Chapter 1462: Chapter 8: Entering the Battlefield (Part 2)

Only their logistics mechas and a guard battalion, escorting their command mecha, stopped at a small hilltop.

”No matter what,” Benarlio looked at Robert, who was holding a long-range viewer on the command mecha platform on the hilltop, and sighed, ”at least their courage is worthy of our admiration. Mueller, gather your battalion and move to the left flank of Hill 323. If the bandit army retreats, make sure to avoid letting the position be overrun by the enemy.”

”Yes!” First Battalion Commander Mueller saluted, quickly jumped out of the trench, and ran towards the concealed command post.

A few minutes later, the distant sound of fierce gunfire and explosions could be faintly heard. The sound persisted, beyond the horizon, very faint. Benarlio looked at the small hilltop where Robert was standing, for a long time, he turned and waved to the officers beside him: ”Let’s go. Hopefully, they can at least cause some trouble for the Jiepeng people.”

The officers successively walked down the trench, trudging through the muddy bottom towards the command headquarters. Inside and outside the trench, soldiers were gathered together, poking their heads to look into the distance, chatting vigorously.

After a few bends through the trench, the officers had just returned the salute to the sentry responsible for guarding the command post, preparing to enter the underground command center constructed of metal bulletproof walls and rapid blast-resistant concrete, when, unexpectedly, the pneumatic automatic door just opened, Benarlio, who was at the front, was bumped into by a figure rushing out of the room.

”Mueller, what happened?” Supported by someone, Benarlio saw who had bumped into him. He suddenly propped against the wall, steadied himself, and asked urgently.

”General, the bandit army...” Mueller’s square face was flushed crimson.

”What about the bandit army?” Benarlio’s heart sank. He quickly glanced at his watch; it had been less than thirty minutes since the bandit army launched an attack.

”The bandit army has captured the Jiepeng people’s operational position, and the Jiepeng 1912 Division Second Armored Group has been completely annihilated!” Mueller’s voice trembled with excitement: ”Hill 244, also, was successfully sneak-attacked by one of their armored companies from the flank. Now, the bandit army is already advancing west along the Quiro Agricultural Area highway!”

”What?” Benarlio’s eyes were as wide as two light bulbs. Coming to his senses, he quickly pushed Mueller aside and rushed into the command room.

The SkyNet screen in the command room, receiving simultaneous transmissions from the Reconnaissance Soldiers of the First Battalion and the position observers of the 1861 Mechanical Infantry, confirmed Mueller’s words.

The operational position of the Jiepeng 1912 Division at this moment was already a scene of devastation. Countless mecha remains and soldier corpses lay sprawled and scattered on the scorched, smoking ground. The artillery fire extended into the distance, and the dense bandit armored troops, like a tidal wave, surged forward along the highway beside Hill 244.

Real-time reports showed that the Jiepeng armored forces spread across the ten-kilometer-wide front were collapsing under the interlaced assault of the bandit army’s vanguard force, composed of four armored battalions. Many Jiepeng forces didn’t even have time to react! On SkyNet, the blue dots representing the Jiepeng forces were already in disarray, retreating continuously.

”How did they accomplish this?” A staff officer blurted out, voicing the query in all the officers’ minds.

”Forced advance,” Mueller instinctively answered the question while his eyes on the screen were unfocused, seemingly still immersed in the shock of witnessing the bandit army’s attack: ”.... They plowed through like a bulldozer. The Jiepeng people’s resistance only lasted twenty minutes before completely collapsing.”

He turned his head, locking eyes with the group of officers. It took him a long while to swallow a gulp of saliva with difficulty: ”..... It was simply a massacre.”

The battered [Logic] quickly leaped back and forth on several rocky cliffs, ascending to a small peak.

Behind, five hundred devil-like mechas dashed up the sunny slope like meteors, howling upwards in a neat formation, maintaining order even in the high-speed rush through the undulating terrain.

”Pipi,” outside the transparent cockpit cover, the view suddenly widened, and Fatty switched the communication channel: ”Is SkyNet fixed yet?”

”Not yet,” the voice of the little kid came through the headphones: ”This damn SkyNet was destroyed too thoroughly. The central computer is an idiot. I need some time to help it reconstruct its sensory system.”

Fatty imagined the little kid’s smug face in front of the central computer and couldn’t help but feel a headache. He glanced at the screen and said, ”Once SkyNet is fixed, inform Maggie that she can reveal her hand.”

”Understood!” responded the little kid.

Ending the communication, Fatty activated the mecha’s simulation system, carefully examining the battle situation map.

On the front line of Frenso Town, the First Division led by Rashid had driven the Jiepeng people to the outskirts of Frenso Town, and the four surrounding Chuckna Armored Groups and two Mechanical Infantry Groups, continuously resisting the enemy, had moved behind the First Division as the front line advanced, controlling the highways around Frenso Town.

Along the 130 defense segment, Robert and Stewart led the Second Armored Division, forcibly advancing and directly crushing the Jiepeng 1912 Armored Division.

This battle was nothing noteworthy. The Jiepeng 1912 Armored Division, as the attacker, was initially careless about defense, and it was no surprise that they suffered losses without understanding the bandit army. Moreover, with Robert personally commanding, it should be known that Robert is a master at pre-battle deployment and controlling the tempo of combat attacks.

Commanding the Second Division to frontally assault an ordinary Jiepeng Armored Division, all he needed to consider was how to achieve the greatest victory at the fastest speed and lowest cost.

So far, the bandit army had introduced itself in front of the Leifeng Star Army. It is believed that such a result is enough to establish the basic trust of the Leifeng Star Army in the bandit army.

Next... Fatty’s gaze wandered over the Sunset Mountain Satellite City, two hundred and twenty kilometers north of Frenso Town.

Bellif played a good strategy. If the Fei Alliance does not deploy troops to Frenso Town, he would forcefully open the passage and break through in-depth to encircle and open up the defense line. If the Fei Alliance dispatches troops, he would allocate part of the forces for support, forming a tug-of-war in Frenso Town, while concentrating heavy forces to initiate attacks elsewhere.

To accomplish such a strategic plan, his main force would not be more than three hundred kilometers from Frenso Town! The seemingly impregnable Sunset Mountain is a very suitable choice.

It’s time to give the overbearing Bellif a direct blow! The fierce gunfire and explosions echoed from the outskirts of Frenso Town not far ahead.

Standing on the mountaintop, Fatty raised [Logic]’s mechanical arm high and suddenly waved it forward.

Three hundred [Rampage] mechas swept past Logic, leaping down the mountainside like a tide. These black devils howled, darting like the wind through the forests. After a few leaps, the orderly teams split into ten groups, dispersing in all directions, vanishing into the rolling hills and boundless forests.

Fatty watched quietly. A gust of wind blew over the mountaintop, and the dust filled the air, seemingly enveloping the enormous war zone covering thousands of square kilometers.

The Western Alliance may have the metallic-headed Judgers, but the bandit army has the War God Rampage! This time, with five hundred Rampage mechas, the entire battlefield would be blanketed! Turn Bellif into a deaf and blind man. Cause the Western Alliance’s main force to completely collapse under the indiscriminate assaults of Rampage!

”General, what are we going to do?” Hagrove’s voice came through the communication channel. Having been equipped with the Twelfth Generation Rampage for a while, yet without the opportunity for rampage on the battlefield, this War God was itching for action.

”Follow me,” Fatty’s lips curled into a mischievous smile: ”I heard Stewart and Rashid made a bet, but now the wager is ours. Let them go cry.”

Logic leaped down the hill. Behind, a chorus of excited hoots erupted.
