Gu Xi, who had entered Poisonous Peach Mountain, saw Silia at the first moment.

”My lord.”

”How’s the situation?”

Previously, Silia’s giant-sized human head had only let Gu Xi know that something had happened at Poisonous Peach Mountain.

But he didn’t know what exactly had happened; as for Kro, he could at most tell Gu Xi that someone had set up an ambush, but there was no way to find out detailed information.

Right now the one with the most intel was actually Silia.

”There were two units lying in ambush near Poisonous Peach Mountain, waiting for this one to go out.

Because they were ambushed fifty li away, we didn’t really take them seriously at first.

And this one reacted quickly as well—before he even went beyond fifty li he realized something was off, immediately fled back, and the two units that pursued him crossed into our territory and were discovered by us.”

”Hold up.”

Gu Xi directly cut Silia off.

”I remember the Klu Brothers only went out for a few minutes, how did they manage to stir up such a big mess already? That’s fifty li we’re talking about.”

At this moment Kro also spoke, a bit embarrassed: ”Well, I wanted to hurry and get to the archaeology site. Actually I have a kind of ultra-fast movement method.

Of course that method isn’t very convenient—it can only be used for short-distance travel, not long-distance travel.”

Kro explained in a small voice.

”How many enemies?”

Gu Xi ignored Kro and asked directly.

”In total, only about five thousand men. They’ve already withdrawn beyond the fifty-li range.”

”Have Poison Bone wipe them out. Also have Poison Bone clear the surroundings.”

Gu Xi gave the order without hesitation, then turned to look at Kro.

”You wait a bit before you go. We’ll clear out the nearby enemies first.”

This time Kro had really been scared.

He truly hadn’t expected there would be so many enemies lying in wait for him.

It seemed he still needed Gu Xi’s protection, at least to make sure his safety was guaranteed.

So this time Kro behaved very honestly, and didn’t run off to another mountain outside Poisonous Peach Mountain.

He just sat down at the foot of Poisonous Peach Mountain, right at a spot by the edge of the toxic miasma, in the safest position, waiting for the battle to end.

Gu Xi didn’t stop Kro’s choice, he only told Silia to pay extra attention to Kro’s safety.

And Gu Xi took this opportunity to quickly return to Yalidu City to discuss the Soul Summoning Tower with Luna.

In the Assembly Hall of Yalidu City, Gu Xi saw Luna and Eve at the same time.

Right now Luna was handling city affairs for Yalidu City, while Eve was lying over the map studying some details of the Soul Summoning Tower.

When they saw Gu Xi come in, Luna and Eve both saluted him together.

”My lord.”

”Well? Did you both receive the information I sent back earlier?”

”We’ve already received it. At the same time, I’ve also gone through some of the copied books and spoken with the three architects.”

Eve responded at once.

She was even more proactive about this than Luna.

”The Soul Summoning Tower itself can’t have certain Attributes changed, but we can add prefixes in front of the Soul Summoning Tower, or construct linked buildings. We hadn’t researched this aspect before, so we missed out on quite a lot.

Now it seems we really have many directions that still need studying.

At the same time I also found a layout diagram for a large formation for the Soul Summoning Tower.

In addition, we have conceptual design ideas for two structures that count as Soul Summoning Tower Upgrades: the Undead Transformation Altar and the Resurrection Pool.

The architects just need some time and they’ll be able to replicate these two buildings.”

Eve quickly laid out the information she’d dug up over this short period.

After Eve finished speaking, Luna also opened her mouth: ”When you sent this information in, my lord, I had an idea too.

We can build more Soul Summoning Towers.

Also, we can hook them up to the Magic Pool, using the Magic Pool’s Mana to replace your Mana expenditure when you Summon.

I’ve already discussed this with Eve.

Eve plans to experiment and verify the feasibility of this method.

If it’s feasible, I’m planning to partition out a district here in the Main City District to serve as a zone for piling corpses and performing Summoning.”

Luna was indeed meticulous in her work. She set down what she was holding, drew a stroke across the tabletop, and the map spread open in front of them.

Gu Xi noticed that the location Luna had chosen was the original site of the Demi Giant Garden.

Now that the Giant Garden had been relocated to the Heroic District, this area had indeed been vacated.

And nearby there was a horizontally sliding city gate, a necessary route for transporting large amounts of supplies.

Placing the Summoning District here would be very advantageous.

On one hand, there was the issue of open space; on the other, when we sweep the battlefield and transport corpses back, this would be the best place to pile them.

According to Luna’s plan, she intended to move the Soul Summoning Tower to this location, and also build several additional Soul Summoning Towers here.

In addition, the area for piling corpses would be expanded—at minimum it should be able to hold over a hundred thousand corpses at the same time.

When Luna got to this point, Eve suddenly spoke up: ”Actually, my idea was more to build a dedicated Summoning Corpse Nurturing District, just like my Magic District. We’d store the corpses there and let them ’nurture’ for a year or two.

Our current troop numbers are ample.

If we’re not in a rush to use the corpses, then we can let them ’nurture’ for a while.

Here I’ve got some Secret Techniques for corpse nurturing, all copied from the Library in Ancestor City.

I’ve already worked out some simplified methods—if we nurture them for a year, the Combat Power of the Undead Corps Summoned from them can be increased by at least ten percent.

If the nurturing is done well, even a fifty-percent boost in Combat Power isn’t out of the question.

My lord, you know this: our greatest advantage as Undead is that we can Summon, but our biggest weakness is that Undead Combat Power tends to be weaker than that of normal enemies.

But once we have this corpse nurturing process, the Combat Power of our Undead will definitely be raised to normal levels.

My lord, just think about it.

When the Combat Power level of our Undead matches normal standards, while the enemy still doesn’t know—what do you think will happen?”

Hearing this, Gu Xi, who hadn’t really been that tempted before, lifted his head.

”Luna.”

”My lord, we can clear the grounds within two days; the relocation of the Soul Summoning Tower can be finished tomorrow. As for other buildings, that will depend on the Architectural Design Plans and the progress of the current construction queue.”

”We’re not in a rush.”

Hearing that Luna already had a Wan Quan plan, Gu Xi instead became less anxious.

”First mobilize some personnel to handle the corpses. This batch of Human soldiers’ corpses needs to get all the proper treatments. Eve, didn’t you produce a simplified version of the Potion on your side?

Bring it all out. Let’s get the corpses strengthened and treated first.

Luna, I remember the original location of the Giant Garden was the Hundred-armed Giant Graveyard District, right?”

”Yes. My lord is worried that the Attributes of that area will affect the corpses?”

”No. I remember there were three Laboratories there before, and later the nearby Blood Cellar got fused into it as well, so the overall style doesn’t really fit the Undead we normally use.

Luna, while I’m still here, if we’re going to do this we should do it right. Prepare to readjust the Earth Vein, gather Yin Qi, and create a new Corpse Nurturing Land for conversion.”
