Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 103: Chapter 83: Repair Work

Kitakami? Sweet Red Tea?

Naoki caught a key piece of information from this phrase.

If he remembered correctly, Kitakami seemed to be a map in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, which hadn’t been released yet when he traveled through.

Thinking this, he picked up the tea and took a sip.

Instantly, a clear sweetness that wasn’t cloying, mingled with a faint milk aroma, spread throughout his mouth.

Ah! This Sweet Red Tea is quite tasty!

Naoki raised his brows in surprise.

Seeing his expression, Mrs. Dantes smiled and said, ”The taste is quite good, right? This is Kitakami’s special product! It’s not available in other regions!”

Naoki nodded.

It was then that an old man, wearing a brown vest, with gray hair, although aged, his complexion was quite healthy and rosy, walked out from the backyard.

Seeing the visitor, Mrs. Dantes introduced:

”This is the new rancher Naoki I mentioned to you earlier.”

”This is my husband, Riot. He had been bedridden, thanks to your goat milk, he’s able to walk again!”

Riot stepped forward, reaching out his hand to Naoki, ”Hello Naoki, this is our first meeting, right? I’m really grateful to you. If you have time, you can often visit us.”

Mrs. Dantes also nodded with a smile, ”Then I’ll serve you the best Sweet Red Tea.”

Unexpectedly, Skiddo’s goat milk can really make medicinal cuisine, and it’s quite effective.

Naoki was initially surprised, then smiled and said, ”Thank you in advance.”

Naoki felt quite happy that the ranch’s products could help others.

Perhaps, this is the best form of relationships between people.

No pretenses, no lies or deceit, but honest interactions filled with gratitude.

After finishing a cup of tea, Naoki bid farewell to the two elders and returned to the ranch with good spirits for the day.

The typhoon that swept through last night caused considerable damage to the ranch.

The crops in the field were affected, and a berry tree that had painstakingly grown to half a meter tall was even snapped in half, which made Naoki feel distressed.

The fences of the sheep pen where the Skiddos lived were also blown down by the wind, and the rain shelter was affected with the roof being blown away.

Fortunately, he had transferred the Skiddos to the Poke Balls in advance yesterday, avoiding greater damage.

By contrast, the Chicken House, Salt House, and Pokemon House were much more sturdy, without suffering any damage.

The doors and windows of the Chicken House were locked securely in advance, and the hens and chicks inside passed the night safely.

Looking at the fences before him, Naoki began repair work.

He fetched tools from the storeroom and used a hammer and nails to refix the wind-blown fences, then he and Koraidon lifted the blown-away shelter roof and restored it.

After completing all this, it was already noon.

Naoki turned on the TV and began preparing lunch for everyone.

A news program was being broadcast on TV, as he had predicted, people in the Paldea Region also found it surprising that the typhoon disappeared suddenly.

”Dadadadada!”

While chopping vegetables, Naoki listened to the TV sounds behind him:

”According to reports, the typhoon [Angry Parrot], originally expected to hit Paldea and last for five days, disappeared early today.”

”We don’t know exactly what happened, but for the Paldea Region, this might be good news.”

”The typhoon [Angry Parrot] caused some ecological damage to coastal Pokemon, affecting many wild Pokemon; nearby towns’ Pokemon Centers are currently treating those Pokemon.”

Listening to this news, instinct told Naoki it wasn’t that simple.

After all, it’s impossible for a typhoon to disappear out of thin air.

That’s the power of nature; unless possessing absolute strength, no one can dispel a typhoon.

Connecting this to the scars on Dragonite, these wounds seemed to have been affected by sharp, hurricane-like forces.

Did Dragonite specifically go to the typhoon site?

There must be something hidden within that he didn’t know, perhaps it was connected to Dragonite somehow.

Naoki thought of the two moves Dragonite used today.

Hurricane was reasonable, but Dragon Dance seemed somewhat unreasonable.

Was it because Dragonite ate Lucky Pudding before leaving?

To find the answer, as soon as Dragonite woke up, Naoki ran to it and started asking about the typhoon.

”Did you go to the typhoon site last night?” Naoki asked.

”Roar!” Dragonite nodded.

Wanting a close-up encounter with the hurricane, that was the best choice.

Really... Naoki surprisingly didn’t know what to say for a moment.

He continued to ask, ”Do you know how the typhoon disappeared?”

He told Dragonite about the news report.

Upon hearing this, Dragonite blinked, then widened its eyes, looking shocked: ”Roar!”

”What?” Naoki was slightly stunned.

Dragonite: ”Roar, roar!”

Naoki: ”...”

He suddenly felt there was a sad barrier between himself and Dragonite.

”If only I had the Power of Viridian,” Naoki lamented.

Dragonite started roaring again, seemingly recounting its experiences from yesterday to Naoki.

However, Naoki couldn’t understand at all, watching Dragonite with wide eyes, filled with five parts shock, three parts yearning, and two parts excitement, he suddenly had an epiphany, guessing, ”Did you meet other humans there?”

Humans? Trainers?

What kind of Trainer could defeat a typhoon... Elite? Or Champion.

Geeta?

But Dragonite shook its head and denied, ”Roar!”

It first shook its head and then pointed to itself.

”Encountered other Dragonites?” Could it be the giant Dragonite from Bill’s Lighthouse in the Kanto Region?

Dragonite continued to shake its head.

”Not Dragonite nor human...” Naoki suddenly thought of another possibility: ”Was it other Pokemon?”

”Roar!” Dragonite nodded repeatedly, this time guessing right!

It was a Pokemon with incredible strength; it did nothing, just relying on its own aura, directly dissipating the typhoon.

”Pokemon...” Naoki fell into thought.

A Pokemon that could make a typhoon disappear didn’t sound like an ordinary Pokemon.

Could it be a Legendary Pokemon? Naoki’s mind was stirred.

His mind floated over several Pokemon related to winds, currents, and cyclones.

Was it Lugia or Rayquaza?

Following these two Pokemon’s appearances, Naoki described them to Dragonite.

Upon hearing Lugia’s appearance, Dragonite didn’t react at all.

But when he heard Rayquaza’s description, Dragonite nodded repeatedly.

That’s it!

But the color seemed somewhat off...

Dragonite furrowed its brows, showing a rather conflicted look.

It looked around, eventually using its chubby paw to point at the black leather boots Naoki was wearing on his feet.

”Roar!” This is the color!

Naoki instantly understood.

Black Rayquaza!

He couldn’t help but take a deep breath.
