His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1928: Chapter 554: Overlooking

”I know!”

Mu Yichen’s enigmatic gaze carried a faint smile as he looked down at Qin Mu.

——

In the evening, neither of them went home; instead, they went to a certain club, without inviting anyone else.

After Qin Mu was brought into the private room, she obediently leaned against the sofa and waited.

The staff quickly brought in a variety of alcoholic drinks, and Qin Mu discreetly scanned the uneven heights of the bottles with sharp eyes.

Over the years, she had tasted all kinds of drinks, and among those placed on the table, she recognized almost every bottle. But tonight, was Mr. Mu planning to drink her to death?

Just a few bottles would be enough, yet he ordered so many...

Isn’t this a bit too much?

Mu Yichen lit a cigarette, standing behind the staff and watching as they placed the bottles on the table one by one. Half-squinting his eyes, he looked at her through the layers of smoke he exhaled.

After putting down the drinks, the staff turned to Mu Yichen: ”Boss, if you need anything, just call me anytime.”

”Leave!”

Mu Yichen took a drag from the cigarette between his fingers, and as he put it down, he said indifferently.

The staff left, and suddenly only the two of them were left in the private room.

Mu Yichen watched the big screen on the wall where Jacky Cheung’s ”Love Letter” was playing. As the music started, he picked up the microphone and walked over to Qin Mu: ”You know this song!”

Qin Mu looked up, her big dark eyes fixed on him, trying to figure out what he was up to.

Too unconventional, utterly illogical.

If he wanted to get her drunk, why sing? He should just start a drinking contest.

”I won’t sing!”

Qin Mu immediately protested, her straightforward words made Mu Yichen unconsciously frown, yet he sat down beside her.

”Then I’ll sing to you! Last time, when we were karaoke-ing with Jing Feng and the others, you wanted to hear me sing this song, right?”

In the dim light, Mu Yichen looked at her face.

Qin Mu didn’t speak, but her big eyes never left his, leaving her utterly bewildered.

What exactly did he bring her here for tonight?

Could it be she misunderstood?

Yet his current demeanor clearly suggested the typical big boss trying to seduce a woman.

Qin Mu decided to be passive and motionless, waiting for him to sing, as the screen had already started.

Seeing her gaze was now on the big screen, Mu Yichen also sunk into the sofa, one hand extending behind her to hold her shoulder, while the other hand held the microphone and began to sing the old song.

Actually, Jacky Cheung’s voice is particularly recognizable; how could anyone sing this song better than him?

But Mu Yichen, is an exception.

At least in Qin Mu’s heart, Mu Yichen’s singing sounded more moving, even though his voice carried defiance and an untamed anger.

Oh! Sadly love isn’t a few tears or love letters!

Oh! Such words might be cruel, but those waiting for others to bring happiness often don’t live very happily...

Qin Mu suddenly seemed to understand why he sang this song.

She was enamored with the Jacky Cheung in the song, yet he was singing his own heartfelt words.

So, this man has a really deep heart.

Is he singing for her? Yes! But he wasn’t calling her to enjoy, rather he was calling her to suffer.

Oh! Sadly, love leaves its mark, holding tears and love letters.

Oh! Sober wounds hurt more than being unconscious, tightly shut eyes and dragging mistakes, when true love comes, how will you keep it?

Listening made Qin Mu’s heart feel heavy, she leaned over to grab a bottle of liquor she wasn’t too familiar with, the bottle was beautiful, a type she liked.

She leaned back inside, nestled in his arm.

Mu Yichen’s eyes stared straight at her, making her flush before she even drank.

”You, in your fragility while drunk, cannot hide tear traces, I know despair is colder than winter, you hate being lonely, yet fall in love with a free, selfish soul.”

Qin Mu involuntarily downed a mouthful of liquor, and just as she was about to take a second, she heard someone scolding her for being selfish.

Trying not to care, she continued to drink, but Mu Yichen suddenly grabbed her drink, took a small sip, confirmed the taste was acceptable for her, and then returned it before continuing to sing.

”You carry the only love letter you ever wrote, trying to prove that love wasn’t blind back then. He once escaped decadence and pain for you and cried in your arms for reunion, oh, sadly love leaves its mark with tears and love letters, such words can be a bit cruel...”

His voice resounded throughout the private room, each line more resonant and forceful.

Qin Mu felt increasingly uncomfortable as she listened. Finally, she raised the bottle to her lips, gulping down its contents until she surprisingly finished it, then she put it down and grabbed another bottle, also taking the other microphone from the table.
