Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Since Sister Ji couldn’t make it, the team members decided to have a meeting first at Baozi’s capsule hotel.

This capsule hotel is also where Baozi, Big Muscle Dominator, and Brother Umbrella stay at night, sharing a capsule.

The reason is simple, they are... oh no, saving money.

Baozi calculated an account, with the Mechanic Token of the three and their expenses on meals, the money from selling the car can sustain them for at most ten days.

Better save a bit where possible.

Moreover, the capsule hotel has one advantage, the gangs don’t come for extortion.

Behind every capsule hotel, there’s a force of Peacekeepers.

These ’Peacekeepers’ are called ’Franchise Organizations’ in the city, acknowledged by the Mechanical Main Brain, used to maintain the efficient operation of ’Artificial Data’ with military force.

These ’Peacekeepers’ also contract for security work in high-end districts, making them a part of the security system in large corporations, equipped with 30-hour surveillance systems, heavy machine guns, rocket launchers, unmanned combat aircraft, war prosthetic body squads, their firepower is at least two levels higher than the gangs of the Old Town District.

And in some low-level districts, capsule hotels are also within their operational areas, places where no gang dares to tread.

After all, the upgraded version of a gang is a Peacekeeper.

And the plus version of a Peacekeeper is a Military Contractor.

Some workers, for the sake of safety, even voluntarily move their homes into a capsule hotel.

”How to say, it feels like an offline meetup,” Big Muscle Dominator curled up in the stark white capsule and suddenly said.

”Offline? This here is online,” Baozi rolled his eyes.

”I wonder what these brothers all look like?” Red Flower Demon was somewhat expectant.

The first to arrive was ’Hei Bing No. 2’, wearing a trench coat and sunglasses, with a rather gloomy expression, and his bulging waistband gave off the vibe of someone not to be messed with.

”I Love Eating Buns, I am a Big Muscle Dominator, Red Flower Demon.”

Hei Bing No. 2 shook hands with the three one by one, his palm was somewhat cold.

”Brother, are you the one who jumped off a building?” Big Muscle Dominator blurted out.

Hei Bing No. 2’s mouth twitched, nodded.

”Did you change your identity after you died?” Red Flower Demon asked curiously, ”Brother, what is your identity now.”

”A bottom-level minion in Wuu’s Debt Collection Group.”

”Wuu’s... Debt Collection Group?”

”Correct, the very organization that forced me to jump off a building,” Hei Bing No. 2 said calmly.

”...”

The three looked at each other, stunned.

Is this even possible?!

”Well, that’s some dark humor, Brother Hei Bing,” Baozi chuckled dryly.

”Work hard, rise up quickly, and avenge yourself soon!” Big Muscle Dominator punched him on the shoulder, laughing heartily.

Every player’s personality is different; Baozi is a bit more grasping, Big Muscle Dominator seems somewhat brainless, while Red Flower Demon is a bit hot-headed.

As for Hei Bing No. 2, he seems like an introvert; apart from introducing himself, he found a corner to sit in, resting his eyes, making the three exchange puzzled glances.

They originally planned to chat and exchange some information.

This guy is too cool, isn’t he?

Luckily, PP Head and Plane soon arrived; PP Head being a round-faced little girl, wearing a basic model Network Implantation Chamber, surprisingly resembling ’Pretty Sheep.’

As for Plane, as soon as he met them, he couldn’t wait to display his chatterbox characteristics.

”Wow, Brother Baozi, where’s your store? I’ll visit it next time, by the way, what do you sell in it?”

”Brother Muscle Dominator, your muscles are so strong, is this the legendary biochemical muscle?”

”Brother Hei Bing, you actually have a gun! That’s awesome, can I see it?”

Baozi scanned the room, finding among those present, only ’PP Head’ and ’Hei Bing No. 2’ had changed professions, the former being a Neural Editor, the latter a Hitman.

Players are different from NPCs; players start with civilian professions.

And civilian upgrades account for very low attribute points.

Only after changing professions can they leverage the advantages of their professions and undergo targeted modifications.

But being a civilian has one benefit, that is, after changing professions, the attribute points of this Whiteboard Profession do not disappear, equivalent to freeloading on a sub-profession.

As to whether to change professions or upgrade, to pursue strength immediately or lay a solid foundation first, it depends on the player’s individual choice.

The two are not completely opposed, for instance, Baozi knows that to join the Welfare Gang, aside from reaching 200 points in Street Reputation, the civilian profession must also reach level 5.

All seven present are high-end players, even the seemingly most rookie Plane is the only player present who has undergone prosthetic body modification.

His right hand has been modified with ’Fingertip Bullet’ and ’Forearm Blade,’ if Brother Umbrella doesn’t join, then he has to play the ’Terminator’ role.

The seven discussed for a while based on the information given by Sister Ji, and quickly confirmed two plans.

”Since everyone’s pretty much done discussing, then Plane, Hei Bing, and PP follow me, let’s find Brother Umbrella to confirm whether he’s coming or not.”

These three are somewhat discontented with Baozi’s high regard for Brother Umbrella, but everyone’s an adult, understanding what is merely showmanship.

And Baozi naturally noticed this point.

Seeing is believing, right?

”What about me, what about me, why aren’t you taking me?” Red Flower Demon protested.

”You go practice with Big Muscle Dominator, after all, you’re not yet familiar with that bionic body of yours.”
