Chapter 101: Chapter 81: Stormy Night, Witnessing Legend! (Double Chapter)

At this thought, Dragonite turned back expectantly to look at Naoki.

Naoki was sitting cross-legged on the bed, grooming Skiddo’s fur.

Although Skiddo lived outside all the time, it was never dirty and didn’t have the strong goat smell of normal goats. Instead, its brown fur emitted a faint scent of fresh grass.

Hearing Dragonite’s growl, Naoki turned his head to look.

Soon, he understood what Dragonite meant.

After a little thought, he said to it, ”It’s not impossible.”

Dragonite’s eyes immediately lit up: ”Roar!” It knew it!

In a hurricane, the move to practice...

The first thing Naoki thought of was the powerful Flying Type move Hurricane, with a power of 110.

Hurricane: Using powerful winds to sweep the opponent for an attack, which can sometimes confuse the opponent.

In the game, besides having a relatively low hit rate, this move has almost no drawbacks, not only having massive power but also a chance to confuse the opponent.

But that’s not necessarily true in reality.

Because this move sounds like a large-scale AOE skill.

Naoki explained the general information of this move to Dragonite.

”Do you want to try it? The weather outside is awful, maybe we should let it go?” Naoki asked.

But Dragonite shook its head, refusing the suggestion.

It looked serious: ”Roar!”

Pokemon like Dragonite are naturally unafraid of wind and rain, and because of this, they can rescue ships in distress during sea storms.

Every Dragonite has to experience such a storm.

This is passed down by word of mouth on Dragonite Island, it’s said that only a Dragonite who truly masters hurricanes and storms can become the king of Dragonites.

Seeing this, Naoki was a bit helpless. He got out of bed, ready to go see with Dragonite: ”Alright, then let’s set off!”

However, Dragonite stopped him.

With its chubby paw, it pressed Naoki back onto the bed, earnestly saying: ”Roar!”

After the last fever incident, Dragonite worried that Naoki would fall ill again after getting caught in the rain, so this time, it refused to let him accompany it no matter what.

Understanding Dragonite’s meaning, Naoki, deeply moved, reached out and patted Dragonite’s head.

What a touching moment!

This Dragonite initially followed him back to the ranch solely to become stronger.

But now, it’s slowly adapting to life on the ranch and becoming a part of it, learning to care for him.

Does this mean their bond has deepened? Naoki wondered.

”Roar?” Dragonite was puzzled.

Naoki stood up, seriously patting Dragonite on the shoulder, and said:

”In that case, go ahead! We’ll be waiting for you to come back at the ranch, stay safe, and return safely!”

Hearing these words, Dragonite was full of fighting spirit: ”Roar!”

Before setting off, Naoki retrieved a piece of Lucky Pudding from the fridge and fed it to Dragonite, hoping to boost its luck today and help it successfully grasp Hurricane.

Dragonite opened its mouth wide, gulped down the pudding, then walked out of the door into the rain, waving its paw at Naoki.

With a gentle flap of its small wings, Dragonite soared into the sky.

Naoki stood under the eaves, watching Dragonite leave until its figure completely disappeared from sight, then turned back into the room.

Naoki sat on the carpet, leaning against a soft Skiddo, turned on the TV to pass the time.

Yet the weather affected the TV signal, turning it into a screen full of snow.

Naoki: ”...”

Looks like I can’t watch TV.

But if I go sleep now, I probably won’t be able to, since I took a few-hour nap this afternoon, and now I’m not sleepy at all.

”I should have bought a few books at the bookstore,” Naoki regretted in his heart,

With nothing to do, he lay on the bed in a daze, wondering if Dragonite could master Hurricane this time.

Eventually, with the natural white noise from outside, Naoki unknowingly fell asleep,

In the middle of the night, a gale whipped up outside, and torrential rain poured down.

Naoki awoke suddenly from his sleep, hearing the sound outside and knowing the typhoon had passed over.

Seeing the room was pitch black, Naoki thought Koraidon turned off the lights, so he groped around to turn them on.

But when he hit the switch, the lights didn’t come on.

”Looks like there’s a power outage.”

Naoki mumbled, found a flashlight, and turned it on, glancing around without seeing Dragonite, he asked Koraidon: ”Has Dragonite not come back yet?”

”Gah scraa.”

Koraidon nodded its big head.

Hearing this, Naoki frowned, inevitably feeling worried: ”It’s been so long, could something have happened?”

”Aah scrrr...”

Koraidon yawned lazily, not worried in the least about this.

Meanwhile, far out over the sea kilometers away.

Dragonite let out a dragon’s roar, airflow surged around it, forming a vortex, and dove once again towards the eye of the typhoon.

The usually blue sea turned pitch black at this moment, and the once calm sea surface was now whipped into towering waves.

The distant horizon nearly vanished, with the sky and ocean becoming one and the same color.

Dark clouds covered the sky, forming a massive, majestic spiral-shaped cloud wall at the behest of the vortex, cascading down from the high heavens.

These clouds blocked out the sun, stretching on endlessly, extending far beyond, with no trace of light visible.

In this apocalypse-like scene, Dragonite’s form seemed as tiny as an ant.

This wasn’t the first time it had tried to breach the typhoon’s eye.

Despite the fresh cuts the fierce winds carved into its body, Dragonite had no plans of giving up; instead, it roused the pride inherent to Dragonite in its veins.

It aimed to conquer this storm in one go, charging straight into the typhoon’s core!

Dragonite gave its all, sprinting forward.

As the distance closed, the surrounding storm grew ever more fierce, with colossal strength crashing against Dragonite, nearly knocking it off balance, and pushing it back dozens of meters.

”Roar!”

Dragonite let out a howl, flapping its wings to regain stability, memories of the past and Naoki’s visage flickering through its mind.

Its eyes brimmed with determination.

Then, it surged forward once more.

The words Naoki once spoke echoed in Dragonite’s ears.

”To successfully execute a move, you must first understand the power behind it, and learn to control the energy.”

”If it doesn’t work once, then we’ll do it multiple times; one of those attempts will work.”

”As long as you don’t give up and keep striving, one day, people and Pokemon across the world will look up to you!”

Dragonite charged into the storm once more.

Ahead, the violent air currents swept in once again.

The experience gleaned from countless failures came to bear at this moment.

If it didn’t want to be repelled now, it should—!

Dragonite swiftly turned its body and extended its wings, the gale brushed past it.

Success!

No time to celebrate, another swirling gust followed right behind.

Dragonite’s focus never wavered; it quickly shifted its form to confront it.

The wind around was incredibly ferocious.

Dragonite gritted its teeth, charging forward with all its might.

Almost there, just one more step!

Gazing at the storm’s eye within reach, an unprecedented force emerged within its body.

A powerful Flying Type energy surged from within, the streaming air currents dispersing the last enveloping gust.

Dragonite accelerated suddenly, diving headfirst into the storm’s eye.

As it entered, at that moment, all the surrounding sounds vanished.

It was utterly tranquil here, with no wind or rain, as if in another world, exuding a serene and peaceful atmosphere.

This was Dragonite’s first time here.

Streams of air flowed around its body, the valiant testament to mastering the storm.

Dragonite curiously surveyed the surroundings, then looked upward.

Suddenly, it wanted to know what lay atop these high heavens.

So it flapped its wings, ascending, carrying its battled body upwards.

Just as it was about to reach the clouds, Dragonite suddenly sensed a mysterious gaze observing it.

It turned abruptly, seeing not far away, a massive figure as dark as a dragon loomed at the sky’s edge.
