I Can Fish Up Everything!

Chapter 148: Chapter 119: Unexpected Elite BOSS (3)

[After fusion, the physical Fengqi Coast map will close. By equipping the golden Fengqi set, the host can now access this map in any sea and catch seafood native to the Fengqi Coast.]

[Ding! Special items will now appear along the Fengqi Coast. After catching them, the host will obtain various items from the game.]

[Ding! Fengqi Coast Foraging Mode is now unlocked. The host may enter once per week. Please check for more details on your own.]

Gu Nan was stunned after reading the new game update. He hadn’t expected that besides the anticipated stacking of daily guaranteed catches, there would also be even stronger golden equipment.

A foraging mode had also appeared. ’He was pretty curious about that. What exactly was it?’

As for the special items, he actually ignored them.

The game items were probably just the ones from treasure chests—useful, but not particularly appealing.

The most attractive thing to him was the golden equipment. Gu Nan immediately stored the purple set in the game and was about to use the fusion stone.

[Ding! Insufficient Gold Coins. Fusion requires 50,000 Gold Coins. Please acquire the required amount as soon as possible.]

”Holy crap, fifty thousand?”

Gu Nan, who had just been feeling quite wealthy, immediately let out a choice curse word. Fifty thousand Gold Coins! How long would that take to save up? He couldn’t wait another second.

Why do people spend real money on games? Isn’t it because they see awesome gear and goodies and just can’t stop themselves from splurging?

Gu Nan’s eyes widened. If the game had a way to spend real money, he probably wouldn’t have been able to resist topping up to exchange for Gold Coins.

”It’s a fishing game, for crying out loud. Why can’t it learn a thing or two from the big gaming companies?”

Gu Nan sighed. Fortunately, he had used a Gold Coin card.

He had earned an incredible 19,150 Gold Coins today. After the final settlement, he would get an additional 5,745 Gold Coins, bringing his total to over 28,600.

Then he could do the elite quests, try for the collection rewards, and add in the daily quest rewards. He wouldn’t have to wait too long after all.

Originally, Gu Nan had planned to buy the purple seven-star equipment first, but now he would have to keep waiting on that.

The golden equipment was just too tempting. The ability to fish for Fengqi Coast seafood anytime just by carrying the rod meant he had to prioritize getting this set.

He reluctantly tore his gaze away from the fusion stone and began to check out the foraging mode that had piqued his interest.

’Only once a week? It must be full of treasures, right?’

Upon inspection, he found it to be a rather sci-fi-like function.

The game would directly pull his Spirit into the Fengqi Coast map, randomly teleporting him to a spot on the shore. It would also provide some basic foraging tools so he could get to work.

During the foraging period, he couldn’t use the aquarium or the refrigerated storage functions. The time limit was three hours, synced with real-world time.

’This...’

Gu Nan was a little speechless. ’Once a week is one thing, but it’s only for three hours?’

’Unless the haul is absolutely incredible, how much could I possibly get?’

Soon, the fishing boat returned to the dock. Gu Nan packed up his things and headed home with his damp clothes.

He needed to rest up. Sheng Shuyun was coming over tomorrow.

So on the way, he chose to ship out the blue crabs, groupers, and lobsters he had caught that night. This included the marlin weighing over 440 pounds and the elite BOSS: a blue-bodied Large-spot Grouper.

This haul was certainly eye-catching; he had to show others what he was capable of.

Foraging in the game would also be tiring, mainly in terms of Spirit, so Gu Nan didn’t use the new feature after getting home. He chose to just get some sleep.

「At ten the next morning, his phone alarm went off.」

Gu Nan, who had been sound asleep, was startled awake. He reached out, turned off the alarm, and tried to go back to sleep.

But he had already been woken up. No matter how much he wanted to sleep, his mind was already active. After tossing and turning for a while, he ultimately couldn’t fall back asleep.

’Well, might as well get up then!’

Sheng Shuyun wasn’t coming until the afternoon, so there was no rush.

He got up slowly. When he arrived at the shop, there was still a crowd at the entrance looking at the big fish and taking all sorts of pictures.

Yi Chen breathed a sigh of relief when she saw him arrive. She had been waiting to go buy groceries.

With the big fish displayed at the entrance, she couldn’t slip away to do the shopping like she usually did.

If Gu Nan hadn’t shown up, she was planning on ordering takeout for lunch.

”Boss, what’s for lunch?”

”Let me think...”

”Boss, you look like you haven’t woken up yet. You didn’t go out to sea again last night, did you?”

Yi Chen asked suspiciously, seeing that his Spirit wasn’t in great shape.

He had eaten dinner with her last night and even went for a walk afterward. ’He went out to sea after all that, so late at night?’

”I just went to bed a bit late last night,” Gu Nan said, feeling a little guilty for some reason. He faked an answer and quickly changed the subject. ”How about we have pickled vegetable fish for lunch? You go buy the ingredients, and I’ll take care of the fish.”

Yi Chen’s attention was successfully diverted. She knew he was about to sacrifice one of the shop’s fish.

But he was the boss, so what could she, an employee, say? She could only nod in agreement and head out to buy the groceries.

Gu Nan paced back and forth in front of a row of fish tanks before finally picking up a net and scooping out a Blue Star Nine-spine Sea Perch of about four and a half pounds.

He personally felt that this fish’s meat was more tender and would be just as good as a Tai Star Garoupa for making pickled vegetable fish.

By the time Yi Chen returned, two plates were already on the table: one with sliced fish fillets, and another with the chopped fish head and skeleton.

She shook her head slightly. ’There goes nearly a thousand.’

Still, thanks to her boss, she was getting to eat such an expensive fish today.

Since they were only making one dish for lunch—the pickled vegetable fish—it was quite fast.

It was just past eleven when the two of them sat down with their bowls of rice.

Gu Nan picked up a slice of fish and put it in his mouth. ”Tsk tsk, you really get what you pay for. After eating this, how could I ever go back to eating snakehead?”

”A thousand for one meal? Who can afford that! Even if you got this fish at wholesale price, it’d still be over five hundred,” Yi Chen retorted.

The wholesale invoices for these fish all had prices on them; she had seen them all.

But she had no idea that a certain someone had a cheat system, making his costs much lower—practically free.

Gu Nan didn’t argue with her about it because the delivery person had arrived. He quickly finished his meal and went to unpack the boxes.
