Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Second Day

A nuclear-powered helicopter descended from the sky, and Xiao Huang eagerly rushed out of the cabin.

”Where is Gao Gong, your Advisor Gao? Taking down two A-level Radiation Beasts in a row, and defeating that terrorist leader, capturing their flagship, that was a brilliant battle!”

”It was all under General Xiao Tong’s command that we achieved such dazzling results,” said Director Du calmly.

Xiao Huang was taken aback, glancing around, ”Where is Advisor Gao?”

”You’re unlucky; he just left.”

Looking at the almost empty camp, Xiao Huang blinked, ”Where is everyone else?”

”Some are tending to the wounded, while others are cleaning up the remaining beast packs in the city.”

”Cleaning up beast packs, the metropolitan area is gone, where are the packs,” Xiao Huang scratched his head, a flash of insight crossed his mind.

”They’re not clearing out packs but collecting biological materials.”

Du Zhaodi gave him a surprised glance, as if to say, you actually thought of that.

Xiao Huang rolled his eyes, ”I’m a playboy but not an idiot, those biological enterprises didn’t agree with your plan because the metropolitan area could provide a vast amount of precious biological materials.”

Xiao Huang suddenly paused, cursing, ”Damn, I didn’t realize, but adding it up, clearing one metropolitan area after another, you guys are reaping so many benefits.”

Du Zhaodi didn’t respond, instead handing over a list, ”This is the material loss we incurred resisting the Beast Tide, please have General Xiao Tong reimburse them.”

Xiao Huang took it, merely glanced at it, and almost choked on his own saliva.

”Damn, did you add a few extra zeros?”

”The quantity of these materials is enough for building not just one oasis, but ten.”

”Please hand this over to General Xiao Tong.”

”Sure, handing it over is no problem, whether it passes is another story.”

As they were speaking, a blue-dressed young girl walked over, holding a pile of documents, Du Zhaodi took the files, signing them one by one.

Xiao Huang surveyed the girl, mostly curious about her blue work uniform, ”Is she from the factory?”

”Bean Sprouts, my former secretary, a logistics member of the Equipment Research Institute,” Du Zhaodi replied, without looking up.

With semi-bionic transformation, almost transparent skin, and those big anime-like eyes, Xiao Huang rubbed his chin, ”A secretary model bionic person? Is this a prototype? Doesn’t seem to have any special functions.”

”Prototype your mom, I have excretion capabilities, care to try?” Bean Sprouts spewed some uncivil language, rolled her eyes, and left with the documents.

”Bean Sprouts is a human girl I mentored, she’s just undergone some assistive prosthetic upgrades.”

As she continued signing the papers, Du Zhaodi spoke, ”Negotiations with the factory, cooperation with major enterprises, moving new equipment, we have a lot of work here, cannot entertain you, young master. If you’re looking for Gao Gong, he’ll be back in three days. If there’s nothing else, mind your own business!”

As a member of the Xiao family, and the genetic brother of a major general, it had been a long time since anyone spoke to him so rudely.

However, Xiao Tong wasn’t angry. As a recently popular Mechanical Committee member, the other party had the qualifications.

”It’s not a big deal, just some family members came, wanting to meet with Gao Gong.”

Du Zhaodi’s pen paused slightly, others might not know, but she was clear, the ’Empire Offspring’ identity of Gao Gong was a complete sham.

”Then why didn’t he come?”

”He went somewhere else with my brother, Advisor Gao will meet them there.”

Seeing Xiao Tong’s lecherous expression, it was obvious that place wasn’t quite proper, Du Zhaodi’s face turned cold.

”He’s busy, can’t go.”

”Oh, he has to go,” Xiao Tong gleefully pulled out a purple-gold invitation, ”This is an invitation from Vice Admiral for our Advisor Gao to attend the conferment ceremony at Sky City.”

...

On a desolate highway, an armored beast was charging wildly, a multi-ton armored vehicle was tearing along at 500 km/h, with four face-sized nitrogen thrusters at the rear spewing flames, pushing the speed even higher.

Huang Yuanli’s face changed from red to green, then to purple, she pounded on the back of the driver’s seat, cursing, ”Bastard, slow down, I’m going to puke!”

Drowned out by the engine’s roar, Iron Hide didn’t hear anything, he was too excited.

”Boss, are you serious? You really have the confidence to turn me into that Autobot?”

”Mm, choose your favorite sports car or battle vehicle, I’ll transform you completely, by the way, I personally recommend Bumblebee.”

Professor Han said calmly, ”Mechanical Transformation isn’t my specialty, but if you want to keep all your limbs in human form, better slow down a bit.”

”Oh.”

Iron Hide finally settled down.

Professor Han took a deep breath, suppressing the boiling sensation in his stomach, and looked at Huang Yuanli with some disdain, ”Why did you bring her along?”

Huang Yuanli was car sick and too weak to retort, so she amiably gave him the middle finger.

Gao Gong ignored the two of them, instead watching the system panel’s schedule, after 24h, the Beast Tide’s calculations were finally coming out.

At the moment the countdown hit zero, the mission completion prompt sounded.

These faction tasks are diverse, with more than thirty in total, including the tier promotion of Gao Gong, the founder.

Gao Gong clicked on the ”Alliance Experience” section.

Alliance Experience: This experience can be used to build Alliance Influence and cannot be used to level up the host.

Current Experience Value: 0

Can’t level up, but can gamble blueprints and grind knowledge, that’s how Gao Gong understood it.

As for ”Faction Reputation”—

Faction Reputation: Increasing reputation helps to enhance the faction’s appeal.

Current Reputation Value: 15950

Uh, the reputation value number looks familiar, isn’t it my Regional Reputation?

It seems this newly established faction has only one mainstay—myself.

Or is it that the faction site hasn’t been selected yet, so high-profile supporting characters like Professor Han and Director Du haven’t formally joined?

It should be the latter.

[You have obtained task release permissions]

[Tasks can be released to NPCs, offering bonuses, equipment, positions as rewards]

[Tasks can be released to players, offering experience, reputation, favor, bonuses, and equipment as rewards]

What’s the point of giving money!

All players are my brothers, can you talk about money with your own brothers?

Gao Gong rubbed his chin.

After the death of Demon Mountain, those Bio-Fusioners are lonely, and I can surely take them in.

And those Imperial workers in New Steel City, I, as an ”Imperial Descendant,” can provide for their pension.

Those hidden experts who experienced World War II, I know their hiding places.

For a moment, countless ideas for expanding the faction emerged in Gao Gong’s mind.

This will also greatly assist in enhancing my power.

Not to mention, just opening up the faction grants me a ”Legendary Hunter Template,” the three added effects are extremely useful.

Legendary Hunter (Faction Exclusive):

Hunter’s Head: Increases all Hunter-exclusive skill damage by 40%, reduces skill consumption time by 30%

Mechanical Eye: Mechanical Hunter’s eyes capable of easily finding weaknesses in mechanical bodies, Weakness Attack +45%

Weapon Affinity: Weapon affinity +100%, all weapons are born for hunting, as a Legendary Hunter you can easily master the use of various weapons

The boost from the ”Legendary Hunter Template” is much stronger than the ”Commander Template,” equivalent to directly adding three Advanced States.

He glanced at the increased experience and skill points, and felt his heart ablaze.

Then he checked the four-digit rejection number and quickly calmed down.

At this point, whether leveling up, adding points, or body transformation, it would trigger a rejection breakout.

Better hold off for now.

The Pre-War Research Institute was located in the desolate deep mountains and forests. After driving up to the last stretch of road, even the armored vehicle couldn’t go any further, so they left Iron Hide in the car to wait, and the three of them got out and walked.

”Hey, perverted advisor, you’re injured now, if you encounter any mutant monsters, can you handle it?”

Gazing into the deep, dark uninhabited land, the Little Woman gulped and whispered.

”Of course not, why else would I ask you to come along.”

”Me?!” The Little Woman widened her eyes, ”If you can’t handle it, do you think I can?”

Gao Gong suddenly smiled strangely, ”Since you’re here, aren’t you coming out to meet us? Don’t you want to go home?”

Huang Yuanli widened her eyes, looking everywhere, not a shadow in sight, not even a ghost.

Just when she was feeling spooked, a surge of Spiritual Power erupted from her, substantial spiritual fluctuations swept away all the lurking presences around.

’Huang Yuanli’ stared blankly, and calmly said, ”Long time no see, Mr. Gao, Researcher Han.”
