His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1927: Chapter 553: Does It Hurt Much? (3)

”Alright! Then you go ahead and work!”

Luo Li agreed, and then returned to the office.

Fan Qing went to work, but couldn’t help thinking about Zhang Hongyun. He wondered how that woman would get through the day, considering she probably wouldn’t cook for herself and would definitely order takeout.

Realizing he was becoming a bit of a worrier, Fan Qing shook his head helplessly and focused on work.

In the afternoon, Luo Li met with Qin Mu at a tea restaurant near Qin Mu’s studio. After chatting for a while inside, they went to the front of Qin Mu’s studio, where construction work had already started. Mu Yichen was building her a pavilion in the lake, where she could enjoy the shade during summer.

”Every time I come here, I don’t want to leave. As a designer, one should be in a place so serene and beautiful, the perfect setting for focused creativity. Oh, what’s happening over there?”

Qin Mu followed Luo Li’s gaze, and her eyes under the sunglasses sparkled with a beautiful light.

”I heard they’re building a long pavilion.”

Qin Mu replied.

”Oh? Is it being built by Mu Yichen? I heard he bought this place.”

”Yes! That’s indeed the case!”

Qin Mu agreed, suddenly breaking into a smile.

Luo Li was also wearing sunglasses, but it felt like they could still see each other’s eyes when they looked at one another.

”I really didn’t expect Mu Yichen to be so meticulous when it comes to you!”

Luo Li commented and sat down on a nearby white chair.

Qin Mu sat beside her, lightly resting her hand on the adjacent table.

The large sunshade quietly sheltered them from the sunlight, while the roadside green trees gently swayed in the wind. Initially, it sounded like a moderate rain was falling freely, but upon careful listening...

Whenever Qin Mu sat here, she could calm her mind, as the natural sounds surrounding her were too captivating, preventing her from daydreaming.

Everything before her was overwhelmingly beautiful. Sometimes, she could sit here all afternoon with a cup of coffee or flower tea and a book, especially on overcast days.

”By the way, I heard that your sister had her second child. Would it be too abrupt if I prepared a red envelope for her?”

Luo Li suddenly turned to ask her, removing her sunglasses as she finished speaking.

Qin Mu withdrew her gaze from the lake, slightly lowered her eyes, but only moved her mouth without looking at Luo Li.

”Given our relationship, there’s no need to send a red envelope!”

Qin Mu calmly and gracefully declined.

Now that Wang Huanyu was settling in Rongcheng, many people were eager to send gifts to their family. But this influx of gifting right after taking office would certainly get worse. Wang Huanyu firmly resisted this, and as the elder sister, Qin Mu certainly didn’t want to let anyone harm her brother-in-law at this time.

”If you say so, I won’t send it. But if there’s a chance, making friends is still necessary.”

Luo Li remarked, hoping Qin Mu would introduce Qin Mingzhu to her as a friend.

”That woman, Qin Mingzhu, can make you wish for less than death! She’s not as calm as I am, and the generation gap between you two...”

With sincerity, Qin Mu smiled and shook her head at her, implying she shouldn’t act impulsively.

Qin Mingzhu, with what she knows of her, would surely laugh if she knew Luo Li wanted to befriend her. No matter how well they got along superficially, Qin Mingzhu would ultimately dismiss her as ”Auntie.”

She’s not a slick socialite and has no intention of becoming one.

Thinking about it now, Qin Mu realized that Qin Mingzhu is such a genuine person.

After Luo Li left, Qin Mu remained seated there, gazing at the green mountains and waters before her.

A brown sports car slowly appeared from around the corner behind her and stopped.

Qin Mu didn’t turn back, but heard someone open and close the car door.

Someone stood behind her.

Qin Mu continued to look ahead, while the person behind her lowered his gaze to the back of her head, then shifted his focus to the same direction she was facing.

”Didn’t have any rest this afternoon?”

The moment he spoke, he revealed himself.

Qin Mu looked up at the peak of the mountains, her voice as clear as the lake in front of her: ”Hmm! Had afternoon tea with Luo Li! Is Mr. Mu free again today?”

Mu Yichen...

”Mr. Mu is completely preoccupied with thoughts of his wife, unable to focus on work, hence he’s here!”

Mu Yichen didn’t sit in the chair but squatted at her legs after adjusting his pants.

Qin Mu slightly lowered her gaze, overlooking the man staring at her.

In front of her, he could truly be high when he wished, yet humble enough to reach the dust.

”How about we pick Huanhuan up from school together today?”

”Not great!”

Mu Yichen frowned in opposition to Qin Mu’s suggestion.

”But if we don’t go, Huanhuan will be upset.”

Qin Mu gently told him.

Mu Yichen didn’t respond, instead he raised his hand to remove the oversized sunglasses from her nose.

Qin Mu squinted slightly, feeling a bit uncomfortable from the sudden light, but quickly looked at him with calm eyes.

”I assure you she won’t be upset, and she’ll be very happy.”

Mu Yichen sincerely promised her.

Indeed, that girl could be as carefree as she wanted in front of her grandparents, not particularly expecting them to pick her up.

Qin Mu thought for a moment, sighed helplessly, and looked forward again.

Now the sun wasn’t quite scorching, but still commanded respect.

Mu Yichen glanced at the blue coat she was wearing and slowly stood up.

”How about drinks tonight?”

Mu Yichen suggested while gazing at the mountains and lake.

Qin Mu’s eyes flickered slightly, it wasn’t dinner but drinks!

If she drank too much...

”Sure!”

Qin Mu calmly agreed, but added, ”Let’s eat something first though!”

”What do you want to eat?”

Mu Yichen’s dark eyes looked at her, penetrating straight into hers.

”Don’t you know my tastes by now?”

This time, Qin Mu looked up at him without any urgency in her gaze, yet enigmatic.

In the beautiful scenery of mountains and lakes, they seemed so small, yet invoked infinite imagination.

Mu Yichen’s lips moved slightly: ”I do!”
