His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1940: Chapter 557: Chen Goes to the Beauty Salon

After Mu Yichen hung up the phone, there was a burst of laughter in the car.

”I really didn’t expect our Brother Chen to be so playful! Even going to a beauty salon!”

Qiao Yi teased from the back, thinking to himself that he couldn’t be reached from behind.

”Call Xi Meng, Xi Meng knows the beauty salon my mom frequently visits!”

Mu Yichen was used to them teasing him, so he wasn’t in a hurry. He thought, as long as he had his wife to pamper, they could say whatever they wanted; as for him, he was happy.

Qiao Yi didn’t expect that in the end, he still had to trouble his own wife, and Brother Chen only did it for his own happiness, not for work, which made him reluctant: ”Your current secretary is Yang Qin.”

”You’ve both seemed to forget that Xi Meng is just on maternity leave, or is it that you’re hoping I express your thoughts to Xi Meng now?”

Mu Yichen saw Zhao Huai and Qiao Yi’s smug expressions and reminded them, then looked at the men in the back from the rearview mirror and asked a question.

”Oh crap, absolutely not! I’ll call! I’ll call, alright?!”

Qiao Yi was immediately scared out of his wits and called Xi Meng.

After all, he didn’t dare tell his wife that he didn’t plan for her to be Mu Yichen’s secretary anymore, wanting her to stay home and be the young mistress peacefully.

By the end of the year, Qiao Yi also had to return home and join the family business. He had his own plans, but Xi Meng had gotten used to working with Mu Yichen over the years and didn’t want to go with him and face gossip.

Although Xi Meng said she just preferred some distance between them as a couple, because distance creates beauty.

——

After lunch, Mu Yichen drove to the beauty salon, and the result was...

”You, I’m not talking about this Mrs. Mu!”

Mu Yichen stood at the door of Feng Fanghua’s beauty room, looking at the woman having a facial treatment, and spoke to the attendant.

”You little brat, you’re looking for your wife, aren’t you? She’s taking a nap at home, afraid you’d come over, so she didn’t accompany me.”

Feng Fanghua’s voice was a bit strange because she had something on her face.

Mu Yichen rubbed his brow with his hand, feeling a bit frustrated, stuck his hands in his pockets, and walked out with his head down.

The attendant quickly closed the door for Feng Fanghua, and she cursed inside, ”You brat, got a wife and forgot your mom.”

”Mrs. Mu, there have been rumors online recently that Young Master Chen is divorcing your daughter-in-law. Looks like it’s all fake!”

The beautician stood up, pressing her shoulders while asking.

”Divorce? My son would never divorce my daughter-in-law in this lifetime.”

Feng Fanghua sighed, thinking of how Qin Mu was so bad-tempered, yet her son always treated her like a treasure, which made her a bit angry.

”Looks like everyone was happy for nothing!”

The beautician said.

”Happy?”

”Yes! You don’t know how many women are lining up outside wanting to be your daughter-in-law. Speaking of the mayor’s daughter, she doesn’t know how lucky she is, being cherished by Young Master Chen.”

”She was a young lady herself, and compared to our family, it’s our family that’s climbing high towards her. It’s just that this girl had a rough life since childhood, that’s true. I don’t care what others say, but you’re my beautician, so you can’t say indecent things.”

Feng Fanghua spoke more seriously.

”Don’t worry, I know what’s appropriate to say and what’s not.”

The beautician was diligent, and most importantly, she wouldn’t ruin her job just for a moment’s relief through words.

——

Qin Mu was sleeping in bed, dreaming. In her dream, she was on top of Mu Yichen, tying him up, arrogantly looking down at him as she dealt with him.

Suddenly, she felt a weight behind her, unable to tell whether it was a dream or reality until she felt her body trapped, and she groggily woke up.

Turning her head, in her blurred vision, was a familiar face. Instinctively, she wanted to sit up, but as she did so, she bumped heads with Mu Yichen: ”Ah!”

”You! When did you come back?”

”Weren’t you going to the beauty salon?”

Qin Mu realized she wasn’t dreaming, that he had indeed come back, and it woke her up instantly.

Unexpectedly, Mu Yichen asked her back.

”The beauty salon? I was going to go!”

Going tough wasn’t an option with Mu Yichen, so Qin Mu instinctively softened her approach, her voice lowering to sound like a wronged wife.

”Humph! Then why didn’t you go afterward?”

Thinking of going to find Mrs. Mu but finding his own mom instead, luckily there were others inside; otherwise, if he’d lunged forward, just the thought of it seemed like he’d be struck by lightning.

”If I had gone, you wouldn’t be there...”

Qin Mu looked up at him and then shyly lowered her head.
