Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Gaia looked at Professor Han and asked, ”Can I make a move now?”

”You can give it a try. If it’s just a normal defense mechanism, it shouldn’t be that strong.”

Gaia extended her hands, and the next moment, the surrounding lights began to buzz. Gao Gong raised his eyebrows—he actually felt the power of the Radiation Field.

As expected, colorful patches began to appear in mid-air, and as Gaia’s Spiritual Power extended, they transformed into a Mental Storm.

The storm was as thick as a water tank, seemingly real yet surreal. As soon as it appeared, it fell in the midst of these ’men in white.’ Instantly, countless transparent phantoms floated from the bodies of these ’men in white’ and were sucked into the storm.

As the transparent phantoms were absorbed, these ’men in white’ fell to the ground without any resistance, soon forming a dense mass lying on the floor.

”These people’s consciousness,” Gaia licked her lips and said, ”is like carbonated water without sugar, fizzing but tasteless with a slight sip.”

What a bizarre analogy!

A thought crossed Gao Gong’s mind, and his outer clothes suddenly transformed into red liquid, spanning a dozen meters, covering the surface of one of the ’men in white.’

Gao Gong connected his mind with the ’red liquid.’ Whatever the red liquid tasted, he perceived.

It’s like meat substitute—truly filling, yet missing something, and soon enough, hunger returns.

The ’red liquid’ expressed dislike.

”Huh?” Gaia raised her head, looking at a surveillance camera not far away, whose red dot was also facing her.

She manipulated the Radiation Field Storm; all electronic devices should have been malfunctioning by now.

The next moment, these ’men in white,’ who had their consciousness absorbed, suddenly emitted a beeping sound at their joints. Arms and legs detached, and heads rolled all over. These body parts attracted each other and soon formed a massive strange ball. The surface of the ball was densely packed with limbs, with arms pressing the ceiling and thighs treading the floor, pushing forcefully towards the three.

Professor Han frowned, ”Life Bionics?”

As an almost level 60 boss, Gaia naturally had many tricks up her sleeve. She pressed one hand down, raising waves of concrete from the ground, each wave higher than the last, gradually wrapping the strange ball, which then fell with a crash into the lower layer as the ground cracked.

This was also a ’Virtual Reality’ method, but on a molecular level, giving the feel of magic.

”Let’s head to the main control room of the Research Institute. From there, we can deactivate the defense system of the institute. It seems now that something is definitely wrong with these defense systems.”

”Leave it to me here. Their consciousness can keep regenerating and reorganizing. I’m quite interested in them.”

The ’Little Woman’ floated up gently, uttering these words without looking back, then floated through the wall, disappearing from sight.

The next moment, alarms blared, and rainwater sprayed out from the fire sprinklers.

A strange feeling arose.

The ’red liquid’ transformed directly into a ’full-body raincoat,’ enveloping Gao Gong entirely.

Gao Gong looked down and saw in the puddles on the floor, one after the other, reflections of himself.

Each ’Gao Gong’ in the reflections tilted their head, examining themselves.

”Let’s go. The main control room is on the eighth floor,” Professor Han switched from walking to running.

”Professor, there’s something wrong with this rainwater!”

”That’s right. This rainwater isn’t ordinary rainwater; it’s nano rain, a product of ’Nanobiology.’ If it hits your body, it will seize control of your body.”

Gao Gong was astonished, ”Then why are you unaffected?”

”As long as I don’t attack, the institute’s defense system won’t attack researchers.”

”Professor.”

”What is it?”

”Do you think it’s that bionic monster that integrated into the institute’s system and affected it?”

”Yes.”

”Could there also be an alien factor involved, considering your statement that the institute was occupied by aliens?”

Professor Han didn’t answer. He rubbed his temples, his expression seemingly filled with pain.

The ’rain’ grew heavier, droplets no longer falling to the ground but floating in mid-air, beginning to converge. Soon, figures appeared at the stairway entrance. ’They’ grew facial features and limbs. As their mannerisms became clear, six blade limbs slowly emerged from their backs, like treasured sharp blades, with a gleaming edge.

”Damn.”

Looking at the dozen bionic versions of himself, Gao Gong’s mouth slightly opened, and the ’red liquid’s’ mouth also gaped, revealing teeth like bone spikes.

The reason was simple. The edges of the blades had strands of black liquid wriggling and congregating.

They even replicated biological replicants, that’s impressive?

Fortunately, the next moment, a tentacle as thick as a water tank swept through layers of walls, striking the dozen ’Gao Gong’ figures.

These ’Gao Gong’ figures once again shattered into liquid.

Professor Han stared at the liquid that no longer coagulated, shaking his head, ”In my impression, the Research Institute’s nanobiotic products were highly immature. As expected, it is so now.”

”How could advanced nanobiology shatter at one strike?”

”Professor, maybe now isn’t the best time for academic discussions?”

Professor Han shook his head, stepping over the liquid that no longer coagulated, and continued climbing the stairs.

However, Gao Gong, watching Professor Han maintain his composure amidst the ’rain,’ furrowed his brows slightly.

The professor’s current state seemed quite off.

...

Although the Gaia people nicknamed it ’Little Lady No. 2’, in terms of combat power, the authentic Little Woman is not even worthy to carry her shoes.

She’s a boss close to the limits of a Level 2 Civilization, an advanced player ahead of Demon Mountain and Banner by a whole version, her counterparts should be Mechanical Mother and Kun-shaped Battleship.

Once she goes all out, for a moment, all the corridors were filled with gigantic transparent tentacles, slowly wriggling and intertwining with each other, strangely blending into the environment of the Research Institute.

The lights continued to crackle, each time it blacked out, a large number of ’white-clothed people’ stood in the darkness, and every time they came back on, the ’white-clothed people’ disappeared, replaced by countless ’Little Women’.

These ’Huang Yuanlis’ had expressionless faces and cold eyes, and as the lights flickered faster, the figures of ’Huang Yuanlis’ and ’white-clothed people’ gradually overlapped.

Amidst the sound of a fuse exploding.

The light became neither bright nor dark, turning into a kind of dim yellow.

Whether ’Huang Yuanlis’ or white-clothed people, they all disappeared.

A faint voice suddenly sounded.

’Brain, you’ve finally returned.’

...

Gao Gong suddenly raised his head, looking at the stopped fire sprinkler, feeling slightly odd.

The two of them finally arrived at the entrance of the main control room.

It was an oversized machine room, rows of monitoring equipment operating automatically, and in the door opposite, was another machine room.

There were a total of eight such ’machine rooms’.

”These machine rooms are equipped with partition devices, only when all eight control rooms are shut down simultaneously can the entire Research Institute system be turned off, let’s split up and act.”

As soon as Professor Han finished speaking, he dashed into one of the ’machine rooms’.

”Turning off all the control systems, won’t that release all the monsters in the Research Institute?”

Gao Gong scratched his chin, quite puzzled.

After surveying the area, he walked to a small door and pushed it open, it was an office.

The office was unnaturally clean, although according to Professor Han, this was called eco-bionic technology, simulating nature’s Digestive System, capable of decomposing residue and dust on its own.

Gao Gong walked up to the virtual screen, in the air, a virtual keyboard automatically popped up as a password entry option.

”Password, Little Lady No. 2, can you help me out?”

Gao Gong called out, roughly three seconds later, a gentle breeze lifted the pages of the book on the desk.

The next moment, a vague shadow began to turn this page.

Then, the scene began to accelerate, the office immediately became ’busy’, with vague shadows coming and going, some standing by the bookshelf chatting, others handing over documents at the desk, and some standing by the window gazing at the distant scenery.

Finally, a vague shadow opened the projection computer and entered a string of passwords.

The scene paused as the last digit was pressed.

The blurry shadows disappeared one by one, the transformed office scene returned to its original state.

Only on the password entry option, was a string of small black dots.

Gao Gong hit the enter key, instantly the screen lit up, he got in!

”Tsk, information backtracking is such a convenient ability, don’t even need to fast forward to watch videos.”

Unfortunately, this ability is something only informational organisms have, the ’Information Transmission’ that Gao Gong activated was just its low-end version.

The computer was empty, with no data, only a video hanging on the desktop, upon opening it, a researcher appeared on the screen, bloody lab coat, expression frightened yet mixed with a trace of excitement.

”Professor Zhang Hai succeeded, they forced us to create life, but we went against the tide and used life to thwart them.”

”Professor Zhang Hai is dead, the successor is Professor Han, if Professor Han succeeds, we can break free from their control, maybe even reverse and control them!”

”Newbie, if you see this video, head to the fourth laboratory on the fourth floor immediately, Professor Han left the final key there.”

”The fourth laboratory, it seems I saw it on the way.”

Gao Gong murmured to himself, ”Is this Professor Han just a namesake, or the same Old Han?”

”If it’s the same Old Han, then there’s a big problem.”

”Better go check it out.”

With a thought, red liquid ’seeped out’ on the surface of Gao Gong’s body, condensing into a humanoid shape opposite him, gradually growing features, exactly resembling Gao Gong.

”Speak less, do more, don’t raise suspicion, I’ll be right back.”

”Speak less, do more, don’t raise suspicion, I’ll be right back.”

’Gao Gong’ repeated, at first, the voice was a bit hoarse, but by the end, it was identical to the original.

”Very good.”

’Gao Gong’ watched Gao Gong leave, then turned to the screen, on the screen Gao Gong grew three pairs of wings, with a gentle flap, vanished without a trace.

”Speak less, do more,” ’Gao Gong’ smirked, then seemed to think of something, a vicious grin appeared, revealing sharp teeth.
