Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 1212: Chapter 1210: Sudden Emergency Quest

Kro’s words were simple, but the information within was anything but.

Gu Xi immediately understood one thing upon hearing them—the giant dragons were outsiders, coming from beyond the volcano.

The Ancient Hundred Races had fought at least two battles with the giant dragons, winning one and losing the other.

The elves had also fought against the giant dragons once.

Winning was certain, but if the elves claimed they completely defeated the dragon reinforcements, that seemed unlikely.

Thus, the reality of how much of history is true remains unclear.

The only certainty is that these giant dragons flew in from beyond the volcano.

What does this signify?

A giant dragon invasion?

The end of the world?

A hint of confusion flashed in Gu Xi’s eyes.

Just then, a ding sounded by Gu Xi’s ear.

[Now a sudden temporary mission; all players, please take notice!]

Upon seeing the pop-up message in front of him, Gu Xi was momentarily stunned.

He quickly opened and viewed the temporary mission.

[Temporary Mission: Blood Sacrifice Dragon]

[Mission Description: The giant dragons have come from the volcano and are flying toward the world’s core Golden Pillar. If the dragons reach the Golden Pillar, the Dragon Flame will melt it, destroying the pillar that supports the world and causing the earth to be annihilated!

Therefore, please stop the dragons’ advance.]

[Mission Requirement: Kill more than one giant dragon!]

[Mission Reward: One piece of Purple Equipment, Main Quest Promotion.]

[Explanation 1: Please choose the number of dragons to hold back based on your combat power. Strive to survive first; there is no upper limit to the number of dragons you can kill, but combat power has a limit. Do not play recklessly and get yourself killed.]

[Explanation 2: The more dragons you kill, the higher the promotion of the main quest, and the better the final reward for completing the main quest.]

Having glanced at the task, Gu Xi looked up at the sky again.

At this time, the dragons were already flying past; now Gu Xi could only see the shadows of the Dragon Group from afar.

”Kro, there must have been millions of dragons that just flew past, right?”

”Definitely more than that. I never imagined that even after leaving this world, the dragon race retained such formidable power.”

Gu Xi recalled when he had first entered this world; it seemed only ten thousand players had arrived together.

Even if all players were mobilized, each would need to kill a hundred giant dragons to resolve this current crisis.

Though most players had levels above Level 10, killing one dragon was not a problem.

But to kill a hundred dragons, this feat would hardly be achievable by an average player.

Just as Gu Xi remained silent, Kro seemed to have thought of something.

”Wait for me; I have something here.”

While speaking, Kro jumped down from the city wall.

Earlier, when the dragon flew over the fortress walls, the battle beneath had actually ended.

The undead under Gu Xi’s command were unaffected by the dragons overhead and were tidying up the battlefield.

Seeing Kro jump down from the fortress wall, they paid little attention.

After all, they had encountered such situations countless times. Kro was an archeology fanatic who always rushed to the archeological site immediately after a battle.

This time surely would be the same.

Thus, they directly made way for him.

However, they hadn’t anticipated that Kro wouldn’t go to the archeological site, but instead rush to his camp and start rummaging there.

Confused by this, Gu Xi’s undead were taken aback.

But among these undead present, not a single hero was there.

Ordinary undead bosses had no say over Kro.

Their curiosity was merely enough for them to glance a few times in that direction; they had no intention of going over to investigate.

Kro didn’t rummage for long before he ran out with a cup taller than himself.

The cup was made of stone, with a layer of gold inlaid outside, making it significantly heavy.

When Kro ran with this thing, his speed visibly slowed.

Gu Xi, preparing to retract the Garrison Gate, noticed this situation and instructed his undead to help Kro and the cup onto the city wall.

”Brother Gu, come over here quickly! Right, do you have any water?”

”Yes, do you want a drink?”

Upon hearing Kro’s request, Gu Xi immediately took out his portable canteen.

Ever since acting together with Kro, Gu Xi had adopted a much more regular eating pattern, bringing some snacks and drinking water along.

If his stomach felt slightly hungry, he would quickly consume something to ensure he wouldn’t have any problems.

But Kro, upon seeing this, shook his head.

”No, I need a significant amount of water, enough to fill this entire cup.

During one of my archeological expeditions, I found an artifact belonging to the ancient giants.

As long as the cup is filled with water, you can see a scene from ancient times.

I found this item intriguing, so I’ve never sold it.

Just now, I suddenly thought of something—I think I might know where the troops that have continuously attacked us are coming from.”

Gu Xi was somewhat speechless at Kro’s words.

He wanted to ask about the number of dragons that had just flown past.

He was considering how many dragons each of the ten thousand players who had entered three months ago might be able to kill.

And Kro talks about this?

Still, it’s good to know at least that Kro might find out why someone has been targeting him.

”I’ll have someone bring water over. Kro brother, sit down and rest for a bit. How did you think of this?”

”Wasn’t it just the direction those dragons were flying? Although I can’t see, their direction was towards the Golden Pillar, right?”

When it comes to local area details, Kro, being a native, would undoubtedly be more knowledgeable than Gu Xi.

Moreover, practically everyone saw the situation when the dragons were flying; there was nothing to hide.

Thus, Gu Xi nodded.

”Then there’s no mistake; ever since I started archeology, there’s been a continuous lead pointing in one direction—that there’s something wrong with the Golden Pillar. But no one has gone there, not even within ten thousand miles of the Golden Pillar’s vicinity.

No one has seen the Golden Pillar; everyone knows the mountain is in that direction, yet when you lift your gaze, there’s nothing visible.

But whether it be history or legend, everyone knows one thing.

The Golden Pillar supports the worlds above the sky, on the earth, and beneath the ground.

Without the Golden Pillar, this world would be destroyed.”

At this point, Krudon paused, ”Is it possible that whoever occupies the Golden Pillar can control the entire world?

Over the years of my archeological endeavors, I’ve always had a question: how did the era of the Ancient Hundred Races, Ancient Giant Dragons, Middle Ages Elves, and the current humans gain recognition from this world?

By occupying more territories?

Now it seems this thought might be incorrect.”

At this moment, a thought crossed Gu Xi’s mind.

”Humans occupied the Golden Pillar? Creation? So that’s how it is...”
