His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1912: Chapter 549: I Told Her I Was Worried My Wife Would Catch a Cold (Second Update)

”I’m still alive, and you pity me already? If I were dead, wouldn’t you be unable to live?”

Qin Mu raised her hand to grab his hand resting on her face, angrily flipping the question back at him, trying to loosen his grip, only to have him clasp her hand instead.

”You’re really skilled at tormenting me!”

Mu Yichen initially wanted to provoke her a bit, instilling some guilt in her heart, but instead, he was the one provoked by Qin Mu.

He had to admit, his wife did indeed hold the upper hand in their marriage, even daring to mention death; he had nothing more to say.

”Let’s sleep!”

Seeing him at a loss for words, Qin Mu wanted to turn around to rest, but Mu Yichen pulled her hand to his chest, forbidding her from turning.

That silent protest drew Qin Mu’s gaze back to him: ”Do you have anything else, Mr. Mu?”

That’s when Mr. Mu laughed, stubbornly pulling her into his embrace: ”Sleep now!”

Perhaps due to the room’s silence, Qin Mu couldn’t quite process his sudden persistent gentleness for almost a minute.

However, after that minute, she gradually rested against his chest, sighed quietly, and then closed her eyes, leaning against him.

It was a long-missed feeling, her hand gently placed on his chest, which was still warm and solid as before, yet, just like initially, made her heart race, making it hard to sleep.

Mu Yichen, feeling Qin Mu against him, experienced an overdue sense of belonging, pulling Qin Mu closer.

He regretted it, regretting separating when she wanted to separate. How could he have forgotten that Mrs. Mu always, actually always, listened to his decisions?

At that moment, his eyes held a sense of longing, cherishing the embrace even more tightly.

Qin Mu felt she was being strangled, her facial expression a bit unnatural until he snapped out of it. Lowering his head, he saw Qin Mu’s suffocated expression and rarely smiled: ”Fool!”

Fool?

Qin Mu thought her ears must be malfunctioning, clearly, he’s the fool.

She suspected a young girl resided within Mr. Mu, a particularly naive (foolish) young girl.

That day’s nap seemed much better than those in recent times.

However, Qin Mu woke up after just over forty minutes, looked up, and saw his perfect sleeping face, playfully wrinkled her nose at him, then gently lifted his hand from her waist, quietly slipped out of bed, and left.

The first day of pregnancy was doomed to be a hungry one, yet she still had the kitchen prepare some soup, then drove herself to the hospital.

Wang Huanyu was about to leave; seeing her arrive, he breathed a sigh of relief, then stood up from the bedside: ”Why are you here again?”

”There’s nothing much these two days, so I come to accompany her often.”

Qin Mingzhu was already asleep, with their young son beside her.

”That works! I happen to need to go out for a bit, so I might return late tonight, thanks to you!”

Wang Huanyu nodded, speaking to Qin Mu.

The two quietly chatted a little, not wanting to disturb the rest of the new mother and little one. Qin Mu carried a food box: ”Had the house prepare something for you, I guess you haven’t eaten much today? Eat before you go!”

”I’m really hungry!”

Wang Huanyu said to her with polite embarrassment.

Qin Mu smiled slightly, then saw the little one on the bed lift his hand, seemingly waking, so she hurried over as Wang Huanyu went to the sofa to eat, having skipped breakfast to attend meetings and rushed to the hospital immediately after the noon meetings.

Before Wang Huanyu left, he mentioned that the maternity matron would return soon, and Qin Mu nodded, telling him to go.

Actually, Wang Huanyu was reluctant to leave. Although his mother was already on her way, Qin Mingzhu just gave birth, and as her husband, he genuinely wanted to stay by her side.

Originally, he had the chance, but was suddenly dispatched to Rongcheng, given such a heavy responsibility; with many watching him ready to pounce should he falter, ensuring he couldn’t stay in Rongcheng. Rongcheng was his wife’s hometown, and she relied on his job there. They hoped to settle there as a family; Wang Huanyu couldn’t afford any mishaps, so he had to continue with work.

——

Mu Yichen woke up and spiritedly went downstairs, changed into a blue shirt and light-striped pants. Just when he thought Qin Mu was downstairs sipping tea and watching TV, he realized the living room only had an elderly man, making him frown unhappily: ”Where’s Mrs. Mu?”
