Merging with Demon Spirits

Chapter 753: Chapter 563: Slick Maneuvers

Silhouettes rushed onto the Celestial Ladder, climbing swiftly.

Some transformed into demons, some flapped their Spiritual Power Wings, and soared along the Celestial Ladder, trying to be clever. But while they could fly, their bodies couldn’t touch the ladder.

At this moment, the ladder seemed to be a phantom in existence.

There were many trying to be clever, but eventually, they had to return to the ground helplessly, starting from the first step.

”Haha.”

”If it were that easy, there wouldn’t be any competition.”

”You still have to ground yourself!”

Someone laughed and taunted, but those trying to be clever didn’t mind.

”We go last.”

Lin Feng considered the number of people and didn’t want the climbing process to be too crowded, so he waited for others to ascend the Cloud Ladder before leading his team toward the Celestial Ladder.

Their action naturally caught the attention of the staff.

Many people discussed.

In their view, just based on this first plan, the Avengers Alliance would have more than half eliminated.

”One by one, form a line. I’ll pave the way first, then Little Sister Dong follows, Yun Kai third, He Jun fourth, Yun Tianqi fifth. In pairs of strong and weak, one leads another. If anyone can’t bear it, just say a word and the person behind will give a push. Ye Xing, take care of Gongshan and Gong Xiaoxiao at the end.”

In front of the ladder, Lin Feng spoke to everyone.

”Okay.” Ye Xing responded.

The others nodded, began to line up.

Lin Feng stepped onto the first step, and the originally phantom-like Cloud Ladder suddenly became solid, slightly concave downwards, rippling like stepping on clouds.

”No rush, keep the pace.”

Lin Feng said as he had just stepped onto the Cloud Ladder, barely reaching the tenth step, when he felt the gravity around him change.

The higher he went, the greater the gravity.

Ascending the ladder, there was no danger, but it was a dual challenge to the body and will.

Upon reaching the 100th step, Lin Feng felt his body obviously become heavy, as if wrapped in a viscous liquid.

Upon reaching the 200th step, each step required a considerable amount of energy. By this time, Gong Xiaoxiao and Gongshan couldn’t hold on anymore, and Ye Xing directly carried the two on his back.

His physique was the strongest; this laborious task could only be done by him.

Gongshan’s expression seemed embarrassed and awkward, feeling very ashamed. Gong Xiaoxiao’s eyes were blank, completely unaware of what was happening.

Half an hour later, by the time they reached the 620th step, He Jun, Dong Yunan, Chen Tianming, and Bing had weak legs trembling constantly.

If not for someone behind using their hands to push their backs, they probably wouldn’t have held on.

Compared to other contestants, their physical qualities were indeed much worse.

Yang Ningbing and Yu Qiao also faced considerable pressure, their faces slightly pale, yet still not reaching their limits, stronger compared to He Jun and the others.

”No more, my legs are really about to break.”

Dong Yunan said weakly, drenched in sweat.

Even with Yun Kai pushing, she couldn’t hold on.

”We’re only halfway up the ladder, and you’re giving up already?”

Ye Xing’s laughter came from behind.

He carried the Gongshan siblings easily without entering the Demon Transformation state.

”You’re a Frenzied Giant Beast, we are not.”

An always quiet He Jun couldn’t help but say.

It wasn’t a matter of lacking determination, but genuinely lacking energy, the body exhausted, each step, even lifting a foot, brought numbness and pain.

”Rest first, take Pills to recover Qi and Blood, and Soul Power. Little Sister Dong and Chen Tianming, use Healing Techniques on yourselves and others.”

Lin Feng said. Like Ye Xing, he too felt little exertion.

Although half of the ladder’s total journey had passed, it was only just beginning, as further pressure lay ahead.

They hadn’t seen anyone’s back yet, meaning they were still at the end.

In terms of strength and physique, Dong Yunan and the others were indeed at the bottom among the contestants.

Seeing Lin Feng call for rest, Dong Yunan and Chen Tianming didn’t hesitate, sitting down on the steps, rubbing their legs. After a brief rest, they gathered their spirits to cast Healing Techniques on themselves.

With the Healing Techniques, they recovered somewhat and began treating others, naturally Lin Feng and Ye Xing didn’t need it.

”Alright.”

Ten minutes later, Lin Feng stood from the ladder, Dong Yunan and the others gritted their teeth and pressed on without complaint.

By the time they reached the 655th step, Dong Yunan and the others were on the brink of collapse, bodies at their limits, unable to go on, even Healing Techniques were ineffective.

No strength left to cast Healing Techniques.

”Really can’t.” He Jun said weakly.

The body had reached its limit, losing control; even with strong will, it was to no avail.

”Those who can go, continue; those who can’t, wait here. I’ll go up and check, then use Stand to swap with you.” Lin Feng said.

”Will that work?”

Ye Xing asked, still carrying the Gongshan siblings. With his strength, taking them to the 800th step should be fine.

”They said helping each other was allowed. Since the rules didn’t say no, it’s okay. Make use of the rules.”

Lin Feng laughed.

Leaving the team, his speed increased and soon disappeared from their sight.

”Always relying on Brother Feng.”

He Jun’s mood dipped, feeling embarrassed.

Chen Tianming and the others were no different.

They couldn’t even clear the first hurdle, which was awkward.

”Haha, it’s not something you should take part in at this stage.” Yun Tianqi comforted.

Not to mention He Jun and the others, even he and Ye Xing felt the same.

”First one!”

Upon reaching the 663rd step, Lin Feng slightly raised his head and saw a back for the first time, a woman whose body had reached its limit, lying on the ladder. As Lin Feng passed by, he noticed that half her face was drained of color, ghostly pale, body trembling uncontrollably.

Her face was full of pain and despair.

She heard footsteps behind but lacked the strength to turn her head.

”Fifth one.”

”Twenty-seventh one.”

Next, Lin Feng gradually saw more backs, at increasing frequency.

Lin Feng continued surpassing others, and by the time he reached the 729th step, the immense gravity was challenging him too; his Spiritual Power fluctuated slightly, and Lin Feng activated the Fish Dragon Transformation, entering the Dragon Transformation state.

”Surpassed 259 people; surpassing at least 350 is safe.”

Lin Feng thought silently.

Ninety-nine percent of those he passed would be eliminated, having reached their limits and stopping. Brief rest didn’t alter the outcome.

”Three hundredth one.”

Upon reaching the 741st step, Lin Feng had surpassed three hundred people; by the 753rd, he had surpassed 350.

At this point, Lin Feng didn’t continue climbing but stayed in place, waiting a minute or two until Ye Xing appeared within his view.

He didn’t look very fatigued.

”How did you get so high? I calculated; we have surpassed three hundred and fifty people.” Ye Xing questioned with confusion.

”The competition eliminates three hundred. Surpass fifty more to be safe.”

”True.” Ye Xing nodded.

”Gongshan, gesture to forfeit.”

Lin Feng said to Gongshan, who waved his hand with difficulty. Even though carried, he still felt great gravity, movement proved tough.

Soon, a middle-aged man flapped Spiritual Power Wings and appeared beside the ladder.

”Giving up?”

The middle-aged man asked calmly.

”Yes, we siblings choose to forfeit.” Gongshan replied.

The man didn’t waste words, immediately grabbing both and flying back to the ground.

Lin Feng looked down the ladder, observing many who forfeited, being sent down constantly.

”You two stay here, look around later.”

Lin Feng said.

Once he finished speaking, his figure vanished, and He Jun appeared at his spot in a prone position due to the gravity, barely able to lift her head.

Ye Xing waved, and the earlier vanished middle-aged man appeared again.

”She’s forfeiting!”

Ye Xing pointed at He Jun.

The man glanced at He Jun, understanding immediately, feeling unsurprised.

Flapping Spiritual Power Wings, he took He Jun back to the ground.

Lin Feng had returned to the 550th step.

”Give me a Healing Technique.”

Lin Feng said to Dong Yunan and Chen Tianming.

After simple recovery, amid teammates’ embarrassed and amazed glances, Lin Feng continued climbing. Once surpassing 350 people again, he used Stand Soul Skill, swapping out Bing, Yu Qiao... finally Dong Yunan and Chen Tianming.

Lin Feng kept climbing, constantly using Stand Soul Skill, swapping out nine people.

This tricky maneuver stunned the staff below the ladder.
