I Can Fish Up Everything!

Chapter 141: Chapter 117: Gu Nan: Dahuang, You Also Know I Caught a Big Fish?

Unsurprisingly, they replied to his messages quickly.

Zhao Jie, who used a lot for his Japanese restaurant, wanted five hundred jin. The people from Jixian wanted three hundred jin.

Gu Nan now had a plan. He went to the refrigerated hold, counted out eighty yellowtail of about ten jin each, and piled them in a corner.

Then he counted out ten more of a similar size to sell at his shop.

He only chose ten because he had already sorted out the ones over thirty jin last night—seven of them in total.

There were also two Meter Level ones, which he planned to give to Wang Junhe and Guo Xiao.

These seven, plus the ten ten-jin fish, would fill up the freezer in his shop. He didn’t have room for any more.

Besides, the hotels didn’t need exceptionally large fish. It would be a waste to give them such fish, and he couldn’t get a better price for them anyway.

When the fishing boat returned to the dock, a refrigerated transport truck was already waiting.

A man in his thirties with a big beer belly, wearing a white short-sleeved shirt, boarded the boat with a huge smile and greeted Wang Junhe and Guo Xiao.

”Ah Nan, let me introduce you. This is my friend, the procurement manager for Junhao Hotel.” Wang Junhe introduced them to each other.

Hearing that the man was a procurement manager, Gu Nan understood instantly. He immediately pulled out the Hua Zi cigarettes he had swiped from Guo Xiao’s boat, passed them around, and lit them for everyone.

Gu Nan pretended to smoke as well, but he didn’t inhale.

That’s just how it was in some situations. The moment he heard Wang Junhe mention that the hotel was here to buy, he had been ready.

Sheng Shuyun knew Wang Junhe and Guo Xiao thanks to his own uncle.

His uncle was the majority shareholder of Junhao Hotel, the one who really called the shots. Now, seeing these two big shots personally introduce this young man to him, and hearing that he also ran a seafood shop, how could he not understand what was going on?

He immediately added Gu Nan on WeChat and said he would bring people to the seafood shop tomorrow to take a look.

’I can’t believe I’m benefiting from these two big brothers after all.’ Gu Nan felt that his gift of two Meter Level fish had not been in vain.

Just then, the workers Sheng Shuyun had brought began moving the fish, frozen as hard as bricks, out of the refrigerated hold. They piled them on the deck and began to weigh them.

The one over two and a half meters long was wrapped in plastic wrap and covered with a nylon bag, so they didn’t notice it.

Gu Nan hurried over to tell them which ones were not for sale, so they wouldn’t make a mistake.

”By the way, Brother Guo, Brother Wang, don’t forget to take the two Meter Level fish in the hold. It’s not every day you catch ones this big.”

The two of them paused for a moment, then a smile touched both their lips.

Then, Wang Junhe went into the refrigerated hold, picked out a few fish he wanted to give as gifts, and had the workers move the rest out as well.

Gu Nan didn’t notice this. As a result, when all the fish were counted and he heard the total was 3,773 jin, he froze. ”How much? Could that be a mistake? There shouldn’t be that many.”

He knew perfectly well how much fish he had caught. He had set aside about a thousand jin, so there should have been around 2,500 jin left. How could it possibly be almost four thousand jin?

He hurried over to take a look and immediately spotted some that didn’t have ties on them.

”Mistake, mistake! The ones without ties aren’t...”

”What do you mean, ’aren’t’? They’re yours,” Wang Junhe said, patting his shoulder. ”We have no use for this many fish, and we certainly don’t have space for them at home. Taking a few to give as gifts, plus the one you gave us to take home, is more than enough.”

Guo Xiao also smiled and said, ”Next time we go out to sea, we’ll trade our small fish for your big ones again. Just make sure you don’t get stingy on us.”

Gu Nan had a complicated look in his eyes. These two big brothers wouldn’t let him lose out on anything. In fact, they were letting him take advantage of them, treating him like a younger brother.

’We’re all just fishing buddies,’ he thought. He couldn’t understand why they were doing this.

Of course, Wang Junhe and Guo Xiao didn’t have any ulterior motives. They were doing it purely because they enjoyed his company.

They weren’t short on money, so they simply took the opportunity to look out for him.

But because of this, in Sheng Shuyun’s eyes, the relationship between the three of them seemed incredibly strong, which made him pay even more attention to Gu Nan’s business.

Over 3,700 jin, even at a price of just sixty-five yuan per jin, came out to more than 245,000 yuan. Gu Nan had basically gotten rich overnight.

A short while later, Zhao Jie and Zhang Mingfei also drove to the dock.

One order was for thirty fish, totaling 332 jin. The total price was 21,500 yuan, with the change rounded off.

The other was for fifty fish, totaling 578 jin. The total price was 37,500 yuan, and the change was waived for this one too.

So this time, even selling the fish at wholesale price, Gu Nan’s income exceeded 300,000 yuan by exactly four thousand.

”I’ll issue you the invoices when I get back!”

Making 300,000 yuan in a single day made Gu Nan’s head spin. When had he ever seen so much money?

”Invoice? What invoice? I’m buying these fish from a fisherman, not imported fish from your seafood shop,” Sheng Shuyun said with a puzzled look.

Gu Nan froze for a second. Seeing Sheng Shuyun wink at him, he instantly understood.

’That’s right. Fishermen don’t need to pay taxes when they sell fish. He had bought a boat and gotten a fishing license, so he could fish legally.’

’When he got the license, he had paid water resource protection fees and so on, which were essentially taxes.’

’So, he didn’t need to pay additional taxes on his catch, which meant this was all pure profit.’

Fishermen used to have to pay taxes, but that was later abolished.

These days, some small-scale coastal fishermen even receive government subsidies, though Gu Nan didn’t qualify for those.

After the fish were sold, Sheng Shuyun left the dock with his employees, telling Gu Nan that they should have a meal together tomorrow.

The owner of Jixian and Zhao Jie also left quickly after buying their fish. They needed to hurry back and get the fish into storage.
