Chapter 129: Chapter 105: Dragonite’s Love

Dragonite Island, central lake, 3:00pm.

Naoki and Koraidon sat by the lake, gazing thoughtfully at the sky, dotted with white clouds.

Not far away, a Dragonite was surrounded by everyone, recounting events that had occurred recently.

Naoki and Koraidon chose not to disturb them, instead appreciating the island’s unique landscape from their spot by the lake.

Although the island was situated in the depths of the sea, perhaps influenced by the power of the Dragonite, the atmosphere here felt no different from that on land.

The circular lake, encircled by surrounding trees, resembled a full moon, lying quietly in the embrace of the sea.

If night came, Naoki could imagine the scene here.

——The lake surface reflects the night sky, a full moon in the sky, and also a full moon in the lake water. When Dratini swim through it, the moon shatters along the ripples.

But there’s no need to worry; just wait patiently for a moment, and the shattered moon in the lake will return to wholeness.

The Dratini rest on this ”full moon,” bathing in the moonlight, entering their dreams.

Naoki’s mind conjured up these images—the grass by the lake was soft, the sunlight above painted patches through the tree shadows, and the wind was gentle.

His heart was at peace; he couldn’t help but lie down beside Koraidon, his gaze passing through the circular opening to the blue sky above.

Suddenly, a shadow swept over his head. When Naoki looked closely, he saw several petite Dratini hovering over his head, their big eyes curiously observing him lying on the ground.

Their shadows blocked the light above, their expressions of wonder as if puzzled why this human was suddenly lying on the ground.

Naoki was slightly startled, then reached out to poke the cheek of one of the quasi-god hatchlings.

Sensing the touch, a smile appeared on Naoki’s face.

The little Dratini felt smooth and soft to the touch.

Surrounded by so many adorable quasi-god hatchlings, Naoki felt like he had reached the peak of his life.

Dratini are so cute!

But compared to Salamence, Hydreigon, and those dragon-type Pokemon, Dragonite truly is very tame and friendly, both to humans and hatchlings.

”Woo~”

The touched Dratini let out a melodious and innocent cry.

Naoki then sat up, turning his head to start searching the lake’s surface for that Shining Dratini.

However, after searching for a long time, he couldn’t find any trace of it.

”Strange, could I have seen it wrong?”

He asked a Dragonair nearby, ”Have you seen a pink Dratini around here?”

”Woo?”

The Dragonair blinked, seemingly not quite understanding his question.

Seeing this, Naoki explained, ”It’s a different color, not the same as you Dratini.”

This time the Dragonair understood; it knew which Dratini this human was talking about, then happily dived into the lake, soon returning with a pink Dratini.

Gazing at this uniquely colored Dratini, Naoki’s eyes lit up immediately.

Indeed, it was the Shining Dratini!

Ordinary Dratini are light blue, but this Dratini was light pink, looking very girlish and extremely cute.

This Dratini, brought by its companion, looked at him shyly.

Seeing this scene, Naoki felt that this Dratini might have a timid personality.

When he attempted to reach out and touch it, the Dratini immediately showed a frightened expression.

Noticing this, Naoki instinctively wanted to pull out candy from his pocket to coax it like a child, but soon realized he had brought nothing except two bottles of emergency Berry Milk on this trip.

”What a pity.”

Naoki looked regretful.

If only he knew Dragonite was bringing him to Dragon Island, he would have brought all the snacks from his refrigerator.

So, Naoki could only try to convey friendliness to it: ”Don’t be afraid; we won’t harm you, um...we just want to be friends with you.”

Yet this Dratini still felt very scared.

Following its gaze, Naoki then understood what the Dratini was afraid of.

”Ah, grrr...”

Upon realizing Naoki’s gaze, Koraidon next to him immediately showed an innocent expression.

Naoki: ”...”

He wanted to say more when suddenly all conversations among the gathered Dragonite ceased.

A Wild Dragonite flew over from the sky, slowly landing on the island.

Then, Naoki noticed his own Dragonite looking at the other, appearing quite tense.

Something’s not right!

Naoki narrowed his eyes, picking up on an unusual vibe.

As everyone knows, Pokemon can also experience love like humans, then reproduce and flourish.

Just like Meowth in the anime, which loved the female Meowth Madonna, but Madonna eventually chose to be with Persian and rejected it.

Some Pokemon even fall in love with other species; the anime even featured phrases like ”Tropius fell in love with Miss Joy’s Meganium.”

And now, seeing Dragonite muster courage to step forward, this scene couldn’t help but remind Naoki of a shy young boy confessing to his crush.

Dragonite looked very nervous and shy, stepping forward without knowing what to say to the other.

Immediately after, Naoki saw that Wild Dragonite assume a fighting stance.

Naoki was taken aback, involuntarily asking, ”What are they doing?”

”Ah, grrr...” Koraidon didn’t understand such matters but recognized that Wild Dragonite.

Nearby, Dragonair also watched that scene, softly speaking as if answering Naoki’s question:

”Woo...” (That Dragonite is confessing to the other...)

But all the Dragonite on the island know that the female Dragonite is quite special.

It is extremely strong, and every Dragonite that confesses to it gets beaten badly.

According to it, only a Dragonite that can defeat it head-on can become its future mate and together raise even stronger Dratini.

However, unfortunately, Naoki couldn’t understand Pokemon language and naturally couldn’t grasp Dragonair’s words.

He only saw his Dragonite and that female Dragonite start battling.

The battle began. The female Dragonite unleashed her full aura, exuding terrifying killing intent, then dove towards Dragonite.

Faced with this seemingly dreadful attack, Dragonite was initially quite panicked, but quickly pulled itself together.

It increased its speed to dodge the Dragon Rush, then used Rain Dance.

Vast clouds rolled in, and the sky began to pour down rain.

Dragonite flapped its wings, creating a Hurricane, the storm mixed with rain, roaring as it swept forth.

In an instant, the female Dragonite was enveloped by this storm and rain.

I was very shocked.

Though puzzled why this Dragonite, which once couldn’t learn any powerful moves, had become so strong, it still clenched its teeth, focusing completely on the battle.

It wouldn’t be defeated so easily!
