Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 201: Chapter 180: One-Man Legion

”Nicely done!”

On the battlefield’s perimeter, aboard a military flying device, Zhang Feng stared at the scene of countless motorcycles roaring on the ground and muttered to himself.

Battle Saber Major General Zhang Feng, the strongest among the six major generals, known for his ruthlessness; only with such a character can he suppress the warlords of the Land of Flames.

In other deserts, the Security Corps rules supreme, but here, the Security Corps and warlords share power.

It took him quite an effort to decisively deal with some troublemakers, barely achieving a balanced situation.

Among all the troublemakers, ’God’ is the most defiant, even daring to feed the Security Corps’ messenger to the dogs.

He’s wanted to deal with them for a long time.

The reason for not taking action is simple: relying solely on the military strength of one desert isn’t enough to suppress them.

Mobilizing forces from other deserts would far exceed his Authority.

Now that someone is targeting them, Zhang Feng is ecstatic.

After all, that someone is somewhat an ally.

White mist surged higher as the Flame Motorcycle Faction charged, electronic music and flames intertwined within the mist.

Compared to the Flame Motorcycle Faction’s thousands of troops, even including logistics, the Mechanical Hunter Camp numbers fewer than 1000.

The clash between the two felt like a child confronting a strong adult.

However, the ’child’ didn’t feel like a child, instead perceiving the other as the real child.

Within the mist, towering black shadows began to move.

A Flame Boy atop the fastest steel spike car wildly sprayed the flamethrower, yelling madly, his gaze dazed and frantic like someone on drugs.

In the next moment, darkness fell before his eyes, a metal fist as thick as a water tank descended from above. His head was lightly touched and exploded like a watermelon, followed by his body and two long legs.

The punch flattened the motorcycle engine, leaving only a sticky pool of blood once the fist retracted.

One by one, mechanical giants appeared in the desert, with thick and solid mechanical arms, legs as thick as the arms, circular mecha pods, and people in the cockpit maneuvering metal levers.

”Die, trash!”

Xiaoju, an ordinary girl from the Cable Tribe, is now a mecha pilot!

To pilot the mecha, the girl shaved her head like a gourd, with numerous electrodes pasted over her head, nearly covering the entire cerebral cortex.

Through an external neural connection device, subtle movements that can’t be performed by control levers can be transmitted via nerves.

Xiaoju pulled the mechanical lever, stomped a Flame Boy to death, excitedly grabbed a motorcycle and hurled it far away, towards a tank resembling a porcupine, bristling with steel spikes, which exploded into flames upon impact.

’Ding’ ’Ding’ ’Ding’

Three steel spikes precisely struck the mecha pod, with three layers of bulletproof glass blocking the projectiles.

”You have weapons, I have weapons too!”

Xiaoju pressed the weapon button, and the spinal lift mechanism raised the weapon from her back. The mecha’s hands quickly grabbed a massive sword made from A-level Radiation Beast ribs and drew it out.

With one sweep of the biological sword, ten charging Flame Boys were cleaved in half—no, smashed to pieces.

Xiaoju’s adrenaline surged as the mecha charged ahead, the massive sword sweeping through motorcycles one after another, causing them to explode.

Finally, a Butcher stood in her way, a ’Divine Guard’ possessing a two-meter tall, robust physique, with a mechanical arm adorned with a large iron ball covered in steel spikes.

Unapologetically, this guy could beat a hundred Xiaoju.

If Xiaoju were out of the mecha, she’d have to lower her head and avoid such a formidable warrior.

His arms were thicker than her waist!

Yet now, mecha pilot Xiaoju clenched her jagged teeth, eyes filled with battle intent, and fiercely pulled the movement lever, causing the gigantic mechanical body to thunder forward.

”Fear, you big lug!”

The empire’s basic combat mecha, ’Berserker 1’, wielded a giant ten-meter sword with both hands, slashing down fiercely.

The Butcher’s eyes narrowed, lunging to the side as the ground erupted into a trench.

Before he could rise, the giant sword swung, sweeping toward him.

The Butcher hurriedly raised his mechanical arm, placing the thick arm shield in front, as at least 10 tons of force transmitted over, his small eyes widened, blood vessels bulging and bursting on his skin, and his whole body involuntarily staggered backward, both legs deeply embedded in the sand pit.

Spanning ten meters, a pit was carved out by sheer force.

However, the mecha moved like a human, raining down blows with the giant sword.

For once, the monster-like Butcher felt exhaustion.

”Take one move personally taught by the advisor,” Xiaoju solemnly uttered a few words.

”The Ten Thousand Stars Meteor Descending Strike!”

...

Watching these mechanical monstrosities rampage across the battlefield, Zhang Feng widened his eyes, his mouth unconsciously agape, a rare expression on the stern Battle Saber Major General.

What the hell is this!?

Zhang Feng’s first thought was Large Combat Robot.

But he immediately dismissed the idea.

The reason is simple, these Combat Robots are too expensive.

Each unit costs in the seven figures.

Throughout the Security Corps, fewer than three hundred are of this type.

Yet how would one explain these ’robots’ on the battlefield?

Confusion abounds!?

”General, these robots seem to be manned,” a combat strategist couldn’t help but remark.

Zhang Feng forced himself to calm down, and soon he discovered something strange. There were indeed people piloting these ’robots’ from inside, and a thought occurred to him.

”It seems they don’t need Combat Chips.”

The primary reason large Combat Robots are expensive is that Combat Chips are costly; their Combat Chips are custom-made.

But these types of ’robots’ seem not to require Combat Chips.

This made Zhang Feng think of an ancient term, ’Mecha.’

This was very similar to the ’Ancient Mecha’ in his memory.

However, ’Ancient Mecha’ also had the nickname ’Land Carrier’ not only because of its large size but because of its clumsiness, much like carriers rely more on fighter jets and missile systems; these ’Ancient Mecha’ were not meant for close combat.

”It’s actually a new type of Mecha!”

Not only was Zhang Feng surprised, but other forces watching this battle were equally shocked.

In the Black Market, similar scenes were being broadcast on virtual screens.

Watching the Mecha display divine power on the battlefield, their first reaction was, can these things be sold?

Where can they sell? How much?

The Mechanical Legion naturally doesn’t have to worry about costs; large Combat Robots can be equipped for free.

However, as local forces, they must consider cost-effectiveness in any endeavor.

Undoubtedly, these Ancient Mecha have a very high cost-effectiveness.

After all, human life is not as expensive as chips.

Many people discovered that these Ancient Mecha were divided into three types: close-combat models with uniform arms and legs, long-range models with a stable base and tank treads, and a heavy Mecha resembling a giant bear.

In terms of numbers, long-range Mecha were the most, followed by close-combat Mecha, and the bear-like heavy Mecha were the fewest, only three.

The three types of Mecha charged through, and the numbers of Flame Boy were no longer decreasing normally but were in exponential decline.

The area was strewn with broken limbs and debris.

”The Flame Motorcycle Faction is finished.”

”No, it depends on whether the Divine Guard is dispatched. If the Guards are deployed, there’s still fight left.”

On a stage made of electronic drums, a two-headed priest was loudly chanting something, and the next moment, terrifying thick smoke emerged again; within the smoke, there seemed to be a sound of a whistle, and the next moment, segments of ’Oil Tankers’ shot out.

These ’Oil Tankers’ were about 20 meters long, with thick armor on the surface, and on the armor were numerous heads.

These heads seemed alive, each shouting loudly, their mouths open, revealing charred teeth, and the next moment, a fire column over 30 meters long spouted out.

On one ’Oil Tanker,’ there were about a hundred heads, spread in all directions, and once all mouths opened, a hundred fire columns shot out simultaneously.

”Human-headed vehicle, ’God’ truly is a madman!”

”Have those monsters been deployed!”

In the face of extreme disadvantage on the front lines, a normal Commander would typically first gather the remnants of the troops and then devise a counterattack.

But ’God’ has never been so reasonable.

Even in the Land of Flames, considered insane, ’God’ was the most insane of all.

The foremost few Mecha charged forward, their weapons striking the Oil Tanker, but unexpectedly, the surface material of the Oil Tanker was unknown, and door-sized weapons couldn’t cut through it.

The next moment, a dozen heads around simultaneously turned direction, and a dozen columns of fire engulfed the Mecha’s surface; the driver’s pupils contracted, and without hesitation, he pulled a device similar to a ’handbrake.’

The connecting device was cut, intense pain in the head followed as the Mecha Pod shot backward, and within three seconds, a loud explosion occurred, as the Mecha exploded.

The Mecha Pod hit the ground, causing the pilot to be bloodied, and with great effort, he crawled out, only to be swarmed by countless screaming Flame Boys.

These ’Human-headed Canisters’ were quite fierce, rampaging uncontrollably, and even close-combat Mecha couldn’t handle them.

Of course, this was also because weapons suited for Mecha hadn’t been developed yet.

The front-line combat suddenly became chaotic.

Given the numbers of the Flame Motorcycle Faction and the Mechanical Hunter, even with a loss ratio not of 10 to 1 but 100 to 1, it was still a highly unprofitable deal.

Huang Wen frowned slightly and said, ”Now it’s your turn.”

The next moment, countless Single Molecule Lines shot out, and various Mechanical Hunters leapt into the air.

Thanks to the good precedent set by someone, now those who can’t use Single Molecule Lines are embarrassed to call themselves Hunters.

”Daisila, let’s see who can collect the most heads!”

In mid-air, Matsushima Keiko shouted.

”There’s no need to compare,” Daisila shook her head, ”we’re no match for Old Huang.”

”Old Huang, isn’t he in logistics?”

Daisila shook her head, and in mid-air, eight spider legs transformed and, as they descended, impaled eight Flame Boys.

”You need to understand one thing, with the popularization of the Hunter Module, I am no longer the most advanced Mechanical Hunter.”

”If it’s not you, then who is?” Keiko was quite unconvinced.

”You’ll find out soon.”

Daisila pointed towards the sky, and they saw a swarm of black dots approaching; they were Huang Wen’s drones, descending like rain, with most falling into the sand, and a small portion landing on top of Flame Boys and Motorcycle Spearmen.

All the drones transformed mid-air into ’Tightening Rings.’

The next moment, the affected Flame Boys began attacking their own.

Metallic eels burrowed out of the ground, and in the sky, Flashing Sparrows emitted radiance like flash grenades on the front lines.

Every head of man and beast wore a ’Tightening Ring.’

Under the Controller Module

Huang Wen alone constituted a Mechanical Beast Legion.
