Merging with Demon Spirits

Chapter 798: Chapter 601: Alfonso’s Hostility

Lin Feng left the tutor’s room, just closed the door, and happened to encounter Alfonso, who had just returned from outside.

Seeing Lin Feng coming out of Alice’s room, a trace of coldness appeared in Alfonso’s eyes.

He stopped and stared at Lin Feng.

Under Alfonso’s gaze, Lin Feng felt a chill all over, as if his heart was being fiercely gripped by someone’s hand, making it difficult to breathe.

If it weren’t for knowing that in such a public place, Alfonso couldn’t, and wouldn’t dare to make a move on him, Lin Feng would have wanted to run away immediately.

In the eyes of the students, Alfonso, nicknamed Mad Demon, was acknowledged as a ruthless person, heartless and even somewhat psychologically twisted.

Among many tutors, his exam wasn’t the hardest, not even in the top ten, but it was the most brutal and bloody.

In one mentor examination, seven students died in his examination venue, the type of death where there was no body left.

Even if students called out to Alfonso for help, wanting to abandon the examination, he ignored them, allowing students to be ruthlessly killed by werewolves, watching their bodies being devoured by the werewolves.

He chose his students not based on strength or combat profession but solely on whether they ”dare to kill”! Thus, his fifteen students were all fierce characters.

Facing a ruthless person with extraordinary power, and this person displaying hostility, even murderous intent towards him, it was already quite brave of Lin Feng not to turn pale or tremble all over.

”Why does he have such strong hostility towards me?”

Lin Feng pondered to himself, wondering if he had offended Alfonso somewhere? Or whether he had accidentally killed Alfonso’s descendant in some Space Gate?

Logically, it shouldn’t be!

Almost everyone he killed were Abnormal People, and he hadn’t killed any foreigners.

If Alfonso was after the bounty, it was impossible for him to show his hostility so openly.

”Mentor Alfonso.”

Lin Feng suppressed his inner anxiety, bowing to Alfonso in greeting.

”Coming to see the tutor so late?” Alfonso asked coldly.

”Yes, I came to ask the tutor some questions.”

Lin Feng replied calmly, but couldn’t completely hide the fear and tension on his face.

Perhaps it was this touch of fear that slightly dissipated the coldness in Alfonso’s eyes.

”What’s your goal in apprenticing?” Alfonso directly asked.

To such a minor character as Lin Feng, he had no need to play around with words.

At this moment, even a fool like Lin Feng could guess why Alfonso, an Extraordinary Tutor, who he had never met before, showed such strong hostility towards a mere student like him.

Everything was because of Alice.

The doubts Lin Feng originally had about Alice’s examination questions were answered at this moment.

No wonder Alice chose a group of students with royal backgrounds; everything she did seemed foolish but was all meant to counter Alfonso.

But in Lin Feng’s view, Alice’s idea was simply too naive.

Even if Chen Dali and others became kings, all of them combined and given ten times the courage, they wouldn’t dare speak a harsh word in front of Alfonso.

The forces and emperors behind them, even if without fear of Alfonso, even if mightier than Alfonso, wouldn’t offend an extraordinary figure for the sake of tutoring Chen Dali and others, for a middle-rank Spirit King.

”Because I’m interested in the ’Second Incarnation’.”

A thought flashed through his mind, and facing Alfonso’s questioning, Lin Feng immediately spoke without a hint of hesitation.

Although he intended to use the ’Second Incarnation’ as a trump card, at this moment, he had no notion to conceal it.

Because besides this reason, he couldn’t find any other explanation for why he would apprentice himself.

In order to apprentice under Alice, he rejected invitation cards from two other Extraordinary Tutors, and Alice was just a middle-rank Spirit King, and a Fire Mage, completely unrelated to his own attribute and combat profession.

By normal standards, among thirty-seven tutors, whomever Lin Feng chose as a mentor wouldn’t likely be Alice, whose strength ranked at the bottom.

Alfonso didn’t speak, just quietly watched Lin Feng, his expression impossible to decipher.

Lin Feng tried to maintain his composure, but his tone still carried a bit of urgency: ”Master Alice taught us today’s lesson, starting with the ’Second Incarnation’, explaining the pros and cons of cultivating this Secret Skill, asking who wanted to learn it? Besides me, who was interested, everyone thought the risk was too great and dared not learn, so Master Alice didn’t discuss it further. I came to the tutor’s dorm to learn this Secret Skill.”

Alfonso’s eyes were cold, filled with a kind of cruelty and savagery, his bloodthirsty pupils tightly staring at Lin Feng, trying to determine from Lin Feng’s eyes whether he was lying.

Lin Feng instinctively lowered his head, not daring to meet Alfonso’s gaze.

”Knowing the risks, you still have the courage to cultivate?” Alfonso asked.

During tutor discussions, Alice had explained the cultivation process for the ’Second Incarnation’, and Alfonso was present, so he naturally understood Alice’s Secret Skill.

The Secret Skill indeed deserved to be called a Divine Skill.

Although Alice was just a middle-rank Spirit King, Alfonso greatly admired her imagination and courage.

If not for the cultivation process being excessively dangerous, many Spirit Kings would go mad over it.

Among the tutors, some Martial Emperors were interested in this Secret Skill, showing its value.

Martial Emperors did not mean they couldn’t refine Demon Spirits; some Martial Emperors also refined Demon Spirits and even condensed Life Souls.

Even Martial Emperors dared not easily attempt such a Secret Skill, yet a Ninth Grade dares to cultivate it?

”I apprenticed for the ’Second Incarnation’. Before apprenticing, I didn’t know the risks of cultivating this Secret Skill would be so great, nor that the process would be so perilous. Already apprenticed, I don’t want to give up lightly. But Master Alice said cultivating the ’Second Incarnation’ not only requires entering the Double King Realm but also reaching middle-rank Spirit King, to nourish Life Souls with a Pocket World, which is far away for me. Considering this much won’t make a difference now.”

Lin Feng did not deny his desire to learn the ’Second Incarnation’, even knowing the enormous risk it entailed, he still wanted to try.

”Hmm.”

Alfonso’s gaze moved away from Lin Feng and stopped inquiring.

He believed in Lin Feng’s explanation.

Of course, whether Lin Feng’s words were true or false, cultivating the ’Second Incarnation’ was indeed still far away for Lin Feng at present.

The stronger one’s power, the more considerations there are.

Once Lin Feng truly steps into the Double King Realm and reaches middle-rank Spirit King, he most probably wouldn’t dare to cultivate the ’Second Incarnation’.

Actually, Alfonso didn’t care whether Lin Feng would cultivate this Secret Skill or not; even if successfully cultivated, so what?

Even if Lin Feng was exceptionally gifted and wanted to become extraordinary, he would still need twenty or thirty years.

What he truly cared about was Lin Feng’s purpose in apprenticing under Alice.

A mere Lin Feng naturally wouldn’t make someone as extraordinary as Alfonso apprehensive, but what he was wary of was the Avengers Alliance behind Lin Feng.

The alliance with limitless potential.

After Alfonso left and closed the door, Lin Feng finally started to depart.

After Lin Feng left, within the room, Alice’s tense body finally relaxed. She stood in place, silent for a long time, eyes flickering, unsure what she was thinking.
