His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1690: Chapter 471: The Beginning and the End (17)_3

He thought he wouldn’t be able to speak, but after he did, he lowered his eyes and gently gazed into her tender apricot eyes. In her eyes, he appeared emotionless.

No wonder she looked so weary.

”Get some more sleep!”

Mu Yichen said, then got back into bed.

Qin Mu sat there dazed, looking at him.

At this time, the elders were all up, and they should be going to pay New Year’s respects.

”Come here!”

Mu Yichen raised his hand to pull her by the wrist, gently tugging her to lie slowly in his arms.

On New Year’s Day, she was nestled in his arms, and for the rest of the year, it would surely be the same.

No passionate kisses, no intimacy; he just held her, lulling her back to sleep.

But two hours later, when Qin Mu opened her eyes again, it was because he had disturbed her.

She always thought they had both gone back to sleep, but then she suddenly felt she overthought it; he didn’t sleep, just let her take another nap.

Because...

”Well-rested? Now it’s my turn!”

He lightly kissed the edge of her ear, his deep voice stirring her heart.

Qin Mu was so consumed by the kisses that she became unfocused, time slipping away unnoticed due to his skill.

When the two finally left that bed, it was already unclear if it was eight o’clock.

The elders had long finished breakfast, watching TV, sipping tea, and chatting, and some of the younger ones had already arrived early to pay their respects.

Gongzhi Ping’an, who hadn’t shown up for a while, was sitting on their sofa with his wife, easily making the elders laugh heartily with just a few words.

It wasn’t until he saw Qin Mu and Mu Yichen coming downstairs that Gongzhi Ping’an’s expression involuntarily tamed a bit; he hadn’t seen the couple, Qin Mu, in a long time.

For these past few years, he was sent away on assignments, only recently managing to move back.

”Who is this?”

Mu Yichen, having just finished his business and in a good mood, walked up and circled around behind him, looking as if he had mistaken someone, he smiled teasingly while staring at Gongzhi Ping’an’s face and asked.

”Brother, it’s not right that you don’t recognize me just after a few years!”

These years, he hadn’t even come home for New Year, and the reason was simple; his dad wanted him to persevere a few years, perform well, then be promoted, skipping over several ranks immediately.

”Gongzhi Ping’an? How did you change like this?”

Qin Mu sat by her mother-in-law, looking at Gongzhi Ping’an. She remembered their last meeting years ago, when he was still a handsome young man, but now, his skin lacked elasticity and had become quite tanned.

”You have no idea what kind of days I’ve had these years!”

Gongzhi Ping’an sighed, looking like he couldn’t explain in a few words.

”Your dad did it all for your good; you were so mischievous as a child. Later, your father feared you’d cause trouble in the city, so he had you work at the bureau, transfer you to temper you. I heard you got promoted three ranks up upon returning, right?”

Mu Zihao asked him.

”That was true, but I’d rather not be promoted than stay in that godforsaken place for so long.”

So much missed!

Qin Mu always felt he was as cheeky as ever, but she found the greatest benefit of being with such people was never being unhappy.

Mu Yichen sat next to him: ”Lunch at the usual place! Don’t be late!”

”Got it! I’ll be there on time, no, I’ll arrive early!”

He had to give his brothers a surprise. It had been too long, only returned yesterday; he had to be early to wait and give everyone a big surprise.

On the first day of the Lunar New Year, Qin Mu spent the whole day with Mu Yichen visiting family for New Year, and except at noon when Qin Mu had lunch with the staff from the store, Mu Yichen went to dine with his brothers. By the evening, Qin Mu’s legs felt like breaking.

Wearing high heels all day, continuously walking, it was very exhausting.

But she didn’t care much about that. What she cared about was Mu Yichen’s reaction once she says she wants to go to Paris.

At night when they got home, Feng Fanghua took out and placed Huanhuan and Chengcheng’s red envelopes on the table. Looking at that thick stack, Qin Mu thought of the ones their family gave out and instantly felt it was all worth it.

After all, their family had two precious ones.

”You two set these aside for the siblings, but as always, you can’t touch them!”
