Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

The upcoming battle the lackeys are about to engage in is unknown to Gao Gong.

At this moment, Gao Gong is firing cannons.

He has two cannons on hand, one is an old electromagnetic cannon, the other a charged particle cannon.

The old electromagnetic cannon belongs to the class of barrel-less cannons, driven by electromagnetic induction to propel the projectiles.

While the charged particle cannon is quite the opposite, its barrel is as thick as a water tank, covered densely with electrical wires, and the barrel hoop is the same model as Brother Monkey’s.

Hearing that Gao Gong was going to fire the cannons, the Little Woman eagerly ran over. At this time, she was directing the burly Meng Duo to adjust the direction; she wanted to fire the cannon herself!

Gao Gong let her mess around, not caring where she aimed, since after the experiment, both old cannons would be taken apart anyway.

He planned to back-engineer the blueprints of these two cannons.

Soon, the Little Woman identified a target.

It was a rock atop a mountain.

The firing of the electromagnetic cannon was the same as last time, without any prelude, in the blink of an eye, it was released.

”Missed it? Meng Duoduo, you’re really useless!”

The Little Woman jumped up and hit the other person’s buttocks.

Feeling a bit embarrassed, Meng Duo scratched his head.

”Hit.”

”Really?” The Little Woman quickly grabbed the binoculars, sure enough, there was a new round hole on the surface of the huge rock.

”Why is there no sound at all? So boring.”

The Little Woman quickly lost interest and started to play with the other charged particle cannon.

This energy cannon was much more aggressive; when energy gathered, the massive cannon body began to buzz, the barrel so hot it could fry an egg, accompanied by the smell of burning electric wires.

After about ten seconds of intense trembling, a blue beam of light flashed and disappeared, spreading apart midway, and when it hit the rock, it directly blasted the rock into powder.

”Wow, I like this cannon, let’s fire another shot!”

Gao Gong shook his head.

Both cannons are basic energy weapons with obvious flaws: the electromagnetic cannon’s attack is point-specific, while the charged particle cannon’s energy begins to dissipate halfway through its trajectory.

This means that where an energy weapon should deal at least ten thousand points of damage, it only delivers a maximum of five thousand, which is quite awkward.

Evaluating the strength of an energy weapon, the degree of energy concentration is a crucial measure.

But that doesn’t matter; even if you’ve never eaten pork, you’ve seen pigs run, right?

Although Gao Gong isn’t a cannon expert, after all, he is a Level 6 Civilization Sovereign, having handled countless energy weapons.

Modifying and repackaging them for sale is no problem.

While energy cannons don’t have the blue ocean market potential of mechas, who would complain about having too many cannons?

Gao Gong beckoned a few strong men from the Cable Tribe to drag the electromagnetic cannon over, picked up the prepared tools, and began the dismantling work.

[You comprehend the electromagnetic weapon framework]

[You receive a Level 3 Mechanical Blueprint[Military Magnetic Accelerator]]

[You comprehend the energy beam pattern]

[You comprehend the Level 4 Mechanical Blueprint[Compressed Motor]]

…

It is worth mentioning that this kind of technology reverse engineering also consumes experience, the amount consumed relates to the knowledge you master; the more knowledge you have, the less experience is consumed.

Ultimately, Gao Gong disassembled two blueprints, eight mechanical parts, around 60% of the structure.

He consumed about a hundred thousand alliance experience.

Besides the accelerator and motor, the most important ’magnetic flux compression device’ was not disassembled.

This was quite a lot already, and the smooth progress was because the ’technology lock’ of a Level 2 Civilization hasn’t been activated.

Genetic recognition and bloodline recognition are relatively common ’technology locks’.

A bit more advanced are the lost high-precision weapons that come with dimension strike or star system strike capabilities.

Even more advanced, reaching the level of modification at the micro-level, like certain Intelligent Particles.

Energy weapons are classified into basic, intermediate, advanced, and top-tier, and above top-tier, either advanced civilizations excavate ’Celestial Calamity particles’ from the depths of the universe, or they synthesize high-risk energies.

These energies naturally possess the ’Intelligent Particle’ attribute, depending on equipment to back-track the opponent’s technology is bound to lead you astray.

Watching the nearby Little Woman enthusiastically firing the cannon, Gao Gong casually asked, ”How are you adapting to your new identity?”

Meng Duo moved his biological arm and nodded, ”It’s alright, the seniors taught us a lot, plus recently, I participated in the coastal hunting mission Professor Han released.”

After resolving rejection issues, most natives can become biological warriors through implantation, but only a small portion can become biological hunters.

Including Meng Duo, the Cable Tribe produced a total of five biological hunters.

Meng Duo is the hunters’ captain.

”The old folks are ultimately unreliable; after the ’Biological Weapons Transformation Hall’ is constructed, there will definitely be more biological hunters. The work of mentoring newbies will still depend on you.”

”Understood,” Meng Duo nodded earnestly.

A Level 10 Biologist can accomplish two things: modify radiation organs and create biological plugins.

Of course, Meng Duo and others from the ’Dragon Following Faction’ had the first taste.

With the same biological implantation, their biological plugin quality is naturally one level higher than others; while others have Fine quality, theirs can even reach Excellent or Rare.

Just after the Beast Tide, not much else, high-level radiation organs are plentiful. At a higher level, they can start right from an Elite Template.

”Oh right, I heard not all the biologists left, one stayed behind?” Gao Gong suddenly asked.

”Yes, but Little Xu is not a biologist, he’s just an apprentice.”

Little Xu, Xu Xiaoming, a Level 5 Biological Apprentice, is currently working at the Bionics Research Institute, handling the modification of some low-level biological organs, which is now his job.

The reason he stayed is quite simple; he was drawn to bionics and became Professor Han’s disciple.

”No worries, take it slow. Bionics and biology actually work better together.”

Gao Gong can’t stay here forever; before long, he has to leave for Mechanical City, as the players’ descent is not far off.

Mechanical and biological transformations can’t stall just because he’s not around.

For mechanical transformation, he’s grooming Helli Wilder, and as for biological transformation, Xu Xiaoming is the backup candidate.

As everyone knows, every member of the Biological Mutation Association has unique ’interests’, and this Xu Xiaoming likes cat ears; he seems to be studying the experiment of bionically grafting cat ear cells onto humans.

Clearly, he has a promising future.

Soon, after the Little Woman fired her last shot, Gao Gong, imitating her, started disassembling the Charged Particle Cannon.

As for the Little Woman, after firing the cannon joyfully, she lazily picked up a bear-shaped lollipop to enjoy her ’traitor’ perks.

This lollipop was still a perk of being a ’traitor’.

”How’s Director Du doing lately?”

”Busy, working until late at night every day.”

”So industrious?”

”Mm, and very angry.”

Just thinking about Sister Du’s workload made Huang Yuanli shiver; it’s truly inhuman work.

Gao Gong thought for a moment and found the logic lacking; isn’t it me who’s wearing the hat? Why are you so driven, trying to throw the hat back?

Wouldn’t the hat stay on my head then?

”Uh-huh.”

Seeing Gao Gong just respond without doing anything, the Little Woman got angry and kicked him, but Gao Gong lightly deflected her, causing her kick to hit the cannon barrel, and she immediately cried from the pain.

”You bastard, Sister Du is working her heart out for you, running around everywhere, and you can’t even comfort her? You’re such a jerk.”

Gao Gong glanced at his personality, surprisingly it didn’t decrease, and he was a bit disappointed.

”What do you know, at times like this, you can’t comfort the other person; with Director Du’s iron-willed character, my comfort would be sarcasm to her.”

The Little Woman agreed after thinking about it and asked, ”So what are you going to do?”

”Naturally, I’ll wait until she’s calmed down before I act; I’ve prepared a gift for her that she can’t refuse.”

”What gift?”

”Come on, I’ll show you.”

Gao Gong stood up, dusted off his pants, had his underlings pack up the parts, and he, along with the Little Woman and Meng Duoduo, headed towards his experiment base.

Seeing his crafty demeanor, the Little Woman marveled, ”If I ever look for a partner in the future, I can’t find someone like you; I’d be schemed to death.”

”Then what kind do you want?”

”Honest and strong ones.”

Gao Gong looked at Meng Duoduo and nodded.

”A real man!”

Gao Gong looked at Meng Duoduo again and sighed regretfully.

Meng Duoduo had a face full of lines, ’Boss, what do you mean? How am I not a man? Look at my D-cup pecs.’

The two returned to the experiment base, and as they approached a building, Gao Gong inputted three access controls: fingerprint, iris, and password.

The door opened.

Gao Gong pulled the lever, and the lights turned on, one after another, quickly revealing massive machines in front of the two.

”Whoa, what is this!?”

The Little Woman was shocked by these ’super exoskeletons’; she had seen exoskeletons before, but these large exoskeletons standing three to four meters tall were a first for her.

She noticed that inside these exoskeletons was a place resembling a cockpit, clearly meant for people to operate.

”I want to try!”

”You’re not tall enough.”

”I’ve developed a total of six models of ancient small mechas,” Gao Gong’s eyes indicated a nearby unfinished product.

”There’s also an advanced version.”

”So cool!” Even Meng Duoduo was amazed.

But he was quickly drawn to other things that seemed clearly more advanced than these mechas; various compact mechanical plugins resembled different types of armor.

”This is the new Mechanical Hunter Module.”

”Reaper Module.”

”Flying Bird Module.”

”Controller Module.”

Gao Gong paused and said, ”There are also two versions under development, the Gorilla Module and the White Leopard Module.”

”Once these modules are completed, the hunter limit will be completely broken through.”
