His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1665: Chapter 465: The Whole Story (11)

The elders listened to Mu Yichen’s instructions to the household staff and continued eating their porridge as if nothing happened, though they felt reassured inside.

Qin Mu wanted to refuse his kindness—she could drink the porridge once it cooled a bit—but considering the elders might worry, she kept quiet and only thanked the aunt when she brought her a cup of hot milk.

”Yichen! When do you plan to deliver New Year gifts to your father-in-law? It’s better to go sooner rather than later, when he has some free time!”

The old man finally looked up while almost finishing his breakfast and reminded Mu Yichen in a gentle tone.

”What do you say about this matter?”

Mu Yichen suddenly turned to look at Qin Mu after hearing the question. Qin Mu, holding her milk cup, didn’t remain silent upon his inquiry. She just lifted her eyelids and then calmly said to him, ”Why not give him a call to ask?”

Qin Mu wasn’t in a rush, as they had just visited a couple of days ago for a meal, and Qin Mingzhu was still there. She thought going closer to the New Year wouldn’t be too late.

”Hmm, discussing with your dad first is a good idea; he must be quite busy recently!”

Mu Zihao nodded to Qin Mu.

”Sure!”

Qin Mu obediently agreed without saying more.

But Mu Yichen couldn’t help but look at her for a long time—an unfathomable gaze that made Qin Mu feel a thud in her heart when she glanced elsewhere.

The weather was nice this morning, so Mu Yichen asked Jing Feng to join him for a game of tennis.

Qin Mu stayed home accompanying the elders and taking care of the kids; actually, the kids didn’t need much looking after. With a spacious house and plenty of play areas, they often didn’t appear in the living room all morning, and the nannies took good care of them.

It was just the elders who were a bit difficult to accompany.

”I really can’t figure it out; it’s been quite some time, what’s wrong between you two that you can’t share even a word with us?”

Feng Fanghua ignored the objections of the old man and Mu Zihao, insisting on voicing her thoughts.

Qin Mu looked at her briefly, lowered her head a bit in slight tension, but soon calmed down.

”Jian Yan! Because of Jian Yan!”

Qin Mu suddenly mentioned this name.

All three looked at her simultaneously, utterly surprised.

”Or perhaps not solely because of Jian Yan, but because Mu Yichen has always doubted my relationship with Jian Yan. Jian Yan suddenly disappeared from Paris, and I’m very worried due to his poor health. Mu Yichen is afraid I’d go to Paris to find Jian Yan, so we haven’t been able to communicate well lately.”

Summing it up, it took just a few sentences to explain.

The three elders were at a loss; they never imagined it was because of this.

”This morning, I already asked major media outlets to help publish a headline. I hope to find Jian Yan! In a few minutes, you might see the news on your phones and TVs.”

Qin Mu continued to explain, deciding to reveal everything since the topic had begun.

”What? What’s reported?”

Feng Fanghua was taken aback, feeling as though her heart had been fiercely struck upon hearing that Qin Mu had made the news so public.

”Jian Yan’s girlfriend is due to give birth after the New Year. If he doesn’t appear, he’ll miss the birth of his own child.”

Qin Mu patiently explained to Feng Fanghua.

”What? He has a girlfriend?”

Feng Fanghua was almost amused upon hearing this, though she restrained herself, her shock overpowering her surprise as she questioned Qin Mu.

”Hmm!”

Qin Mu nodded.

There was much about Xiao Wei’s incompatibility with Jian Yan that an outsider like her shouldn’t say, but Qin Mu thought, Jian Yan couldn’t escape now. Xiao Wei’s dedication to him can’t be denied, even if he didn’t want to admit it.

Besides, Jian Yan would definitely find happiness!

”So, it’s necessary to find him quickly!”

Mu Zihao contemplated and said.

”Yes, women need a man by their side when giving birth.”

Feng Fanghua also agreed.

Qin Mu couldn’t help but observe this couple curiously, realizing that now, everyone in their family, except Mu Yichen, had their hearts aligned. Only Mu Yichen was not following along.

”That boy is giving you the cold shoulder all this time just because of this?”

The old man asked Qin Mu in bewilderment.

Qin Mu didn’t respond, fearing to speak ill of Mu Yichen, worried that the old man might get angry and act like Grandpa from the Jing Family, picking up a cane to beat people.

”Call him, tell him to come back! I’ll ask him who taught him to be so petty!”

The old man lifted his gaze, issuing commands unhappily without looking at anyone.

Mu Zihao and Feng Fanghua looked at him, but no one made a call.
