Merging with Demon Spirits

Chapter 786: Chapter 590: A Special Meeting

The assessment for the Second Plan mentors has ended, but its influence continues to ferment.

Half an hour after the program ended, a special temporary meeting is being held in Shangjing Base City.

Attendees of this meeting are all high-ranking officials and emperors of the nation.

Each holds a high position, with authority and prestige. Their decisions will affect hundreds of thousands.

Hong Tao entered the meeting, glancing around with a hint of surprise.

The meeting isn’t heavily attended, but the attendees include leaders from major departments. The caliber of the meeting is extremely high, much to his astonishment.

”Chubby Zhou, what’s the theme of the meeting?”

Casually choosing a seat, Hong Tao directly inquired of the man next to him.

He had been cultivating when he suddenly got the notice to attend a meeting.

As for tonight’s King Plan, he hadn’t paid special attention. After all, it’s just a King Plan, not an Emperor Plan.

”I don’t know either, but it likely has something to do with the Avengers Alliance.”

The man questioned gave a bitter smile and answered.

If anyone else called him fatty, he’d flip out, but facing Hong Tao, who is an Extraordinary Powerhouse and an unreasonable brute, fighting back is pointless and might even earn a beating.

”Avengers Alliance?”

Hong Tao frowned slightly, feeling puzzled.

He certainly knows about the Avengers Alliance and has interacted with its captain, Lin Feng, several times.

He also admires Lin Feng.

A super genius with talent and battle achievements, no one wouldn’t appreciate him.

Moreover, he single-handedly closed the Land of Chaos and rescued Shangjing Base City.

If not for Lin Feng, whether Shangjing could stabilize remains unknown.

Even if Samyi were detonated, causing a space collapse, he wouldn’t be absolutely sure he could close the chaotic space gate.

Although the spirit medium is missing now, he’s not dead and might still be found.

So he owes Lin Feng a favor.

The Avengers Alliance has a brilliant track record, which is undeniable. But it’s just a league created by young talents.

Even though they have potential, wouldn’t they deserve a meeting of such high caliber specifically for them?

Seeing Hong Tao’s puzzled expression, Chubby Zhou knew he certainly hadn’t watched tonight’s program, so he summarized: ”The Avengers Alliance had ten members successfully become apprentices, all of them promoted.”

Not only was everyone promoted, but there are three additional helper slots.

By now, many forces are taking interest in these three slots.

”Hmm?”

Hong Tao squinted slightly; his first reaction was that it’s impossible!

Though he didn’t watch the show, he knows the mentor assessment had a high elimination rate, and even students at the peak of Ninth Grade might not succeed in becoming apprentices.

Are Lin Feng and the others really that strong?

After the initial shock, Hong Tao finally understood why this meeting was specifically convened.

The Avengers Alliance has had brilliant achievements, but those achievements happened inside the other-dimensional space gates, under restrained power.

Within the alliance, the strongest is Bu Zheng, a Ninth Grade on the brink of death, not even a king.

In essence, just an alliance of gathered geniuses with potential, without the qualification to enter the core battlefield.

Even though the members of this alliance have extraordinary talents, representing the younger generation, with the tense current situation and the impending full-scale war on the Divine Martial Continent, more likely than not, they won’t be given time to grow.

This is the real reason why various forces don’t take this alliance seriously.

In wartime, a genius who hasn’t grown is nothing.

But now, ten members have successfully become apprentices, and all have been promoted.

Considering their talent, along with the teaching resources and rewards from the King Plan, before long, this alliance might have seventeen kings.

Mind you, even in a single Base City, there are just about ten Guardians, and the relatively weaker Habei Base City has just ten Guardians.

Moreover, they are so young.

Being young means having an unlimited future, with the potential to become emperors.

Their probability of becoming emperors is several times higher than other students.

Many had already compared the Avengers Alliance to a ’Little Pure Land’; now it seems realistic this isn’t merely talk.

As a middle-aged woman entered the meeting room, the meeting doors closed slowly.

”The meeting is starting. Surely some of you have already guessed the theme of this meeting.”

The woman spoke on her own, without giving others a chance to speak, and directly waved her hand, causing the bright lights to extinguish suddenly.

”Buzz...”

In the dark environment, a buzzing sound arose, and a light curtain unfolded, catching the attention of all nine attendees. The more they watched, the more serious and excited they became.

On the light curtain were photographs of young individuals.

Each photo has basic information and a growth summary, along with a lengthy and highly professional evaluation and power estimation of up to several hundred words, totaling seventeen individuals, who are members of the Avengers Alliance.

”Alright, the materials have been introduced. Does anyone have anything to say regarding the Avengers Alliance?”

The woman asked.

”With their potential, we must protect them well, and at the same time, find every way possible to keep this alliance under government control.”

Sitting in the first row at the conference table, a somewhat corpulent elder opened up: ”Even if we cannot control them fully, we must have our people within the alliance.”

”I support Minister Li’s view; the Avengers Alliance must have our people.”

Someone expressed support for the elder’s opinion.

”Control?”

A man in a suit asked, his tone carrying a hint of sarcasm: ”Control what? Control their freedom? Or control their future?”
