Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Human perception is determined by biological signals. Internally, these signals manifest as electrocardiogram, electroencephalogram, electromyogram, body temperature, and blood pressure; externally, they are touch, breath, and emotion.

For the first time, Du Zhaodi felt she transcended the realm of humanity and entered a broader world.

This world was composed of electrical signals, industrial data, and mechanical units. They seemed to be calling her, inviting her to become one with them.

This massive data flood instantly submerged her.

However, Du Zhaodi remained extraordinarily lucid, even joyfully swimming through it, reminding her of the feeling of swimming by the river as a child.

Mechanical Template: Daughter of Machines

Effect 1: You have extraordinary perception of machines, with a +15% success rate in exploiting mechanical system vulnerabilities.

Effect 2: You can receive affection from AI, mechanical life forms, and intelligent machines, Charm +100

Effect 3: In the Mechanical Realm, your identity is more easily recognized, and you are more likely to receive hidden tasks.

Gao Gong looked at the big data on the screen and found that the refresh rate of the big data had increased by at least 30%. In other words, within moments, the production efficiency of the three bases improved by 30%.

This was the effect of another template.

Mechanical Template: Heart of Creation

Effect 1: You possess a strong passion for machinery manufacturing, production efficiency +30%, stamina consumption -20%

Effect 2: Your success rate in creating rare items is +15%

Effect 3: With machine sublimation, you can always grasp that fleeting inspiration, with a high probability of enhancing mechanical creations’ performance, and a small probability of elevating a mechanical creation by one grade.

”As expected of a woman with three templates, you must hold off against the data surge.”

The reason large AI is more difficult than ordinary AI is twofold.

First, large AI belongs to the top of the AI food chain; a complete mechanical system is needed for one to be born, making it inherently rare.

Second, the intelligence of artificial intelligence is not what’s hard; the key is wisdom. The larger the data ocean, the more challenging it is to navigate.

This is also why, in the universe, most artificial intelligences first follow the path of bionic main race before surpassing the main race.

First, become a wise life form, then become a large wise life form.

The spaceship core alarm suddenly sounded.

’Unknown data invasion, unknown data invasion’

In Base No. 1’s unmanned factory, the same alarm sounded.

Several security guards hurriedly opened the office door and found Zhao Tong.

”General Manager Zhao, for some reason, the power consumption of the energy conversion center has suddenly doubled.”

”Also, many of the closed production lines have automatically started and can’t be turned off.”

”General Manager, should we pull the power switch?”

Zhao Tong remained calm, saying, ”Don’t worry, this is a new technology experiment from headquarters, it’ll be fine in a while.”

The security guards left, half-believing.

Zhao Tong didn’t explain what new technology it was.

In fact, he didn’t know what this technology was either.

Meanwhile, in Base No. 2, new types of mecha began to move without pilots, even installing their lower limbs and inserting data processing modules themselves.

Overall, it looked very horrifying.

Meanwhile, at Flame Pass, the former ’Immigration Research Institute’, one by one, huge ventilation ducts cracked open from the earth’s surface, and ancient robots walked out from them.

”Sister Xiaoju, what is going on?”

Sister Xiaoju gaped at these ancient robots. She had lived here for almost a month now, and it was her first time knowing that an army was hidden beneath Flame Pass.

Rather than calling ancient robots ’people’, they are better termed as combat machines. Some lacked heads, and some resembled tanks with legs.

They had human forms, beast forms, and some could not be discerned at all. The only thing in common was that they were all rusty, looking very ancient.

”Unexpected surprise!”

Gao Gong looked at the alliance panel, astonished by the sudden addition of the ’Ancient Robot Army (10000)’ and didn’t know what to say.

Though every Imperial Research Institute harbors cutting-edge technology with strong defensive capabilities, it comes as no surprise.

But for these ancient robots to remain undiscovered until now, that truly is a sizeable miracle.

If the Flame Motorcycle Faction had possessed such an army back then, things would have been much more challenging.

After all, everything about the Empire can be considered outdated by today’s standards, except their firepower, even now, remains ferociously high.

These robots converged into a tide, moving towards the spaceship center, carrying various dangerous weapons.

Xiaoju’s expression changed, she quickly pulled the control lever, attempting to block their path.

However, unexpectedly, the control lever wouldn’t move.

The mecha behind her detoured around her, heading towards the spaceship center.

”Sister Xiaoju, Sister Xiaoju! My mecha isn’t responding, what should I do!?”

Xiaoju had just intended to speak when her figure suddenly swayed, the safety belt painfully pressing against her chest as her mecha also became unresponsive!

Moreover, wearing the neural-link helmet, she felt a sense of ’urgency’ from the mecha.

As if it were going on a pilgrimage!

If the large AI in the virtual side is a standard one person, one world.

Then, in the industrial side, the large AI is hardware becoming spirited.

Every part of the hardware panel became part of a massive mechanical system, acquiring its own ’soul’, with the soul’s core located in the Palace of the Sky.

Gao Gong looked up to the sky, ’Planetary Environment Simulation’ automatically activated, presenting scenes from his memory before him.

The world in dismal tones, chimneys spewing nuclear waste black smoke, a massive mechanical architecture complex, crisscrossing mechanical transmission tracks, and robots tirelessly at work.

”Truly an annoying environment.”

Gao Gong now finally understood why the original owner ran away. This work environment is worse than a construction site, and if it were him, he would also run away.

But Director Du seems to like it a lot.

On the prosthetic factory’s production line, arms and thighs were spit out from the production workshop, and assembled under the operation arms.

As different body parts were assembled, this robot gradually took shape.

The more Gao Gong looked, the more familiar it seemed. Damn, isn’t this me?

Tens of thousands of ’Gao Gongs’ simultaneously looked up and looked at Gao Gong.

At the same time, outside the Palace of the Sky, tens of thousands of ancient robots, including mechas, knelt down simultaneously.

And Director Du slowly opened her eyes.

This time, her horizon was composed of tens of thousands of cameras, sensors, and even the perspectives of ancient robots.

Director Du, omnipresent!

[You successfully created the large AI ’Du Zhaodi’. Specialization Points +1, Experience +200000, ’Du Zhaodi’s favorability +1000]

...

In the ”Cyber Realm”, ordinary NPCs don’t have favorability, after all, human hearts are fickle. On the contrary, some AIs have favorability because their bottom logic is fixed.

At this moment, Director Du was moving her body. The body had no problems, the crack on her skull was also repaired using bionic technology, showing no trace of a scar on the surface. However, to regrow the shoulder-length short hair, it would take some time.

As the Rich Lady’s Little Wolf Dog, Gao Gong has always been attentive in service and has prepared various types of wigs long ago.

Director Du gave Gao Gong a sidelong glance and chose a wig that was exactly the same as before, shoulder-length short hair.

Director Du’s aesthetic sense is still consistently ’simple’.

[’Du Zhaodi’s favorability towards you +100]

Gao Gong was amused, is Du Director’s favorability so easy to brush? He shamelessly moved closer and smacked a kiss.

”What are you doing!” Director Du glared at Gao Gong fiercely, her face serious.

[’Du Zhaodi’s favorability towards you +100]

Gao Gong suddenly discovered the second function of the system.

While Director Du was exercising her body, Gao Gong secretly poked her and revealed her attributes.

Name: Du Zhaodi

Race: Mechanical Life

Level: 55

Mechanical Energy: ???

Personal Attributes: ???

Skills: ???

Domain: ??

Uh, it actually can’t be seen.

This is also normal. Beyond level 10, most attributes can’t be displayed. Beyond level 20, special investigation skills are needed. Beyond level 30, not even the name can be found.

The only thing that caught Gao Gong’s attention was the domain, because not every large AI has a domain. The larger the domain, the stronger the AI.

Just after the surgery, I’m afraid even Director Du herself doesn’t know her abilities.

And the best way to test it is to have a fight.

However, seeing the five-digit ancient robot army outside, Gao Gong dispelled this thought.

He is neither Rebel A nor Sister Rose, he does not want to court abuse.

...

The turmoil at the Flame Pass quickly calmed down under the appeasement of higher authorities, except there were a lot more patrolling ancient robots on the street.

These robots do not have AI, but they are very smart and can even conduct basic communication.

Director Du fell into a deep sleep, as the surgery consumed a tremendous amount of her brain power.

And while Director Du was asleep, Gao Gong came to an underground cell to meet the Black Market Butcher.

”I heard you were once a Prosthetic Doctor at Nightless City?”

The Butcher’s eyes lit up when he saw Gao Gong, and he said humbly, ”I have seen the great sir, I indeed once worked in Nightless City.”

”Are you an individual or part of a gang?”

”A gang that has been eradicated, not worth mentioning.”

”Do you have specialized modification techniques?”

”In front of you, sir, there are no advanced techniques worth mentioning,” the Butcher continued, ”but I personally am willing to serve you to compensate for all your losses!”

A Prosthetic Doctor’s allegiance is something that ninety-nine percent of native warlords could not refuse.

It’s just that this guy is a bit cunning.

Gao Gong stopped talking nonsense, and from his right eye, a light mist flowed out like mercury, soon covering the whole cell.

But to his surprise, as the mist gradually seeped into the other party’s body, a pair of electronic shields suddenly lit up in the other’s eyes.

’Tripath Three-type Electronic Defense Wall, blocking all psychological suggestions, hacker invasions, and hypnotic technology for you.’

The Butcher’s confused eyes quickly regained clarity, even hiding a hint of smugness deep in them.

”Installed a brain firewall, huh, truly a city dweller,” Gao Gong revealed a smile that made the other party’s hair stand on end, ”since the soft approach doesn’t work, then we’ll have to use the hard one.”

Gao Gong got up and patted the shoulder of the person behind him.

”It’s up to you now, seek revenge for any grievance.”

Tamil grinned maliciously; his palms, elbows, and knees slowly extruded bloody blade limbs.

Screams quickly echoed.
