I Can Fish Up Everything!

Chapter 147: Chapter 119: Unexpected Elite BOSS (2)

He was curious about the grouper. Did the Indian Ocean have Giant Groupers too?

Gu Nan had never really looked into that.

He knew how to fish for this type of large grouper. Bracing the butt of the rod against his belt, he used his core strength to immediately haul the fish up a little.

At the same time, the Elite BOSS, having been pulled up several meters, also fought back, gradually dragging the angle of Gu Nan’s rod back down.

’It’s not a big deal.’ Groupers fought in bursts, unlike the Indian marlin with its relentless, continuous struggle.

Both sides were now locked in a battle of strength, resulting in a temporary stalemate.

But for Gu Nan, catching this fish was leagues easier than the Indian marlin.

After a short stalemate, the fish’s strength waned for a moment, and he quickly yanked the rod up and reeled in the line.

Repeating this process, it took Gu Nan only about forty minutes to drag the Elite BOSS to the surface.

It really was a grouper. And with that huge mouth, it looked far more terrifying than the Indian marlin.

The grouper was grayish-white overall, but its body was covered in black circular spots.

The one Gu Nan had caught seemed decent. It was much larger than the false oil-spot grouper from last time, measuring around 1.3 or 1.4 meters in length.

It had the same top-heavy build, and its weight was probably about what he’d expected—around fifty kilograms.

Groupers that surpassed the Meter Level basically just got wider.

Even though this grouper was only thirty to forty centimeters longer than the false oil-spot grouper, its weight had nearly doubled.

If it reached 1.7 meters, it could weigh as much as a hundred kilograms.

However, this fish was longer and leaner than a Giant Grouper. At two meters, it probably wouldn’t reach two hundred kilograms.

’The final entry in the encyclopedia is finally unlocked.’ But now, what to do with the grouper? Keep it alive or...

If he kept it alive, Gu Nan’s shop didn’t have a tank big enough to hold it.

More importantly, he had no way to get the fish aboard alive. There was no crane on the boat, and it might escape if he unhooked it. So, in the end, he chose to kill it.

For a grouper of this size, it was more normal for it to be dead anyway.

After stowing the grouper in the refrigerated hold, Gu Nan hurried back to the cabin entrance. He took off his raincoat and hung it by the door, wiped his hat with a cloth and set it aside, then started the fishing boat and headed back.

After switching to cruise mode, he began to read the encyclopedia entry for the Elite BOSS.

Blue-Body Large-Spot Grouper, also known as the Black-Spot Grouper. This species is farm-raised, and the farmed variety is called the Money-Spot Grouper.

This fish is found in the Indian Ocean and the Western Pacific Ocean, including the waters of East Africa, South Africa, and Queensland, Australia.

However, South Africa and Australia’s Great Barrier Reef National Park have listed it as a protected species, so on paper, this fish was from East Africa.

It could grow to a maximum length of two meters. Gu Nan’s eyes lit up when he saw that.

’If I use a Rare Fish Card and a Big Fish Bonus Card, combined with the purple Fengqi set, I might actually be able to catch one that size.’

The yellowtail amberjack in the shop was being picked up tomorrow afternoon. He would need another large fish to display out front.

Even if it was an import, this Blue-Body Large-Spot Grouper was perfect for the job!

Its flavor rating was decent, reaching six and a half stars. It was a massive grouper whose taste was in no way inferior to a Giant Grouper.

How it’s prepared depends on the chef’s skill, but with its versatility in cooking, it can be even more delicious than a Giant Grouper.

Some shops kept this fish, as it was considered a Feng Shui Fish.

However, those sold on the domestic market were all farm-raised. Wild ones were extremely rare, and the price difference between the two was night and day.

The farmed ones cost around 150, while wild ones were at least double that.

Moreover, wild ones could be legally bought and sold domestically. After all, the fish was currently assessed by the IUCN as a species of ”Least Concern.”

The game’s suggested selling price started at 300.

But as it was a BOSS, the ones Gu Nan caught were never small. So, the final selling price would depend on the bids he received.

But when Gu Nan read that it could be used as a Feng Shui Fish, he was instantly filled with regret. ’If I had known, I would have jumped into the water myself to get it into the aquarium alive!’

’The tank in the shop is too small? Then I could have just built up the walls of the pond! I could have cleared half the refrigerated display area to make space for it.’

Remembering how the lively scene in front of his shop yesterday had improved business, he decided to change the layout again after the typhoon passed.

He’d build a pond that could hold a large fish. He’d also move the vegetable-washing table from the entrance and set up a display stand specifically for large fish.

As for how to get a large fish onto it, he could just buy a small, portable, and foldable crane.

There was empty space at the very back of the shop, next to the two freezers, where he could store the crane when it wasn’t in use.

A small one could lift five hundred kilograms at most—and in reality, probably not even that much—but it would be more than enough for Gu Nan’s needs.

He could even install a small crane on his boat to avoid being unable to bring a huge catch aboard alive.

He took out his phone and jotted down these tasks, lest he forget them in a moment.

He had made a killing on Gold Coins today. The Elite BOSS gave him four thousand, plus an additional two thousand as a bonus, for a total of six thousand.

It was a shame this grouper was only ”large.” If it had been ”giant,” he would have received an additional collection reward for a giant-sized Elite.

Even so, with today’s huge earnings, Gu Nan’s Gold Coin savings had reached 22,900.

He was only 9,100 away from the 32,000 needed for the seven-star purple set. ’Almost there.’

[Ding! Congratulations, Host, for unlocking all encyclopedia entries for the Fengqi Coast. The accumulation function has been activated, with a maximum accumulation of seven days. You have been rewarded with one Fengqi Golden Fusion Stone.]

[The Fengqi Fusion Stone can be used to fuse the Fengqi Coast map with the Fengqi purple set, creating an all-new golden Fengqi set.]
