Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 191: Chapter 170: Valkyrie

Gao Gong dares to swear to the heavens that this ’Little Crimson Empress’ was not born by him.

At best, he just assisted her birth.

The only connection between the two is that they both shared her mother’s, A-level Crimson Empress’s, bloodline.

If you must discuss relationships, they are more like half-siblings.

However, clearly, no one present cared about what Gao Gong thought. The Little Woman, Momo, Bean Sprouts, and other girls were pressing against the glass, wide-eyed, watching the little empress crawling out from the eggshell.

”She’s just too cute!” Momo couldn’t help but exclaim.

The newly emerged little empress was about the size of a Barbie doll, her vulnerable parts covered in tight-fitting blood armor. Her head full of red hair was different from Sister Rose’s flame-like red, closer to a blood color, draped over her petite shoulders, and her two blue pupils were staring dazedly forward.

She’s even quite adorable.

Gao Gong felt his ’soul of figures’ starting to awaken. As a manga artist, collecting figures was naturally one of his hobbies too.

And the little empress also saw Gao Gong, her eyes brightened, and she lunged over, only to unsurprisingly bump into the glass, making a ’bang’ sound.

The little empress clutched her head, her small mouth pouting, almost on the verge of tears.

The Little Woman’s motherly instincts overflowed immediately, anxiously saying, ”Hurry, hurry, hurry, let her out, she’s going to suffocate!”

Professor Han rolled his eyes and retorted, ”What do you think she is, a toy? This is a genuine A-level radiation beast’s bloodline. Don’t be fooled by her size; she’s a standard monster. Even when she was an egg, she was roaming everywhere; I had to use three layers of bulletproof glass to keep her contained.”

The little empress looked pitifully at Gao Gong, and instantly he felt a bloodline connection... Bah!

He wasn’t familiar with this figure at all.

But indeed, she was quite cute.

”Let her out,” Gao Gong said.

”Wait a bit longer. I want to study her; her bloodline contains some other components.”

”Hey, Old Han, you’re not planning to slice and study her, are you?”

”Yes, Professor Han, you should reform and become a better person!”

As the victim of the other’s frenzied experiments, the Little Woman and Momo immediately united on this front.

Seeing that no one paid her any mind, the little empress pouted, the blood armor over her vulnerable parts quickly covering her arms, feeling like a Reproductive Soldier Body, yet also like a Great Knight Steel’s transformed mechanical body.

The opposite’s chopstick-thick little fist struck out like lightning, and in the next instant, the three layers of thick glass shattered into shards. Gao Gong’s eyebrows furrowed, the Reproductive Soldier Body processed into a mechanical wall that blocked in front of everyone, thankfully preventing them from getting cut.

”Where’s the person?”

”What person? That’s a radiation beast!”

”I think she’s a person, the boss’s daughter.”

After the chaos subsided, a group of people started looking for the figure everywhere.

Seeing Gao Gong looking up, the group belatedly also looked up, where the little empress was standing upside-down on the ceiling. In her hand, there was a slender crimson spear, her eyes fiercely glaring at everyone.

”The offspring of an A-level radiation beast, at least C-level quality, you bunch of idiots!”

Seeing as everyone was just watching without any intention of escaping, Professor Han couldn’t help but facepalm.

Alright, this time, Gao Gong indeed felt a bloodline connection, especially on his skin, where the crimson plug-in suddenly heated up.

Upon seeing Gao Gong, or more accurately, Gao Gong’s decorated arm, the little empress’s eyes lit up. In the blink of an eye, she appeared on Gao Gong’s shoulder, her petite figure sitting snugly against his shoulder nook, comfortably yawning, and in no time, she fell asleep.

”A true father-daughter connection,” everyone realized, then smiled knowingly at Gao Gong.

Amidst the gazes of the crowd, Gao Gong suddenly sensed a particularly fierce and cold gaze.

He turned around to see Director Du squeezing out a reluctant smile.

Gao Gong was startled.

This was Aunt Xue’s gaze!!

Gao Gong ruefully rejected names like ’Gao Xing’, ’Gao Little Crimson’, ’Gao Little Red’ as too absurd.

He couldn’t possibly let her take his surname, Gao.

That was too unreliable.

The little empress was ultimately named ’Valkyrie’, named after the Valkyries from past Nordic mythology.

Gao Gong decided to train her well, making her a key player in his combat corps.

She certainly had the potential.

Name: Valkyrie

Bloodline Level: A+

Radiation Level: C+ (undeveloped)

Life Value: 2560/2560

Physical Strength Value: 500/500

Biological Energy: 15530

Biological Attributes: Power 38 Agility 38 Endurance 15 Intelligence 9 Perception 15

Skills: Crimson Spear lv8, Blood Armor lv6 (Advanced), Spear Throwing lv4 (Elite), ??

Talent: Close Combat Weapon Mastery, Flight

Leader Template: Genetic Empress (Gray)

Compared to her mother, this one seems to be taking a close combat route, her attributes already quite exaggerated at birth.

Moreover, according to Professor Han’s examination, there are some tiny metal elements inside this little figurine, which means she also has some traits of a Mechanical Bio-Beast.

Gao Gong suspects this might have something to do with him to some extent.

This little figurine is quite likable, especially with her always holding her chin up in a slightly arrogant demeanor, awakening a certain special fetish among the Cable Tribe girls, such as getting their behinds spanked by the figurine’s spear.

Perhaps ’Valkyrie’ finds it puzzling why these lower species always enjoy being punished.

The little figurine is extremely attached to Gao Gong, thinking that among the people present, only the two of them are alike; the rest are just subordinates.

It’s not wrong to think this way.

Gao Gong is also happy to bring her along, as it fulfills the wish of figurine enthusiasts, and more importantly, the Crimson plugin has begun to awaken under the stimulation of her pure bloodline.

Gao Gong has also started training her in fighting skills.

Once this figurine fully grows, at the very least, she would be an A-level Radiation Beast!

...

The positioning of Base No. 2 is as a research base, so it doesn’t go for extensive construction like Base No. 1, and it can’t build large structures because it’s located atop a ’cliff’.

The entire Desolate Desert resembles a small basin, and the origin of this terrain probably dates back to the moment when the use of Space-Based Weapons caused the collapse of the continent’s framework.

This ’cliff’ sits at the edge of the Desolate Desert, with rolling sands on one side and the ocean horizon at the other.

There are far more familiar faces at Base No. 2 compared to Base No. 1, including members of the Cable Tribe, new-generation Mechanical Hunters, and even some soldiers from the Security Corps.

All these are those who actively sought refuge after the Beast Tide battle.

The biggest ’building’ at Base No. 2 is actually a massive corpse, the cadaver of the Knight Order’s ’Kun-shaped Battleship.’

Originally, it fought one against three, but was forcibly hammered apart by three Mother City octopuses. The remnants were collected during the battlefield clean-up.

Even though 90% of the internal parts of the corpse were smashed, the pressure of a level 60 creature is enough to deter most Radiation Beasts from approaching.

Professor Han has been highly motivated lately, seemingly intending to rebuild a Research Institute here.

Thus, Gao Gong generously granted him an unpaid director title, boosting his spirits even further, showing a willingness to sacrifice everything for the organization.

As people arrive, naturally, others choose to leave.

The first to leave were the scholars from the Biological Mutation Association; after the Beast Tide, Gao Gong had no reason to keep them, they exchanged contacts friendly, and parted ways amicably.

Second to leave was the group of Bio-Fusioners under Demon Mountain; to these warriors from the Mother City, a new emerging faction in the Radiation Zone wasn’t much of an attraction.

Gao Gong also calmly consented.

The reason being, he acquired the technology of ’Bio-Fusion Armor’ from the Security Corps, enabling future consistent production of Bio-Fusioners.

With these Mother City Warriors here, Gao Gong would have a hard time explaining the origin of these ’Bio-Fusion Armors.’

He plans to continue building relations with the Xiao Family, ensuring these secrets remain hidden.

Aside from the ’Kun-shaped Base,’ the faction-specific buildings, ’Mechanical Weapon Transformation Hall’ and ’Biological Weapons Transformation Hall,’ are also under construction.

He has dispatched people throughout various deserts to find youths suitable for the Mechanical Hunter path.

He believes this place will soon become the sacred ground for the ’Mechanical Hunter’ profession.

...

Meanwhile, the information Gao Gong had his people investigate for quite some time finally bore fruit.

Even though Gao Gong doesn’t feel he has wronged the original, he still believes he should fulfill his obligations, such as avenging the other party, for instance.

”Long time no see, Old Pi.”

Gao Gong smiled kindly at the mission intermediary pressed to the ground by two Mechanical Hunters.

”It’s you, Lone Wolf, a misunderstanding, really a misunderstanding—”

Old Pi raised his head and saw the familiar face, immediately beginning to struggle.

”Why bother, Old Pi. My men have already investigated your relationship with that deity, ’God of Radiation and Gunpowder.’ That name sure is arrogant. Tell me why you betrayed me.”

Gao Gong’s tone seemed magical, gradually quieting the other’s struggle, prompting him to speak word by word.

”The God of Radiation and Gunpowder has a deformed child, surviving on breast milk. However, as he grows older, his deformity worsens, thus needing a Nightless City entry ticket; only inside the city are the best treatment options available.”

”How did they find out I had a Nightless City Resident Certificate?”

”I notified them; he is my major client.”

”I see,” Gao Gong pleasantly removed the illusion.

Old Pi’s expression blanked momentarily, and when he remembered all he had said, despair immediately set in.

”You can’t kill me, you can’t kill me! The god will surely avenge me!”

”He has the Flame Boy capable of burning everything!”

”He has numerous Motorcycle Spearman!”

”The Bald Burner can contend with the most dangerous Radiation Beasts!”

”The Butcher possesses the power to crush everything!”

”You—”

A red shadow flashed across Gao Gong’s shoulder.

Gao Gong picked up a napkin and began wiping the blood stains off his figurine.

Valkyrie lazily yawned again, feeling drowsy.

Only Old Pi lay on the ground, eyes white, with a fist-sized blood hole on his forehead.
