His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1675: Chapter 467: The Beginning and the End (13)_3

”Our son-in-law’s temperament is really quite poor, but he truly loves our daughter, so should we give them a bit more time?”

There was a slight tremor in his deep voice, and he smiled softly, saying such words only to the woman on the tombstone.

He believed in Mu Yichen’s love for Qin Mu, but at the same time, he was also afraid. He feared that a man like Mu Yichen could not withstand the torment of delicate emotions and might suddenly give up on his daughter.

It wasn’t because of fame, fortune, or the honor Mu Yichen brought him; it was just that he genuinely wanted his daughter to be happy.

If the long-standing relationship between Mu Yichen and Qin Mu ended just like that, it would indeed be a pity.

Qin Mu returned to the city without waiting for Qin Haiming, but she didn’t go home.

She felt a bit afraid to face the elders, so after messaging Xiao Wei, she went to the shop.

Today, the shop was busier than usual.

Qin Mu couldn’t understand why people waited until the day before the New Year to come out and choose their clothes. Was it because of their shopping desires that those who had already bought new clothes continued to indulge in the joy of shopping during this special holiday?

And now, what could she do to find joy in her heart?

She went to the mall, swiped her card N times, bought over twenty pieces of children’s clothing, then continued to swipe her card at the men’s section, moved on to the jewelry section, and the various luxury sections, fine bags, and fine watches. She didn’t feel happy or unhappy; she was even numb, but the feeling of swiping the card was still satisfying.

The big and small packages she bought for Qin Haiming numbered no less than a dozen, from clothes to watches, to shoes and socks, all delivered to the Qin Family by the store clerks, and also bought gifts for Uncle Wang and Auntie, all sent along.

As for the Mu Family’s things, those that could be fit into the car were put in, and those that couldn’t were sent home by staff.

At noon, she didn’t meet up with friends. She ordered a simple lunch at the restaurant above the mall and ate quickly.

The low murmur of laughter and happy conversation around her successfully surrounded her.

However, she didn’t feel lonely; she seemed truly numb, unable to perceive anything, just mechanically doing what needed to be done during this particular time.

After lunch, she went to buy some more gifts, for Mu Yichen, for Xiao Wei, for Helian Hao, and for Xiaomei and An Nan, and also for Xi Meng.

She hadn’t gone home yet; the large and small packages she bought were already delivered to her home by the store clerks.

Feng Fanghua stood by the sofa, watching a large number of store clerks lined up, carrying items into their large living room, and her brow furrowed unconsciously.

”Did Qin Mu buy all of these?”

”Yes! All of these were purchased by your daughter-in-law and sent to your home.”

Because Qin Mu had previously booked a counter in the mall, many staff knew her and also knew Feng Fanghua, so they all respectfully followed the money god’s words and sent the items back.

Feng Fanghua looked at the floor, now full, and felt annoyed unconsciously, not knowing what was wrong with Qin Mu. In her memory, Qin Mu had never done anything like this.

Their family didn’t care about money; what puzzled her was the reason behind Qin Mu’s shopping spree.

After everyone left, Feng Fanghua bent down to pick up an exquisite box on the coffee table, opened it, and found a precious gemstone inside. As soon as it was opened, it caught her eye, yet her heart also fluttered.

”Give me my phone!”

Feng Fanghua suddenly murmured, instructing the dazzled auntie beside her.

The aunt turned and handed her the phone from the sofa, and Feng Fanghua immediately dialed Qin Mu’s number.

Qin Mu was still in the cafe, drinking coffee. It was the first time in so many years that she went out to shop aimlessly and then eat, drink, wander, and stop all by herself.

”Hello? Mom, have all the things been delivered home?”

After answering the call from Feng Fanghua, Qin Mu was the first to ask her.

”What’s gotten into you? Buying so many things, including a gemstone?”

”That’s not an ordinary gemstone; I spent a lot buying a collection piece from their counter as a New Year gift for you.”

Qin Mu said cheerfully.

Hearing Qin Mu say it was a gift for her made Feng Fanghua’s heart move, but she was still very puzzled.

”What’s really going on with you? Suddenly buying so many things and bringing them back?”

”I’ve been busy making money all day and haven’t spent it, so I’m using the New Year, just happened to have nothing to do, to buy a little something for everyone. If you want to buy anything else, just let me know. When I finish this cup of coffee, I’ll go shopping again and can buy it for you too!”
