His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1946: Chapter 558: The First Time She Got This Jealous (Part 4)

Qiao Yi explained.

”The boss’s wife?”

Yang Qin couldn’t remember that Qin Mu was there at the time, feeling a bit annoyed, she weakly asked Qiao Yi: ”Why was the boss’s wife there too? Don’t lie to me, it was just me and the boss upstairs at the time.”

”You’ll understand once you go back to work, Qin Mu happened to be there at that time.”

Qiao Yi patiently explained to her.

Yang Qin said no more, just thinking that she needed to muster the energy to return to work soon.

”You need to rest for half a month after the surgery, Mu always said you can’t go back to work within half a month.”

”Why? I have nothing else to do if I’m not working!”

”But you can’t really do anything at work anyway, someone will cover for you during this time. Just rest well at home, don’t make it difficult for everyone, okay?”

Qiao Yi remained patient; in negotiations, he had always been very capable.

Yang Qin didn’t argue with him further, but still felt unconvinced. All she could think about was getting better as soon as possible.

”Isn’t your mom here? Do you want to contact her to take care of you?”

Qiao Yi mentioned this again, as although he could fulfill his duty as a colleague by waiting for her to wake up, he couldn’t care for her like family.

”No need! You can leave, if I need anything I’ll call the nurse!”

Yang Qin turned her head to the other side, her eyes slightly misty.

Seeing her insistence, Qiao Yi nodded: ”I’ll head back then, call if you need something.”

After he left, Yang Qin somehow started crying again, thinking about when Mu Yichen held her, she was somewhat conscious at the time, and heard his worried calls.

Including her own parents...

Yang Qin had long known her life was a failure, but she didn’t know why someone who had lived so coldly suddenly started yearning for warmth.

After Mu Yichen and Qin Mu returned to the office building, they parted ways. As it was almost noon, Qin Mu drove to the fashion store to have lunch nearby with Wang Li and Xiang Hang.

Wang Li and Xiang Hang had just started dating, their relationship mode was somewhat like an old married couple, neither overly intimate nor overly distant, just very cooperative with each other.

Qin Mu looked at the two sitting together but didn’t feel any sense of romance, unable to pinpoint the reason.

When she went to the bathroom, Wang Li went with her, and Qin Mu curiously asked Wang Li about it. Wang Li said: ”At our age, still acting like we’re twenty and dating, that would be strange! We feel quite good, he comes to my place at night, I cook for him, after dinner he leaves, I tidy up and then rest. Life feels quite fulfilling, but I’m not alone anymore, it’s nice.”

Qin Mu still couldn’t understand why two people just having meals together was good.

As Mu always said, liking someone means you want to possess her, right?

But looking at Wang Li and Xiang Hang, neither seemed interested in possessing each other.

Yet everyone’s views on love are different, so the ways they manage relationships are naturally different too.

After lunch, the three returned to the store, Wang Li prepared coffee, while Qin Mu and Xiang Hang sat in the lounge area waiting. At a little past one, there weren’t many people in the store, allowing them to rest.

”Coffee’s ready!”

Wang Li carried over three cups of coffee, giving one to Qin Mu and then one to Xiang Hang. Xiang Hang habitually said: ”Thank you!”

”Do I need to say thank you too?”

Qin Mu couldn’t help but smile, asking seriously, her sharp eyes wandering over their faces.

”He’s just like that, habitually polite, you don’t need to learn from him!”

Wang Li glanced at Xiang Hang, seemingly resigned, then looked back at Qin Mu to speak.

Qin Mu looked at them with a bit of an ambiguous gaze: ”Speaking of which, you two have been dating for a while, has Hang ever given Li any decent gifts?”

”Hmm?”

Xiang Hang didn’t understand Qin Mu, gifts? Why give gifts?

”Qin Mu!”

Wang Li whispered to Qin Mu, not wanting her to say too much and embarrass Xiang Hang.

”Is your birthday coming up?”

Who knew Xiang Hang was a bit oblivious in matters of the heart, misunderstanding Qin Mu’s words.

Qin Mu couldn’t help but hold her breath, Wang Li quickly waved her hands: ”No, no, my birthday was long past, she was joking with you.”

Listening to Wang Li, Xiang Hang felt he hadn’t done anything wrong, but looking again at Qin Mu, still felt something was amiss, had he missed an important point?

In the afternoon, Qin Mu visited the bookstore under renovation, then returned to the studio, and when parking the car, it was silent inside.

Xiaomei and Xiaoyan were whispering at the reception desk, as were others. Only upon entering did Qin Mu realize everyone was there, but why was it so quiet today?

”You’re all here! I thought no one was back yet!”

Qin Mu exclaimed, looking at Xiaomei several times before walking inside with her bag.

Xiaomei and Xiaoyan lowered their heads at the reception, observing silently, and after she walked away, couldn’t help but sneak a peek at her back.
