Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1497: Chapter 24: Blitz (7)_3

”One thousand two hundred warriors?” Chen Fengxi’s face turned ashen instantly. He could not possibly have imagined how a small-scale operation behind enemy lines could result in such enormous casualties. That’s a whole regiment worth of combat units!

”They attacked two of our field hospitals, six hundred wounded and over two hundred medical staff, none survived.” Ann Lei’s heavy voice unveiled the mystery.

Immediately, she hesitated for a moment but eventually pulled up the frontline footage records on the SkyNet screen.

It was a scene straight out of hell. Two field hospitals had turned into charred graveyards. Corpses burned into bizarre shapes lay desolately and helplessly in the jungle. More than a dozen medical mechas were riddled with holes. Medical cabins, operating tables, and other medical equipment were scattered around. Several female nurses lay nearest to the lens, their bodies incomplete, only their long braided hair and torn clothes could attest to their identities.

The sight before them plunged the entire command center into a deathly silence.

The officers gritted their teeth audibly, their eyes filled with glaring bloodshot veins. They thought of the appearance of the Judger, of these Devils attacking supply lines, artillery positions, taking down front-line command posts, launching attacks on segments of the defensive line, disrupting the defensive deployments on the front.

But, in their wildest dreams, they never anticipated these people would attack field hospitals without a shred of humanity!

Field hospitals are usually not set up too close to the front lines but rather located near more convenient transportation routes in the rear areas. The fact that the Judger appeared here proved that they breached the defensive lines and roamed freely at the rear. The front trenches and the wings’ patrol guard units could not stop them at all.

They had many targets to choose from, why did they target the field hospitals?

This was definitely not a random event, not a result of some wounded soldier flipping off these damn Judgers. They simultaneously attacked two field hospitals, they had planned this massacre from the start!

”What about Stiller! What is the Special Forces Camp of the First Division doing?!” Margaret’s face was frighteningly pale, her lips nearly bitten to bleed.

”The Special Forces Camp has launched a full offensive!” Ann Lei took an e-file from a staff member beside her and handed it to Margaret, ”Currently, the forces have cleared the front lines of Suss’s offensive positions, essentially gaining control over battlefield information. Also destroyed one enemy ammunition depot, three material transfer warehouses, and knocked out over five hundred transport and electronic mechas altogether, killed eighteen enemy officers of school rank and above, and annihilated an armored company of enemy Armored Division 105.”

Ann Lei’s nonstop reporting left the present staff holding their breath.

”Retribution?” Margaret glanced at the intelligence, quickly saw through the undisguised fury of the Judgers who were robbed of the initiative by the order of attack.

Ann Lei nodded and said, ”I think so. Judging by Judgers’ behavioral habits, they find it hard to accept when a similar unit offers a challenge by a method akin to a slap in the face.”

”What reactions are there from the major offensive positions of Suss?” Margaret asked the question that everyone present was most concerned about.

”Inward contraction and outward expansion,” Ann Lei said, ”Communications and battlefield intelligence have been blocked, repeatedly encountering sneak attacks by our Special Forces Camp, now each major offensive position of Suss has contracted its defenses. The satellite troops deployed outside have withdrawn, and they have dispatched elite units en masse to conduct compressive cleansing around, attempting to regain initiative of information.”

Everyone gritted their teeth and exhaled. No matter what, at least Steller successfully forced Suss’s main forces to focus their attention nearby themselves. Clearly, before regaining battlefield control and eliminating worries behind, they wouldn’t launch large-scale attacks. The longer it drags on, the better it is for the Allies!

Margaret’s face revealed a hint of a cold smile.

”My usual principle is an eye for an eye,” she turned her head to Carl beside her and said, ”Tell Stiller that now he can act freely, attack any target that can be attacked, no need for prisoners.”

”Yes!”

Carl received the order, ready to turn but was called by the little kid biting on a milk tea straw.

”Big Head, by the way, tell Fatty the news.”

Under the rather dazed watch of the Fei Alliance officers in the room, the little boy slurped up the milk tea, threw the empty cup into the trash can casually, and said calmly, ”Daring to target our hospital, they kill one of us, we kill ten of them. The bandit army never does unprofitable business!”

Watching Carl walk towards the SkyNet Control Console, the command hall fell silent.

The officers didn’t know how to express their feelings. Whether they were shocked by the bandit army’s brutality, or disapproved of this eye for an eye approach. Or perhaps, it was a kind of satisfaction like a suppressed volcano erupting from the heart!

Beep beep, a series of crisp electronic sounds awakened everyone.

Chen Fengxi and others turned to look, the large electronic sand table, the stalled red arrow started moving again.

This time, the arrow suddenly grew thicker and bolder, swiftly piercing through the First Battle Zone, pausing slightly, then amid everyone’s intense heartbeats, it pierced through the Second Battle Zone!
