Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 140: Chapter 113: Glaceon and the Ice Stone

It agilely turned around and ran away, then came back with a small stone with snowflake-like patterns in its mouth and dropped it in front of Naoki.

After doing this, Glaceon jumped onto that Lake Island emanating a white chill, lay down on it, and closed its eyes as if it was resting.

”It’s just as Everett said, so cold...”

Naoki looked down at the Ice Stone, and couldn’t help but smile.

Although it had a cold attitude towards him on the surface, it was a Glaceon that knew how to express its gratitude.

Naoki grew even more fond of this Glaceon in his heart.

Moreover, his original purpose in coming here was for this Glaceon.

But as it stands, capturing this Glaceon obviously can’t be done through ordinary means.

Food doesn’t work on it, and it doesn’t seem to like battles very much either.

After some thought, Naoki decided to first understand Glaceon’s situation a bit better.

He looked at the Ice Stone beneath Glaceon and asked, ”Is this stone your treasure?”

Upon hearing this, Glaceon, who was resting with its eyes closed, immediately opened its eyes and looked wary.

Seeing it seemed to misunderstand, Naoki quickly said, ”No need to worry, I’m not here to take the stone from you. I just accidentally arrived here.”

Koraidon also nodded beside him, ”Agaaash!”

Only then did Glaceon relax a bit.

It looked down at the Ice Stone beneath it, and memories of the past flashed through its mind.

At that time, it was still an Eevee.

During an accident, it got lost in the snowy mountains and accidentally stumbled into this place.

Here, it discovered this stone, and influenced by the stone, it evolved into a Glaceon and has lived here ever since.

Treasures...

This stone is indeed its treasure.

Thinking about this, Glaceon gently nodded, ”Vee.”

”Was that Froslass just now here to fight you for this stone?” Naoki asked again.

Speaking of Froslass, Glaceon appeared a bit angry.

Initially, the Pokemon living nearby were all good, and they weren’t attracted to this Ice Stone either.

But suddenly, one day, that Froslass came.

It wanted to take this Ice Stone and claim it for its own.

Before that, they had already fought many times without reaching a conclusion.

Because of this, Glaceon felt somewhat tired of it and really disliked that Froslass.

Naoki observed Glaceon’s expression and, seeing that it seemed to value the Ice Stone greatly, suddenly thought of a good idea!

”Since this stone is so important, that Froslass definitely won’t give up. It’ll come here again to take the stone,” Naoki said.

”Vee...” Glaceon’s expression grew serious.

Seeing this, Naoki first feigned pondering, then asked, ”Have you ever thought of moving this stone to a safe place? Move it somewhere Froslass can’t find, then it won’t bother you anymore.”

Upon hearing this, Glaceon’s eyes lit up first.

Right! Just move the stone away, and let that Froslass never find it again!

But soon, it started pondering again.

Where is safe?

The snowy mountains are vast, and they’re home to Ice Type Pokemon. If the stone is moved outside, it might attract other Ice Type Pokemon to snatch the stone.

Seeing Glaceon fall into the trap, Naoki timely spoke up, ”Ahem, um...”

Glaceon raised its eyes to look at him.

Naoki: ”I have a good place where you can hide this stone, it’s very safe, and there are no other Ice Type Pokemon.”

Glaceon stared at him with those deep blue eyes.

Naoki’s heart pounded, wondering if Glaceon had seen through him?

Just then, Koraidon nodded along with what Naoki said, ”Agaaash!”

Glaceon looked at Koraidon, at this Pokemon that had just protected it from Froslass’s attack.

Glaceon was smart; it could sense that this Pokemon seemed to know it.

What a strange feeling, was it because they met somewhere before?

Glaceon began to think carefully.

But after thinking for a long time, it couldn’t find an answer.

It couldn’t help but ask, ”Vee?”

”Agaaash!” Koraidon nodded its big head joyfully.

Naoki watched this scene with great interest from the side.

It seemed that Glaceon was confirming whether there really was such a safe place with Koraidon.

After getting an answer, Glaceon was slightly stunned, then lowered its head to look at the stone beneath it.

It chose to trust this human and Pokemon who helped it.

”Vee.”

Naoki was delighted, ”Made up your mind?”

Glaceon nodded.

Upon seeing this, Naoki put the Ice Stone, which was about the same size as Glaceon, into his Space Backpack in front of it.

Perfect, the Ice Stone and Glaceon could be taken back to the cave together.

The Ice Stone, like the Ice Stone, is a tool that can help Eevee evolve into Glaceon.

The difference is, the Ice Stone disappears after use, while the Ice Stone does not. This stone, which is merged with nature, contains a large amount of Ice Type Energy.

Although Glaceon had already completed its evolution, due to the nature of Pokemon, they all like energy-rich places.

Because of this, Glaceon considered the Ice Stone a treasure.

Thinking about this, Naoki clicked his tongue and looked at the Ice Stone in his hand, thinking this trip was indeed fruitful.

Glaceon, Ice Stone, Ice Stone, he wanted them all!

Naoki took out an empty red-and-white ball from his pocket and said to Glaceon:

”The return trip is a bit far, come inside here first!”

Glaceon looked at the red-and-white ball, then reached out with a paw and lightly tapped the button on it.

The next second, its body transformed into a red light and was sucked into the Poke Ball.

When the Poke Ball stopped moving, Naoki couldn’t help but let out a long sigh of relief.

Captured Glaceon!

Though... it wasn’t really an official capture.

After all, Glaceon was currently following him simply because he could take the Ice Stone to a safe place.

However, Naoki wasn’t worried; after all, there’s plenty of time in the future!

Once back at the ranch, he would have plenty of time to get along with Glaceon until it acknowledged him.

Packing up his Space Backpack and making sure he left nothing behind, Naoki and Koraidon left the cave.

As Koraidon slowly ascended, the entire Glaseado Mountain gradually shrank until it was completely left behind.

Naoki looked back at the towering mountain range, recalling everything that happened today in his mind.

Once again, he felt the sense of security brought by Koraidon.

It could fly, run, and swim, was very strong, and had an incredibly gentle temperament, totally different from the descriptions of the Wing Lord except for occasionally being a bit silly; it almost had no flaws.

He thought he was very fortunate to encounter such a Pokemon.

Thanks to Koraidon, his ranch had developed to its current state in just a few months.

If it weren’t for Koraidon, he might still be arduously fishing to make money.

Not to mention Miltank and Nacli, they probably wouldn’t even have a place built for them to live yet.

At this moment, Koraidon seemed to notice Naoki was spacing out on its back.

It turned its head slightly to look at him, ”Agaaash?”

Naoki snapped back to reality and happily said to it, ”Koraidon, I absolutely love you!”

”Agaaash?!”

Koraidon’s eyes widened, seemingly shocked by his words.

It knew that Naoki liked everyone living on the ranch and cared for the many Pokemon living there every day.

But it was the first time it had seen Naoki express his affection for them so straightforwardly.

The past self never received it, Dragonite never received it, Alcremie never received it, and Pawmi never received it either.

Does this mean it was the first Pokemon to receive such an honor?

Koraidon was overjoyed, and this excitement in its heart made it unconsciously fly faster.

Koraidon’s agile figure transformed into a red light, like a red meteor streaking across the sky.

Naoki was scared to death and quickly grabbed onto Koraidon, shouting, ”Slow down, I’m going to fall off!”
