Merging with Demon Spirits

Chapter 797: Chapter 600: Confession?

After sparring with Lin Feng, Alice announced the end of today’s class, and everyone was free to move around.

Having gained a general understanding of her students’ abilities and combat styles, Alice needed to go back and devise a teaching plan.

Her teaching responsibilities were far heavier than those of other instructors.

Though it was to escape Alfonso that she became an instructor of the King Becoming program, in Alice’s view, once she became a teacher, she had to be responsible for her students.

Even if these students apprenticed under her not out of recognition, but just to avoid being eliminated.

After Alice left, Lin Feng also withdrew from his Demon Transformation state, gently landing from mid-air.

”Lin Feng, don’t take it to heart. The instructor bullied the weak, summoning her Life Soul as a middle-ranked Spirit King, that’s really too much,”

Chen Dali came up to Lin Feng, patting his shoulder in consolation, while also smiling at He Jun standing nearby, expressing apology for the earlier one-move defeat.

Although He Jun was quite weak, her abilities were unique, and as a central figure in the Avengers Alliance, gaining her favor brought a glimmer of hope for future acceptance into the alliance.

He Jun returned a slight smile, a bit embarrassed by Chen Dali’s friendly gesture.

”It’s important to strengthen combat experience.”

He Jun silently told herself, resolutely deciding to seriously learn from the instructor’s teachings over the next three months, aiming not to become a Combat Master, but at least to have self-defense abilities.

”Exactly, the gap in strength between us and the instructor is too great, we’re not even on the same level.”

”Lin Feng, you’re only 21 this year, the instructor is probably already 43, there’s quite an age difference.”

”The instructor didn’t dare to hide her power because she feared that under the same realm she couldn’t defeat you, that would be very embarrassing.”

”Exactly, exactly.”

Other people also stepped forward to comfort him, as if deeply worried that Lin Feng might feel crushed.

Though Lin Feng appeared helpless against Alice, no one truly underestimated him.

Lin Feng could still easily defeat them.

Like Chen Dali, many wished to join the Avengers Alliance, and combined with Lin Feng’s own strength and reputation, these royal descendants showed him great respect and courtesy.

”I didn’t mind it either,” Lin Feng replied, smiling at those comforting him.

Indeed, he hadn’t taken it to heart.

Lin Feng was acutely aware of his attack weaknesses.

Even before refining the Dragon Fish, he had crafted a clear design and plan around his Soul Skill combinations, exploring numerous combination methods.

The slow movement and fragility of Bubble had been present from the start.

No matter how many high-level Soul Skills he absorbed, he couldn’t easily rectify it.

If not for this, during initial battles with enemies, he wouldn’t frequently resort to suicide-style explosions.

He didn’t have a masochistic inclination!

This method of exchanging injury for injury, killing eighty foes at the cost of affecting oneself a hundredfold, was a necessary measure.

Understanding his attack deficiencies, Lin Feng absorbed the ”Stand” Soul Skill, bringing about metamorphosis among seemingly unrelated Soul Skill combinations.

This also brought more possibilities to what was originally a singular combat style.

After absorbing the ”Stand” Soul Skill, he’d gained an absolute advantage in battles with enemies.

However, this advantage was powerless against fire-attributed high-level Spirit Kings.

If this time’s opponent had been a Martial King, even a middle-ranked one, Lin Feng would’ve held out for dozens of rounds.

”Once I absorb a Soul Skill that can change Bubble’s form, granting it more speed and strength, this problem can be directly solved.”

Lin Feng was clearly aware of his problem, yet hadn’t found the Soul Skill he desired.

....

As night fell, having finished dinner in the cafeteria, Lin Feng headed to the instructors’ residential area.

The instructors’ dormitories were obviously more upscale than the students’, and Lin Feng didn’t observe too closely, quickly arriving outside Alice’s room.

Before he could reach out to knock, the door opened from inside.

Wearing a black robe, Alice looked at Lin Feng with some surprise and queried, ”Is something the matter?”

For reasons unknown, Alice felt somewhat anxious at this moment.

In front of her student, she was actually a bit nervous.

”Why has Lin Feng come so late?”

”Couldn’t he speak during the day?”

”Does he actually like me? I’m over twenty years older than him!”

”If he were to confess, how should I respond?”

”Flat-out rejection would be bad, it might hurt him.”

Alice’s mind suddenly flooded with over a dozen thoughts.

”There’s some cultivation questions I’d like to ask you privately,” Lin Feng stated.

”Alright, then come in.”

After speaking, Alice glanced guiltily outside to ensure no other instructors were passing by. While turning around, her expression subtly shifted, already deliberating on how to tactfully refuse Lin Feng’s potential confession, to avoid embarrassing him.

Upon entering the room, Lin Feng closed the door behind him. His gaze swept around, observing the instructor’s dormitory.

The dormitory was roughly 30 square meters, simply but comfortably furnished, with brown carpet flooring, a sofa, a bed, a wine cabinet, and even a three-meter-long wardrobe, perhaps meant for female instructors.

”Please sit down, would you like something to drink?”

Alice glanced at the tightly closed door, pointing to the nearby sofa.

”No need, thank you, Master.”

Lin Feng sat on the sofa, facing Alice, so close that Alice’s pale cheeks slightly flushed.

”What do you want to talk about?”

Alice looked at Lin Feng’s serious demeanor, her heart ever more certain of her thoughts, and her pulse quickened.

As a Middle Rank Spirit King, without any combat situation, her pulse actually quickened!

This kind of feeling, reminiscent of her student days thirty years ago, filled Alice with shame,

for the person in front of her was none other than her student!

”Master, I want to cultivate the ’Second Incarnation.’

”What?”

Alice was stunned for a moment; from Lin Feng knocking on the door to entering and sitting on the sofa, she had prepared suitable words in just one minute, intending to reject Lin Feng’s confession with the attitude of a caring elder sister, gentle yet determined. However, Lin Feng completely deviated from the expected scenario.

”You want to cultivate the ’Second Incarnation’?”

Although she heard it clearly just moments ago, Alice couldn’t help but ask again.

”Yes, Master.”

”Why didn’t you tell me during the day?”

”Because I plan to use this secret skill as my trump card, which means it’s a sort of last resort!”

After a brief silence, Alice’s mood became complex, feeling both relieved and somewhat annoyed.

So it wasn’t a confession!

”I’ve already informed you in class about the risks of cultivating this secret skill. Aren’t you worried?”

Alice’s expression gradually became serious.

Lin Feng wanted to learn her secret skill, acknowledging the ’Second Incarnation,’ which naturally pleased her, but at the same time, she was worried, concerned about Lin Feng’s wellbeing.

She both wanted Lin Feng to cultivate and didn’t want him to cultivate.

With Lin Feng’s talent, if he learns the ’Second Incarnation,’ breaking through to Extraordinary in the future would likely face no major barriers. Even if there would be problems, they would be minor since the crucial step had already been completed in advance.

Extraordinary indeed!

That represents the pinnacle of power worldwide.

The benefits are enticing, but if failed, everything would be lost.

”I’m not worried, I am confident,” Lin Feng slightly shook his head and said.

Lin Feng’s confident tone did not lighten Alice’s expression, she still seriously asked: ”You have confidence in your talent, but have you considered, if you fail, what would the consequences be?”

Demon Spirits, for Demon Spirit Masters, are as vital as life.

Losing the Lifebound Demon Spirit is equivalent to losing everything.

Even if it can be refined again, the Demon Spirit still has to start growing from One Tier, expending a huge amount of money again, letting the Demon Spirit absorb Soul Skills, spending decades to return to the original point.

Lin Feng chuckled: ”Master Alice, do you know the bounty on my head?”

Lin Feng didn’t answer directly, instead asking another question.

Alice was taken aback, not expecting Lin Feng to respond like that.

Of course, Alice was aware of Lin Feng’s bounty.

It’s a figure that can drive anyone to madness, even an Emperor Level expert would be tempted.

It could be said, among the 37 masters, in the absence of supervision, some would certainly make a move against Lin Feng, perhaps more than one.

Lin Feng used his sky-high bounty to tell Alice a truth, that no danger would surpass the possible assassinations he might face in the future.

”Since you’ve thought it through, I won’t persuade you any further.”

Alice now understood why Lin Feng sought her privately.

Why he intended to regard the ’Second Incarnation’ as his trump card, too afraid to let others know.

At this moment, deep sympathy for Lin Feng arose in Alice’s heart.

This young man, only 21 years old and yet to graduate from university, is attracting the world’s attention while also enduring pressure unimaginable to ordinary people.

”If one has such a high bounty on their head, they would probably live in constant fear and anxiety.”

Alice thought to herself.

Such a bounty is more terrifying than the threat posed by Alfonso.

Having made up her mind, Alice began imparting the ’Second Incarnation’ to Lin Feng, along with precautions.

Lin Feng listened carefully.

In the end, Alice sternly warned Lin Feng: ”After you enter the Double King Realm, do not rush to nurture your Life Soul within the Pocket World. First, let the Life Soul adapt to the forces within the Pocket World in the Soul Sea, gradually transform it, and once you become a Middle Rank Spirit King, then have the Life Soul enter the Pocket World for nurturing. Absolutely remember my words, understood?”

At this point, Alice’s gaze closely fixed on Lin Feng.

”Understood.”

Lin Feng’s expression was serious, but within his heart, he didn’t take Alice’s warning seriously.

According to Alice’s advice, waiting until becoming a Middle Rank Spirit King to nurture the Life Soul would mean the opportunity would be missed.

Even dreaming of reaching a Middle Rank Spirit King, once the Pocket World emerges, Lin Feng intends to directly nurture the Nightmare within it, skipping any adaptation phase, he will proceed directly.

As for the Nightmare’s safety, Lin Feng did not worry at all.

As a former demigod entity, the Nightmare could not die so easily.

If it truly perishes, that would be the optimal outcome.
