His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1656: Chapter 462: The Beginning and End (8)_2

Mu Yichen looked at her instinctively, then lowered his head to continue eating.

For some reason, he suddenly felt extremely hungry.

It must be because she stole the covers again last night, so he got so cold that he caught a fever. A grown man getting fevers all the time, he even despised himself for it.

Meanwhile, the wind and snow outside started up once more.

After lunch, Qin Mu went to the study and called Feng Fanghua: ”Mom, shouldn’t you come back earlier? I’m afraid the snow will get thicker.”

”If it gets thick, we won’t come back. Watching you two cold war at home is annoying! We’re at the pharma factory, don’t worry, bye!”

Feng Fanghua didn’t seem keen to chat, and hung up after a few words.

Qin Mu stared at her phone dumbfounded; Feng Fanghua was straightforward to the point it made her seem cute.

With a helpless chuckle, she thought, haven’t you and Dad ever had a cold war? Yet we always dutifully return home for meals.

But her heart felt full; this home is so warm that even a cold war can’t make it lonely.

Luckily Grandpa is still around, but at this moment, the grandson and grandfather were playing chess. Qin Mu settled into the chair and decided it was better to read a novel.

Surprisingly, before the New Year arrives, she can’t draw a single design.

Her mind was blank, thinking about Jian Yan and Mu Yichen every day. One night, she dreamt Mu Yichen stabbed Jian Yan to death, and she was scared, afraid the dream would come true.

Some dreams just reflect the dreamer’s inner fears.

Qin Mu hoped it was just a stupid dream!

Mu Yichen played chess with Grandpa downstairs for a bit; his head hurt even more.

Grandpa stood by the glass window looking at the snow outside; the ground was already white, and it looked soft, causing him to let out a chuckle unconsciously.

Mu Yichen lay on the sofa with one hand over his forehead, glanced at Grandpa, and asked, ”What’s making you so happy?”

His voice was hoarse, and Grandpa turned his head, walking slowly towards the sofa.

”There’s lots of snow this year; a fertile snow means a prosperous year, so of course, I’m happy.”

Grandpa sat down and raised his eyes to look at his grandson, his smile fading into a gentle sigh.

”And what’s making you sigh?”

Mu Yichen still had his forehead half-covered, asking indifferently.

”What else? You two have been at it for days. Last time, the cold war was between Paris and Rongcheng, lasting half a year with such distance. Are you planning for a half-year cold war at home this time? I reckon, if this keeps up, you’ll soon be sleeping in separate rooms!”

Grandpa kindly reminded him.

”Heh! Absolutely impossible!”

Mu Yichen gave a small chuckle, filled with confidence.

”Your parents used to be just like you and Mumu; your dad said absolutely not, but didn’t he end up being sent to sleep on the sofa by your mom.”

Grandpa recalled the times Mu Zihao and Feng Fanghua came around. Feng Fanghua was always energetic, speaking and acting decisively; he saw Mu Zihao kicked out of the room by her with his own eyes.

Of course, back then, he would watch the fun. Since he had nothing else to do, watching the couple argue was nice, but now, he didn’t want to see his grandson and granddaughter-in-law do the same.

Mu Yichen never imagined his parents had moments like that, but Mu Zihao always pampered Feng Fanghua, hence being kicked out. As for him and Qin Mu — if Qin Mu tried to kick him out, he’d just open the door and come back in.

If Mrs. Mu were truly heartless, she wouldn’t have let him hold her while sleeping this morning.

Mrs. Mu can’t escape his grasp.

That night, indeed the couple didn’t bring their kids back, because the snow outside was already five centimeters thick in the flat areas.

Qin Mingzhu and Wang Huanyu were stuck in Rongcheng and couldn’t return to Beijing, and the leader couldn’t enjoy his daughter’s company either, always having to work overtime during heavy snow.

Some things he didn’t need to do personally, but he was used to overseeing everything himself.

Qin Mingzhu messaged Qin Mu: ”Hope the snow melts tomorrow!”

Qin Mu: ”Not likely!”

Qin Mingzhu: ”Don’t jinx it!”

Qin Mu: ”Didn’t you check the weather forecast? There’ll be light to moderate snow tomorrow, and the temperature will continue to drop, so be ready to celebrate New Year here with Dad!”

Qin Mingzhu: ”What about my son?”

Qin Mu: ”You only care about your son and not your father?”

Qin Mingzhu: ”...”

Qin Mu was bored, which led her to bicker with Qin Mingzhu on WeChat. After dinner, Grandpa kept her in the living room watching TV with him; she was bored, glanced at her phone, saw Qin Mingzhu’s message, and decided to kill some time chatting back.
