Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 1223: Chapter 1221: Evil Qi Descends

Upon leaving the treasure cave, Gu Xi dragged Kro onto the Holy Silver Evil Coffin, decisively heading outwards.

Under the temporary suppression of the White Bone Obelisk, the evil qi on Kro was not as rampant as before.

At this moment, Gu Xi looked serious, ”I’m afraid we can’t stay here any longer. Let’s find a place as far away from here as possible, I’ll help you deal with the evil qi on you.

After that, it will be up to you.”

Kro, having snapped out of the previous frenzy, now saw the scene in the sky differently.

However, Kro said, ”It’s nothing, I won’t die.

I’ve encountered a similar situation before, and I ended up running for three years.

Eventually, I gained the ability of Passive Telepathy.

This time might be the same, Brother Gu, don’t worry about me, I’m fine.”

Gu Xi glanced at the final sound of the mainline task and said calmly, ”You’re lucky. If it weren’t for me having to protect you for another day and a half, I would have left long ago.

With the evil qi on you now, not even ghosts would want to come near.

Do you believe that if I lift the suppression of the evil qi on you and throw you down, you’re done for?”

After saying this, Gu Xi rolled his eyes at Kro.

Do you really think you’re something special? In your current state, if the evil qi isn’t removed, forget about surviving three years, three hours would be a miracle.

However, in light of the three months of cooperation between Gu Xi and Kro, Gu Xi didn’t abandon Kro but maneuvered the Holy Silver Evil Coffin to quickly move outside.

Gu Xi’s current target was the largest Human City nearby.

Gu Xi understood that only in places with more people could it be relatively safer.

At least Kro wouldn’t be subject to some inexplicable attacks due to the evil qi on him.

Seeing Gu Xi’s serious expression, Kro also shut his mouth.

In the ensuing period, Gu Xi employed various means to extract the evil qi from Kro’s body.

However, the evil qi on Kro was quite stubborn.

No matter how Gu Xi extracted it, he couldn’t remove the evil qi from within a meter of Kro.

Seeing Gu Xi working tirelessly, Kro felt somewhat touched.

”I say let’s leave it be, I’m in a great state now, there won’t be any problems.”

Gu Xi rolled his eyes again, you call this state no problem.

Do you believe if I give you a mirror to see what you look like now?

The black aura on you can be seen even by a normal person.

Gu Xi simply ignored Kro’s words and continued experimenting bit by bit.

Finally, Gu Xi discovered that the evil qi on Kro wasn’t unmanageable, it just lacked a place to be stored.

As long as it left over a meter from Kro’s body, it would immediately start to drift away.

It would eventually return to Kro.

Unless equipment was used to contain the evil qi.

But to contain the evil qi, it had to be equipment of purple quality or higher.

Moreover, once the evil qi was contained, the equipment’s attributes would undergo some changes.

Though unclear if the attributes were strengthened or mutated, the negative effects of the purple armor were definitely strengthened.

The most crucial issue is that a single piece of purple armor cannot store much evil qi.

A standard piece of purple armor can only store a wisp of evil qi.

Maybe the orange armor could store more evil qi, but how could Gu Xi bear to use his few pieces of orange armor for such an evil qi experiment?

Even using the purple armor to store evil qi, he selected ones that weren’t often used.

Asking Gu Xi to bring out the orange armor to save Kro, their relationship wasn’t yet at that level.

What Gu Xi could do now was ensure Kro’s life for another day or two.

Then when Kro died, he would return to help bury him.

Perhaps, considering their good relationship, he might process Kro’s corpse to see if it could be converted into a powerful Undead or Contracted Undead or something.

But to bring out the orange armor for Kro, Gu Xi wasn’t ready for that.

”Never mind, suit yourself, as long as you think you’re okay. We’re heading to Naluduo City now.

According to the map you provided, this is the largest city nearby.

And no matter in terms of safety or other aspects, this city has it very well covered.

Once we get there, we can have a good time for a couple of days.

This time, don’t say anything, it’s on me.

Just as...”

Gu Xi trailed off without finishing.

Kro perked up upon hearing this.

”Naluduo City, ah, I’m familiar with that place, I might have forgotten if you hadn’t mentioned it.

I know a great place there.

I’ll lead the way, and you treat us. We’ll have a great time.

I’m telling you, this place is generally unknown to most.

There’s a circus in Naluduo City, adults don’t typically go out of their way to watch a circus, and kids don’t know the joys of the side performances there, only someone with a heart like mine would wander into a circus.”

”Circus?”

Gu Xi was a bit speechless, not expecting such a place in the city.

”Yes, it’s really something, with horses, golden-haired lions, all sorts of performances.

There’s plenty to see in the audience seats.

You can swing on a swing in the sky, do magic tricks in a box, it’s so fun.

Once you get there, you’ll see, the circus is the place where men should really be having fun.”

As Kro spoke, his voice noticeably weakened.

Even if he kept insisting he was fine, Gu Xi could clearly see that the evil qi had already entered Kro’s body, and his organs couldn’t sustain themselves under the evil qi’s stimulus.

Given his current state, even without attacks provoked by the evil qi, his body wouldn’t hold out for long.

What Gu Xi could do now was to give Kro a few Grass Returning Pills, either to extend his life or mitigate the negative effects, hoping he could persist a while longer.

After all, Kro hadn’t yet taken Gu Xi to visit the circus.

If he died now, there’d be no one to lead the way.

As he fed Kro the spiritual medicine, Gu Xi also increased the speed of the Holy Silver Evil Coffin a bit more.

At the same time, the White Bone Obelisk under Gu Xi’s control directly hovered over Kro’s head, blessing him every five minutes, ensuring he wouldn’t die suddenly for all sorts of reasons.

Even so, by the time Gu Xi reached Naluduo City, Kro had already closed his eyes, speaking weakly.

If it weren’t for Gu Xi forcibly keeping Kro alive, Kro might have already died.

Seeing Kro on the brink of death, Gu Xi glanced at the remaining time of his mainline mission.

His expression grew even grimmer.

With less than six hours remaining, if Kro died like this, the task would be difficult to complete.

Just as Gu Xi was about to turn and leave Naluduo City, looking for a place to stop first, and perform a Resurrection Skill as soon as Kro died.

At that moment, Kro opened his eyes, a glimmer of anticipation shining through.

”Brother Gu, are we in Naluduo City yet? Let’s go see the circus.”
