Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

’Please confirm your name’

In front of the young man was the dark, rain-laden Nightless City.

This environment made the young man think of his profession and his living conditions.

’Rainy Night with a Knife and No Umbrella’

’Name confirmed, please wait to enter the ”Cyber Realm”, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5...’

Though the young man hadn’t played many games, he couldn’t help but be stunned. Was it over just like that?

The next moment, a forceful gravity pushed him forward, thrusting the young man into this blurry world, where everything started becoming clear: thick radiation clouds, pouring rain, and a sci-fi themed city in the downpour.

’Are the special effects of this game just too good?’

The vision of Rainy Night with a Knife and No Umbrella went dark.

When he woke again, his left eye’s vision was blurry, and the right eye’s vision was pitch black.

His hearing seemed normal.

”Hey, do you think we can sneak through this time by transforming the Primordial People into Bionic Men? Isn’t that redundant?”

”The higher-ups just want Bionic Men. What can I do? Just make do; after all, they’re a bunch of foreigners.”

A strong sense of pressure emerged from his right eye socket, followed by intense pain.

Before the game started, he could actually adjust the pain level. However, Rainy Night with a Knife and No Umbrella, trusting in his own willpower, thought it was just a broken game and filled in 100% almost without hesitation.

Now he regretted it.

Fortunately, he gritted his teeth and didn’t scream out loud.

As the swelling subsided, the right eye’s vision changed from darkness to blurriness, and gradually became clear over time.

Taking advantage of this time, he opened the panel, and the main attributes were a series of 4s.

’So it’s not about the player’s physical fitness determining the game character’s attributes, but it’s random?’

As his vision cleared, Rainy Night with a Knife and No Umbrella discreetly scanned left and right, confirming that the people around had started moving before he sat up.

Contrary to the high-tech environment he expected, the place felt more like a Black Workshop to Rainy Night with a Knife and No Umbrella.

A cramped room, walls blackened by smoke, plastic barrels filled with blood-red liquid, pots and jars scattered all over the floor, large welding equipment.

”Damn, this is intense right from the start?”

”Where is this, the back kitchen of my delivery order?”

The three players immediately recognized their buddies, simply because they looked much more normal compared to the distorted, twitching Bionic Men around them.

It was natural for the three of them to huddle together.

”Brother, what’s your name?”

”I Love Eating Buns.”

”I am a Big Muscle Dominator.”

”Rainy Night with a Knife and No Umbrella.”

I Love Eating Buns and I am a Big Muscle Dominator exchanged glances and stood in solemn respect.

”So it’s the Master of Literature!”

”I’ve read your work more than once, and I can’t put it down every time. It keeps me up all night.”

Rainy Night with a Knife and No Umbrella stayed silent for a moment and changed the topic.

”Do you have any information we can exchange?”

Baozi and Muscle Dominator exchanged a glance, a big question mark flashed in their eyes.

If someone dares to choose a username like this, shouldn’t they wear their charm on their face?

Isn’t it supposed to be an open charm, rather than a secret indulgence?

”Ahem, I’ll go first, I woke up earlier, and I heard those NPCs saying they seem to want to fabricate a batch of Bionic Men and sell us to the factory.” Baozi spoke first.

”They want to make us work illegally? What a joke!”

”I think this might be a task, maybe we can change professions.”

”Change profession to what, Factory Director? Do you think we’re going to the Eastern Depot,” Big Muscle Dominator mocked.

”What do you think?”

The two looked at the Master of Literature.

”Someone’s coming!”

Rainy Night with a Knife and No Umbrella rolled his eyes and moved his limbs like he was doing a zombie dance, just like the other Bionic Men.

Is this guy a dance student? It’s so alike!

The other two instinctively imitated him, though they didn’t look like normal people, they also didn’t resemble the other Bionic Men.

”Hey, it’s just a game, does it need to be this realistic?”

”Who cares, just don’t be the standout,” Muscle Dominator and Baozi whispered.

The iron door was opened, an NPC impatiently banging on a projection drum, and each hit produced visible sound wave special effects in the air.

The stimulation of the sound made the Bionic Men twist their bodies grotesquely and walk towards the door.

”Whoa, kind of high-tech.”

”What’s that, didn’t you see the other guy has a mechanical arm?”

Rainy Night with a Knife and No Umbrella frowned at the two, quietly falling behind, palming a carving knife.

’Level 5 Mechanical Transformer, upper and lower body uncoordinated, which means the other person probably only transformed an arm. As long as I get close, there’s a chance to kill him.’

The Bionic Men production room at the Black Workshop had three in total, at this moment, more than forty Bionic Men waddled out.

Suddenly, a voice rang out.

”Is there any player buddies?” a Bionic Man suddenly called, looking around.

Big Muscle Dominator was about to respond when Baozi pulled him back.

And the NPC’s eyes flashed with a fierce glow, taking three steps to reach him.

”Are you the village chief? Any missions—”

Before the other person could finish speaking, the NPC’s mechanical fist was imprinted on his face with a ’bang’, producing a critical strike with twice the crushing attributes.

’Damn, so fierce!’

’Damn, no censorship, how did this game pass review?’

Fists fell like raindrops, with blood spurting all around, in mere seconds, the player buddy’s blood volume hit rock bottom, rendered motionless on the ground.

”Turns out one wasn’t well transformed.”

The NPC muttered to himself, wiping the blood from his hands on the player, just about to get up when a Bionic Man suddenly burst from the crowd, fiercely determined to risk it all, knocking over this ’Newbie Village Winter Soldier’, following with a pounce, both hands fiercely clasping around the person’s neck, the carving knife accurately piercing the major artery, while five fingers of the other hand tightly wedged into the mechanical arm’s seam, even as bones fractured, flesh was ground, refusing to let go.

And those minced flesh precisely disrupted the mechanical arm’s operation.

Ten seconds later, the ’Newbie Village Winter Soldier’ bled out to death.

In Big Muscle Dominator and Baozi’s astonished expressions, Rainy Night with a Knife and No Umbrella almost without a pause, allocated the two attribute points from leveling up to Endurance, and stood up, pulling the electronic drum operator from the opponent, and inserted the handgun at the other’s waist into his own.

Soon, under his manipulation, the more than forty Bionic Men advanced towards the door like a Corpse Tide.

And Rainy Night with a Knife and No Umbrella mixed among them again, disappearing with strange movements.

This series of operations flowed smoothly, taking no more than ten seconds.

Soon, gunfire erupted outside.

Big Muscle Dominator and Baozi exchanged glances and rushed out, just in time to see Rainy Night with a Knife and No Umbrella pushing a body off the truck.

”Are you getting on?” Rainy Night with a Knife and No Umbrella asked.

”Yes, yes, yes!”

”Driver, take us along!”
