Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Gao Gong and his team worked busily, yet they still could not locate the missing ’Intelligent Core’.

’Planet Environment Simulation Technology’, ’Shipborne Anti-gravity Technology’, ’Low-Temperature Cryogenic Pod’, ’Medium Energy Shield’, ’Star Map Simulation’...

These are all Level 2 Civilization Technologies, and they are all functioning normally.

So, there’s only one possibility.

The spaceship’s ’Intelligent Core’ was most likely taken by someone from within their own ranks.

It might not even be a theft.

If they had the skill, wouldn’t it be easier to just take off with the spaceship?

”What use is just an Intelligent Core?”

When Director Du called up the coordinate system on the Star Map and confirmed that it hadn’t been tampered with, he couldn’t help but wonder aloud.

”Spaceship-grade Intelligent Cores are custom-made; they are like a large AI with their own processing system, and the computational power they can enhance is quite terrifying.”

”If the other party wasn’t after the secret data of the spaceship but only needed this ’Intelligent Core’, then it makes sense.”

Seeing Director Du’s ’Factory Girl Attribute’ kicking in, eager to disassemble the spaceship for research, Gao Gong quickly stopped him, seriously saying, ”I didn’t bring you here to find things.”

”Then what is it for?”

Gao Gong activated the spaceship core’s Planet Simulation Technology. In an instant, the surrounding scenes vanished, the earth shrank, clouds layered upon layers, and one golden hall after another rose from the ground.

Director Du was stunned by the sight, even clearly feeling the sensation of the gale brushing through his hair.

With a thought from Gao Gong, the next moment, lightning flashed and thunder roared, rolling dark clouds surrounded the two, and the violent charge in the air made Director Du’s hair stand on end, instinctively drawing closer to Gao Gong.

”Do you still remember that ’God’?”

”The one who took cartoons as real?” Director Du thought of that guy who was too clever by half, and couldn’t help but chuckle.

Gao Gong shook his head, ”I don’t know the origin of the ’God’, but he is definitely not an idiot. He lost himself in the collective consciousness, added with the indulgence in the technology provided by this Research Institute, that’s how he became what he is now.”

”You mean?”

”Becoming ’Machine Will’ means constantly enduring the pressure from the operation of the Machine System.”

”This ’God’ guy, just by bearing the pressure of a spaceship’s intelligence, turned into this,” Gao Gong seriously looked at the other, ”The change of a life form isn’t a matter to be taken lightly. Have you really thought it through?”

Du Zhaodi looked at Gao Gong blankly. After a long while, she showed a very bright smile.

”Thank you for your concern.”

She interrupted Gao Gong’s words.

”You know, since you left back then, the factory system started to become ’unmanned.’ Everything that couldn’t keep up with system operations had to undergo human modification.”

Du Zhaodi looked at her slender and calloused hands.

”I was terrified then, because no matter how hard I tried, even using banned substances, I couldn’t keep up with the speed of Artificial Intelligence.”

”I was afraid that by the time you returned, I would have been completely remodeled, even my brain’s emotional organs might be removed.”

”Colleagues left one by one to undergo modification, turning into humanoid machines, without emotions, and without preserving any memory data.”

”This experience of being ’chased’ by death almost drove me insane, I felt trapped in a mechanical cage, shouting and crying to no avail.”

”Until one day, a familiar voice sounded, it was my deceased mother, she told me how, when I was young, I loved machines, loved taking things apart, and was such a tomboy. She was worried I wouldn’t be able to marry.”

”It was then that I realized, I didn’t hate machines, I actually loved them. What I hated was the feeling of being controlled by machines.”

Du Zhaodi’s hand slowly clenched.

”I was born to be in control of machines.”

She lifted her head, eyes bright, ”Now, do you understand what I mean?”

Gao Gong shrugged.

”Since you insist on it—”

For the first time, he opened Director Du’s attribute panel.

Name: Du Zhaodi

Race: Primordial People

Mechanical Energy: 50000

Personal Attributes: Power 4, Agility 5, Endurance 7, Intelligence 66, Perception 55, Personality 50

Template: Daughter of Machines, Heart of Creation, Mechanical Genius

My goodness! Three templates, with three main attributes over 50 points, and one of them is Personality!

Even someone like Fat Xiang, who can’t even lie, only has a Personality of 17 points, could it be that you are a ’Mechanical Bodhisattva’ come to earth?

For the first time, Gao Gong felt that he truly had the potential to be the protagonist of a planet, with a casual draw resulting in an ’SSR’ card.

Or perhaps, Director Du is the true protagonist of the planet, and I’m actually playing the role of the elder?

...

As for the whereabouts of the ’Intelligent Core’, Gao Gong didn’t really care much; it was just a pretext, because he remembered that the task reward included ’Civilization Secrets.’

Based on his previous life’s experience, this ’Civilization Secrets’ is generally a piece of memory, and nine times out of ten it’s related to the ’Intelligent Core.’

Although the ’God’ can’t die for the moment and the task can’t be completed, it doesn’t mean there’s nothing else he can do.

In the previous task, within the G Team, Gao Gong obtained an ’Alliance Specialties’ from the Motorcycle Gang Camp, and upon opening it, it was a lottery wheel with three chances to draw, the wheel filled with a plethora of rewards, and a small ball within it.

After giving the small figurine’s head a vigorous rub, Gao Gong felt his good luck was sufficient, then he spun the wheel.

In the next moment, the wheel spun rapidly, and soon after, there was the sound of something heavy dropping.

[You received an Advanced Electronic Score—Flame Rhapsody]

Flame Rhapsody: The furious electronic music can stimulate cell vitality, and for genetic products, it is an ultra-powerful electronic stimulant.

Uh, looks like my identity as an old guitar demon can’t stay hidden any longer.

Second draw.

[You received 1000 experience points]

Pff, trash.

Third draw.

[You received Mechanical Divinity Blueprint]

Oh, not bad.

’Machine Will’ doesn’t only follow one path. From what Gao Gong knows, there are nine paths, and among the top three paths, one is the ’Mechanical Divinity’ path.

If ’God’ took this path, perhaps he wouldn’t have lost his mind.

In the cosmos, the ’Divine Race’ is also considered a large race. 99% of the Divine Race are cultivated, there are man-made carbon-based deities, naturally there are man-made mechanical deities too.

’Mechanical Divinity’ is considered the first step of mechanical godhood.

Director Du has some good fortune.

As long as divinity is condensed, the pollution brought by the Machine System can be reduced by 90% at least.

Soon, another piece of good news came.

And that was Professor Han had arrived too.

With the entrance of the Brain Demon, the task of ’Twilight of the Gods’ can finally be settled.
