His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1934: Chapter 555: Last Night You Nearly Took Half My Life

”The young master got up early and personally drove out to buy the ingredients. I glanced at them, and they’re all your favorites.”

The aunt’s voice wasn’t loud, but it was enough for her to hear.

”Auntie!”

Qin Mu called to her helplessly. She understood what the aunt meant and felt deeply touched by Mu Yichen’s actions for her, but she couldn’t bring herself to express her gratitude, feeling it would be insincere.

”Alright, I won’t say any more. Go eat! I’ll make room for you two!”

The aunt said a few more words to her before turning and leaving.

Qin Mu felt her heart race, perhaps because everyone made a point to let them be alone. She felt a bit uneasy, placing her hands behind her back as she shuffled over in simple slippers.

”You’re up! Come eat!”

Mu Yichen, setting the tableware, glanced up, seeing her standing at the entrance of the dining room, hesitating to come in, yet just said it as if it were a normal day.

”Okay!”

Qin Mu agreed and stepped forward to sit in her usual spot.

Mu Yichen sat next to her as usual, serving her soup and food, making sure everything was just right.

Qin Mu ate silently with her head down, not wanting to speak and fearing her words might ruin the atmosphere.

Mu Yichen wasn’t very hungry, yet his eyes kept being drawn to her flushed cheeks and her thick eyelashes, which captivated him.

”Do you have a headache?”

The dining room finally had some sound, his voice low and endearing.

”Yes, a little!”

Only then did Qin Mu lift her gaze slightly, but she didn’t look at him, just at the soup in her bowl.

Mu Yichen didn’t bother her, getting up and leaving for a moment.

Qin Mu thought he went to do something else, so she watched him as he went to the kitchen, not lowering her gaze until he came back out carrying a cup. Then she pretended to drink her soup seriously.

The vegetable soup he made was incredibly mild and soothing, perfect for someone after drinking.

”Drink this later!”

Mu Yichen said, placing the beautiful crystal cup in front of her.

”Okay!”

Qin Mu agreed, finished her bowl of soup, and then turned to look at him, noticing he hadn’t eaten much: ”Why didn’t you eat anything?”

”I was hungrier than you early on; I ate while cooking!”

Mu Yichen’s voice was still so calm and unhurried, but...

Qin Mu thought, I believed you prepared this especially for me!

Of course, it couldn’t be denied he did make it for her. The simple dishes on the table were all her favorites.

Actually, Mu Yichen had already drunk a cup of the concoction earlier. He couldn’t sleep because of his headache, and after seeing her fast asleep, he got up to buy groceries, cook, and have the aunt call her.

Mu Yichen suddenly remembered when they first got married. Although it was in the apartment, he could cook for her every day, and she’d happily say she must have burned good incense in a past life to find such a skilled chef as a husband.

He actually thought his wife must have saved the entire Milky Way Galaxy in a past life.

But now, she rarely said such things. Of course, he cooked less often, with little room for his skills at home. Rarely did he have such a perfect opportunity.

After dinner, Qin Mu drank the concoction, then lay on the table facing him. The two stared at each other, seemingly bored, but...

His hand gradually reached for Qin Mu’s hand on the table, gently creeping between her fingers to her palm, gripping her tightly.

Only then did Qin Mu’s eyes show any emotion, her hand supporting her head, suppressing her fluttering heart, while Mu teased her.

Right now, he seemed to really enjoy doing this.

”What are we doing this afternoon?”

Qin Mu asked him.

”Spending the afternoon with you!”

Mu Yichen replied.

Those eyes, no longer filled with resentment or silent endurance, only tenderness and indulgence remained.

Just last night.

Qin Mu suddenly felt her husband was truly easily satisfied; it seemed like he had so few desires when it came to her.

Most people hope their wives can do more, but Mu Yichen only hoped for her love or for her to just be by his side.

Qin Mu gradually grasped his hand too: ”How about we visit Mingzhu this afternoon? Then go pick up Huanhuan from school, okay?”

He didn’t plan to go to work; Qin Mu could tell.

”Okay!”

Mu Yichen agreed, surprisingly not objecting to going to the school.

Qin Mu couldn’t help but smile slightly: ”Why are you acting like a model student, being so obedient? It’s making me uncomfortable.”
