Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 196: Chapter 175: Symbiote Knowledge

Base Number Two

Professor Han and his young assistant, Xu Xiaoming, arrived at Gao Gong’s territory.

Xu Xiaoming was a twenty-something with glasses, one eye appeared bright and spirited, while the other seemed somewhat dull; he was a guy with asymmetrical eyes.

According to Professor Han, this guy’s brain was so developed that it squeezed the space for his cerebellum to grow, so he wasn’t good at anything related to movement, but when it came to thinking, this guy was a genius.

”Professor, when I meet the boss later, what should I say to him?”

Meeting the legendary boss for the first time, Xu Xiaoming was a bit nervous.

Professor Han thought for a moment, then said:

”Just talk about cat ears, he should like that.”

Xu Xiaoming brightened up, ”Really? The boss also likes cat ears?”

Soon, the mechanical gate opened, revealing a first floor of at least 500 square meters, with a full thirty mechas placed on it, these four to five-meter-high mechanical monsters made Xu Xiaoming tremble all over.

Real men, how could they not like mechas?

Sorry, Xu Xiaoming didn’t like them.

On the first floor, some mechas seemed to have reached the usage stage, the boss’s beloved apprentice, Helli Wilder, was holding a megaphone, directing the mecha operator not far away.

”Lift your left foot.”

”Lift your right foot.”

”Turn around.”

As a remnant of the Empire, Professor Han had seen mechas before, but in his impression, Empire mechas were always known for being clumsy and oversized; the flexibility of the one in front of him exceeded his knowledge.

He focused his gaze on the cockpit, or more precisely, the electrode patches on the pilot’s head, which were densely attached to the head like dog skin plaster, neural lines linking to the processor above the cockpit.

’Mature neural driving technology, that wasn’t developed in the Imperial Era.’

Outside, there were already rumors of Gao Gong’s identity as an Imperial descendant.

But only Professor Han knew that this so-called ’Imperial descendant’ was a complete sham.

So he really was curious about where Gao Gong got so many mature technology solutions, but he pushed this curiosity to the bottom of his heart.

The two went up to the second floor, where in a prosthetic body surgery room, Gao Gong was performing a modification surgery on a Mechanical Hunter.

Once the ’Mechanical Weapon Transformation Hall’ is built, these kinds of ’Hunter Modules’ can be autonomously installed, like an automated factory. For now, though, it required Gao Gong’s manual operation.

This time, he was installing a ’Flying Bird Module,’ equipped similarly to a certain ’Hawk,’ although its burst ability wasn’t as strong, given there wasn’t an advanced energy blueprint, but Gao Gong referenced the abilities of various flying species, adding ’Invisibility Mode,’ ’Electric Flash Mode,’ ’Exoskeleton Mode,’ among all the Hunter Modules, it and the Spider Module had the most transformation modes.

Gao Gong soon came out, wiping his hands, and gestured for the two to go to the adjacent office.

The office did not have a secretary, not because Gao Gong didn’t want one, but because Director Du did not allow such a prominent presence.

”Once the advanced module operates successfully, then the sub-modules can go into mass production.”

Every set of ’Hunter Modules’ belongs to advanced equipment and has requirements for the attributes and profession of the implanter.

But sub-modules do not.

For example, the sub-modules of the Spider Module, Spider Armor, Body-Sensing Spider Legs, Spider Poison Gun.

Or, for example, the Gorilla Module’s Heavy Mechanical Arm, Heavy Mechanical Leg, Biochemical Ape Muscle, Gorilla Rocket Cannon.

Each ’Hunter Module’ can develop 3 to 5 types of sub-modules.

These all belong to ’Alliance Specialties.’

This is also Gao Gong’s first step in infiltrating the weapon market.

Only a large number of basic weapon users can bring forth geniuses to enter the Hunter profession.

According to Gao Gong’s previous life developing civilization experience, players are essential, civilization’s advancement couldn’t keep up with version updates, but solely relying on players wasn’t enough either, as everyone knows, the 4th Celestial Calamity had talents like Lvu Bu and interests like Cao Cao’s.

Belonging to those who dare risk their lives when the blood bar shines.

Professor Han handed over a thick stack of documents.

”All the advanced cells from the Beast Tide have been extracted, a total of 91 types, originating from different types of B-level Radiation Beasts...”

These cells, after artificial cultivation, will be the foundation for producing advanced biological plugins.

Professor Han gave Xu Xiaoming a look, and Xu Xiaoming hurriedly handed over another document.

”Boss, this is a basic model of the new Bio-Fusion Armor we developed, along with a type of reproductive body weapon.”

Gao Gong looked at the photo.

The Bio-Fusion Armor was blue, indicating it wasn’t the same formula used by the Xiao Family, with only five energy ejection ports, even among the same level of Bio-Fusion Armor, it was a relatively weaker type.

As for the reproductive body weapon, it was a bone spear, the shaft’s surface covered with a mucus similar to ’Red Liquid,’ capable of transforming into various weapons based on the spear, like scythes, lance spears, long whips.

This time, learning from the ’Red Liquid’ lesson, the spear shaft had biological inhalation ports, once the switch was closed, the ports would absorb the ’Bio-Fusion Liquid,’ preventing the item from rebelling.

”Focus the development on reproductive body weapons; we can’t compete with the Xiao Family’s Black Body Military when it comes to similar armors.”

”Yes, my mentor and I think the same,” Xu Xiaoming said excitedly, ”and weapons don’t have to consider biological rejection, our reproductive body weapons can be made wilder.”

Wild? Aren’t you the one who likes cat ears?

Do you actually like sexy wild cats?

After Xu Xiaoming finished reporting, Professor Han had him wait outside.

Through the glass, the two saw Xu Xiaoming grinning go up to Helli, only to be impatiently dismissed by her, and Gao Gong suddenly said, ”Do you trust him that much, giving him such important work?”

Sub-modules can be sold publicly, and Gao Gong has also agreed to terms with ’Mas Sharpness.’

But even if ’Reproductive Armor’ is sold, it can only be sold on the dark net, belonging to secrets within secrets.

”I don’t have much time,” Professor Han sighed, ”I’ve been dreaming of my body a lot recently.”

Dreaming about the original body?

I thought bionic men only dreamt of electric sheep.

Carbon-based species can die, robots can die, bionic men can also die.

It’s just that the death of robots is downtime.

Whereas the death of bionic men is the ’crack of virtual personality.’

Professor Han has been falling into a daze recently, a sign of ’old age.’

Gao Gong covertly curled his lip.

What a joke, unless you use it for several decades, how could you let it hang?

Carbon-based species can elevate their bloodlines to extend their lifespan, bionic men naturally have their ways to prolong life too.

And coincidentally, he knows this method.

However, he doesn’t plan to share it.

As the saying goes, a dying man must give it his all, so let the other party contribute tirelessly to the great cause of the empire under the ’threat’ of ’death.’

[Your personality -1]

Fortunately, Professor Han quickly changed the subject; he took out an implantation chamber, seemingly from a research institute.

”The truly important data, to prevent me from forgetting, I’ve stored inside it.”

Gao Gong put on the implantation chamber, quickly, a flood of knowledge swept in like a tide.

[You’ve acquired full level professional knowledge [Cell Implantation]]

[You’ve acquired full level professional knowledge [Liquid Organism]]

[You’ve acquired full level professional knowledge [Small Parasitology]]

The Reproduction Technology category flickered with these three pieces of knowledge.

Combined with [Weapon Transplantation] professional knowledge, half of the Reproduction Technology row is now illuminated.

”Worthy of a master of bionics, beautifully done!”

Backtracking knowledge is more challenging than backtracking technology, because the prerequisite for backtracking knowledge is that you must be a master in a domain to connect similar domains.

”Do your best, strive to develop more Reproduction Technology data before you die.”

”A dying man’s words are kind; you must invest your finite life into the infinite imperial cause.”

Professor Han: ”...”

Hey, I’m about to die, shouldn’t you advise me to eat and sleep well, yet you still want me to work hard?

Do you have any humanity?

At this moment, the doorbell rang; Gao Gong glanced at the camera and immediately jumped up.

”Go, go, get to work, get busy, don’t even think of slacking off, or I’ll dance on your grave and disturb you to death.”

”...”

Professor Han and Xu Xiaoming were hustled out of the door by Gao Gong, Xu Xiaoming didn’t even get a chance to discuss the art of cat ears.

After sending off the two men, Gao Gong’s expression changed, his smile as warm as can be, as kind as can be, a perfect 45-degree body angle, just like a Japanese waiter.

”Welcome Director Du to inspect the work, please come in, please sit, Helli, stop tinkering below the mecha and quickly come over to serve the tea.”

Du Zhaodi rolled her pretty white eyes, oddly endearing when paired with her somewhat dark eye circles.

”Let’s say first, I still have a lot of work to do.”

Gao Gong cheerfully pressed her into the boss’s chair, and then handed over a corporate registration form.

Du Gao Technology

”This is——” Du Zhaodi was surprised.

Though seemingly inconspicuous, this thing is a ’Military Contractor’ qualification certificate.

Generally, getting this certificate requires meeting two conditions: a peer recommendation and enough contribution points to the Mother City.

The former is unlikely, and the latter is difficult too.

Yet, Gao Gong managed it.

Du Zhaodi seriously studied this certificate, which was less than two pages long; it registered Mecha Technology, Biotechnology, Mechanical Module.

One could say, the most valuable items in the base are all listed here.

As for Du Gao Technology, Director Du owns 100% of shares.

An expression of gratitude flashed quickly in Du Zhaodi’s eyes, but she still insisted, ”Wouldn’t handing these over to her be better?”

”No way, with Director Du’s talent, you’re definitely a future industrial magnate; as for that woman, you can tell her face is dark just by her surname.”

Du Zhaodi looked at him, pursed her lips, and after a long while, said, ”Have dinner with me tonight.”

”Sure, absolutely no problem.”

Gao Gong embraced her happily.

Moments later, Du Zhaodi suddenly pushed him away, her face slightly reddened, disdainful, ”I don’t like using secondhand goods.”

”No problem, I love using them; secondhand goods work great.”

After a warm moment between the two, Du Zhaodi suddenly said, ”I have something to tell you.”

”Mm.”

”I want to become Machine Will.”
