Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Ah, game forums, Gao Gong is very familiar with them.

In the previous life, NPCs traced through the internet to catch people, the first step was hacking into the forum to obtain a lot of player information from the backend.

By the second stage, who knows how, they obtained the qualifications of game administrators and began large-scale account suspensions.

The first stage was fine; players thought it was some kind of advanced task breaking the fourth wall, but the latter was more of a bug, directly banning accounts. No matter how high your level was, it was useless. They directly turned into GMs.

Hmm? Gao Gong blinked, did the NPC template have this feature?

At this moment, a forum so primitive that it only had two sections appeared in front of Gao Gong.

Background Information, Player Community

This broken page, so familiar!

No top-up interface, no shop, not even a customer service.

This is the legendary ”Cyber Realm”, a game made with heart but a forum built with feet.

Clicking on Background Information, there is only one line——

A grand world set in the 9th Cosmos where countless civilizations rise and fall.

No beta test, straight to public test.

Gao Gong vaguely remembers, at its peak, the game had tens of millions of players online simultaneously.

But after the late game when NPCs started capturing players, the number of players online started to drastically decrease.

Before Gao Gong traveled, only a few hundred were online at the same time.

He wondered if those little partners also traveled through.

Opening the player community, sure enough, it’s the familiar chat flood.

Big Bo ’Everyone who got an account, be a bit more arrogant.’

World Prince ’There’s no top-up channel, poor rating.’

Flower Taisui ’I want to tease the customer service lady, customer service lady come here quickly for me to tease.’

’How did everyone grab an account?’

’Form a team online, form a team online.’

’Is there a gold farming studio, please contact me quickly.’

’Are there any beautiful girls, if not, handsome boys also work.’

’Any beta test pros, come out and introduce yourselves.’

’By the way, who knows...’

’Fast as the wind, quick as lightning!’

’Fast as the wind, quick as lightning!’

’Fast as the wind, quick as lightning!’

’Fast as the wind, quick as lightning!’

’Fast as the wind, quick as lightning!’

A player known as ’The Flash’ began spamming, also a well-known spambot in the forum, characterized by excessive gibberish and fast typing.

But one comment just appeared and then vanished.

[Please do not discuss non-game-related matters in this forum, ’The Flash’ has been muted for three days]

’What the heck, what did this person say to get muted directly.’

’Was it porn or politics, hehe, could it be...’

[Please do not discuss non-game-related matters in this forum, ’Flower Taisui’ has been muted for three days]

’...’

’...’

’...’

After a series of ellipses, a player cautiously said.

’Isn’t this forum way too strict, only discussing the game? That’s too ridiculous.’

’Is this a way to cut off players from communicating privately?’ analyzed by a member of the Rational Party.

’Everyone join the group——’

As soon as the group number was posted, it vanished immediately.

[Please do not discuss non-game-related matters in this forum, ’Sister Xiaoqiao’ has been muted for three days]

’What is this, prohibiting player interactions?’

’Damn, I’m playing games just for fun, and you control even that, who do you think you are? As long as I have a keyboard in hand, my life is my own, not dictated by fate! Developer, screw you——’

’Eh? Criticizing the developer surprisingly didn’t result in a mute, let me try, Planner lady, you wouldn’t want your husband to be bullied in the forum, right.’

’Planner brat, I’m your dad.’

’Does the person above want to be my son?’

Surprisingly, you could criticize the planner, criticize the game, and even players insulting each other was allowed.

For a time, the forum was filled with elegant vocabulary.

’Shouldn’t the administrator do something? I can’t post images, but he can insult people, that’s unreasonable.’

’Is your image... appropriate?’

’By the way, is there an administrator?’

’Eh, seems like there really is.’

Only then did players find that among the flashing icons, there was a special mark in front of a G-shaped icon. Clicking it opened the administrator icon.

’Administrator, you idiot!’

[Administrator G has muted ’Black Big Mouth’ for 100 days]

’...’

’...’

’...’

The lively forum rarely paused for a few seconds.

’A hundred days, seriously?’

’Nonsense, it’s in red text, how could it be fake.’

’Isn’t it usually a three-day mute, a hundred days, the beta test would be over by then, oh, this broken game doesn’t have a beta test.’

’So, criticizing the planner is okay, but the administrator isn’t?’

’Is the administrator the son of the group’s chairman?’

’Which brave soul will try again?’

’Try it and see, Administrator, you’re really *** disgusting’

[Manager G muted ’Counterfeit’ for 100 days]

’Hahaha, the weather is so nice today.’

’Yeah, yeah, let’s talk about the game instead…’

After banning a few stubborn users, the forum decisively changed topics.

Gao Gong nodded in satisfaction and closed the banning page.

If NPCs can be banned, why can’t I?

With the game not yet launched and reality off-limits for discussion, the forum indeed lacks any substantial content.

After skimming through, Gao Gong closed the forum.

Unexpectedly, this NPC template comes with a manager account, interesting.

In the previous life, Gao Gong stole the template from the ’Collective Consciousness,’ one of the six universe factions.

So, would the NPC template functions differ across various universe factions?

Art design, stats planning, or opening a shop?

Really stirs the imagination.

However, the forum rules remain consistently grim.

If the game quality weren’t so solid, this point alone would cause a massive player exodus.

Hmm?

Gao Gong blinked, suddenly hit by a possibility.

In the later game stages, players are constantly captured.

And the game forum only allows discussion relevant to game content.

Is this a form of protection?

Preventing information leaks.

So, are the game developers and the strongest NPC factions in the game not in cahoots?

Gao Gong had a faint suspicion, but it was too shocking for even him to fully believe.

...

With the forum opened, in a sense, Gao Gong also needed to speed up.

One day later—

Sitting at the head of a massive round table, Gao Gong is surrounded by twenty-two Blood Hunter-level Hunters, each transformed by him personally, equipped with Elite Templates above level 20, all with strong auras.

He hoped that upon his return, a few of them could reach the level 30 cap.

He’d have a big surprise prepared for those who reached full level.

”While I’m away, I’ll need to trouble you all.”

Everyone sat upright and respectful, a posture not often seen in Mechanical Hunters.

With that, Gao Gong stood up and directly left.

The temporary group composed of Daisila, Huang Wen, and Meng Duo also rose; they would manage the Mechanical Hunters moving forward.

Gao Gong also granted them a trump card—the authority to deploy the Mechanical Giant Leopard ’Gilbert.’

...

Gao Gong then found Sunx Hong at the Mecha Academy, now transferred from the Biotech Troop and appointed as the Dean of the Mecha Academy.

Angie, now in full military gear, was doing a set of push-ups opposite her, sweat pouring as she stealthily supported herself with her elbow while Sunx Hong focused on paperwork.

Without raising her head, Sunx Hong flicked her left hand, transforming it into a vine whip that snapped across Angie’s butt.

Angie’s blue skin instantly turned rose-colored, a sign of her excitement.

Yet she remained silent, gritting her teeth through the push-ups.

’Sooner or later, I’ll have you under my thumb.’

”Oh, working hard, huh.”

Angie looked up sharply, realizing the top contender on her ’must-kill list’ was smiling at her.

Seeing Gao Gong, Sunx Hong immediately stood up.

”Master.”

Gao Gong glanced at Angie, realizing that this alien girl’s genes and the ’Divine’ genes were currently unmatched in bio-mimicry technology.

One Tier 2 Bloodline, one Spatial Ability.

If these could be implanted in himself, biological transformation would take a big leap.

He still needed to head to Nightless City for a solution, which had superior biotechnology and more Genetic Fusion capabilities.

”How about a break? Here, have a bear-shaped lollipop.”

Angie looked incredulously at him—could this bad guy really be that nice?

”The basic training should be nearly done, right?”

Gao Gong checked her panel, noting that even with basic training, this alien’s main attributes rivaled those of a level 15 Mechanical Hunter.

”I think we can move to combat training, like piloting mecha.”

Watching his nominal fiancée, Gao Gong’s face showed kindness.

Sunx Hong hesitated, ”Isn’t it too soon?”

Angie trembled and quickly said, ”I think I’m ready!”

Piloting mecha sounded much easier than daily weight training.

”See, she’s alright, let’s start immediately.”

”Where’s the mecha? I’ve wanted to try it for ages,” Angie said eagerly.

Though the Little Princess of the Security Corps, she hadn’t piloted a mecha which she had long been curious about.

”To quickly adapt to the mecha’s strength, we’ve simulated a 10x gravity environment; I believe you’ll adapt swiftly.”

”10…10x!?” Angie gasped, dropping her lollipop.

”No, no, I want to stay here and train, not go into gravity combat…”

Unfortunately, two Ancient Robots flanked her, thwarting her plans for escape.

”Is the Leader truly grooming her to be a Warrior?” Sunx Hong asked.

Gao Gong smiled and shook his head, certainly not.

The more mature her bloodline, the greater the benefits of his implantation.

Though sometimes tormenting a blue-skinned loli can be amusing.

”I have something to discuss with you, regarding the Mecha Team…”

After leaving Sunx Hong’s office, Gao Gong sought out Old Qian, now a Hunter Academy teacher specializing in hunting; after getting him drunk, Gao Gong met with General Quel, who was testing the Ancient Robot army…

Thus, taking advantage of everyone being around, Gao Gong visited old acquaintances one by one, knowing the next meeting would be quite a while—at least a year and a half.
