally, after crashing into the enemy, they would retrieve a lit piece of wood from the carts to repeatedly strike the enemy, using flames to harm them.

But this time, they flipped carts directly, and now as the skeleton soldiers rushed in, it was like slicing melons, cutting them down on the spot.

Seeing the scene before him, Gu Xi couldn’t help but sigh.

”Klu Brothers, what exactly are you archaeologically searching? Day after day, it’s always these enemies.”
