Chapter 1487: Chapter 9-19: Blitzkrieg (Part 2)

”Enemy attack!”

”Scatter, scatter!”

”Fire squad, suppress the left flank, don’t let them charge up!”

”God! They’re too fast!”

”Help me, save me!”

”Damn it, don’t stop, hold the line, everyone hold the line!”

”Commander, we can’t hold them!”

”Boom!”

Intense flashes rapidly spread through the chaotic mecha group. Rubble and mud were blasted skywards, raining down like a storm, leaving only soaring dust and thick black smoke enveloping the air, blocking out the sun. The explosion shook the forests violently. Roars, screams, and cries echoed incessantly.

The energy cannon light interweaved. Among the jumbled and fallen forests, Western Alliance Mechas swarmed around like disturbed hornets.

And in front of them, to the left and right, countless Feiyang Mechas charged ferociously.

This was a scene that shattered the soul.

From afar, Feiyang Mechas, freshly appearing over the horizon, surged down the slopes like a beastly flood. Wherever the eye could see, there was only this surging steel tide. Up close, hundreds and thousands of mechas had already rushed into the Western Alliance Armored Group, unleashing slaughter.

Defeat was inevitable from the first moment of battle.

Completely unprepared for the appearance of the Fei Alliance’s large forces west of Frenso Town, the Western Alliance forces continued their rapid march towards the Dorai River under Commander Forbes’ orders. Although they encountered near-mad harassment from small Fei Alliance armored forces along the way, they felt no worry or fear.

In their view, the more frequent the Feiyang people’s harassment, the more it showed their insecurity. They wanted to delay them on the road to buy time for their forces in Frenso!

Time is everything.

Clearly, as long as they could reach Frenso Town early, no matter what plans the Feiyang people had, they would fail.

As the vanguard forces, the 1st and 2nd Groups of the 81st Division advanced side by side. The officers constantly urged the soldiers to speed up, through the silent forest and empty roads, just the heavy and dense footsteps of mechas, just the engine noise elevated to a nearly shrieking roar.

When the forces were within five kilometers of the Dorai River, everyone thought victory was in sight.

The clear and gentle Dorai River was the mark west of Frenso Town. Crossing this river meant entering Frenso Town’s West District!

But no one anticipated that at this moment, they would head-on collide with the Fei Alliance Armored Group.

This was neither a pocket ambush trap nor small-scale contact escalating into conflict. It was an outright encounter battle without the SkyNet.

The Western Alliance Soldiers saw, an overwhelming Fei Alliance Armored Group advancing at high speed, ignoring everything, with their vanguard like sharp swords thrusting rapidly towards them.

From the moment of collision to the complete collapse of the troops took only a few minutes.

Under the impact of the Feiyang Armored Group, the group at the forefront just seized the high ground on both sides of the road, had just organized their defensive formation, and was overrun.

No one could withstand the slaughter of hundreds and thousands of Level 9 Mecha Warriors.

Those Fatty Mechas with their naive smiles were like hungry wolves charging into a flock of sheep, tearing and biting with claws and fangs, spilling blood everywhere.

Chaos spread backward into the 2nd Group.

With the 1st Group clearing the path, the 2nd Group followed closely behind, entirely unprepared for the sudden enemy appearance. When the news of the 1st Group’s attack reached them, they already saw the Feiyang Mechas piercing the 1st Group’s formation like knives.

The battle quickly turned one-sided. The disorganized Western Alliance Armored Forces could only fight separately. In chaos, they often faced enemies whose numbers were several times their own.

This asymmetrical combat typically took only a few minutes for a unit to rapidly collapse. Like a flood, once a section of a levee breaks, the entire defensive line collapses; all resistance in the engulfing torrent is just hopeless futile.

In less than ten minutes, the two groups of the vanguard 81st Division were devoured. The group command post was destroyed, the group leader killed, base officers slain, formations segmented, will shattered, and what remained were scattered wrecks and mountains of surrendering soldiers raising their hands.

The attack was not just on the 81st Division’s vanguard two groups.

If at this time a warplane could fly low from east to west, it would see among the rolling mountains, dozens of Feiyang Armored Groups launching attacks like sharks sensing the smell of blood.

kilometers south of the 81st Division’s 1st and 2nd Groups, two regiments of the Suss 92 Division were cut off by two Bandit Army Armored Camps, swiftly falling into the encirclement of the surrounding Chuckna Armored Forces.

kilometers southwest, the 3rd Group of the 81st Division was intercepted and killed by two Bandit Army Armored Companies.

kilometers northwest, one regiment of the 106th Division was intercepted and killed by a Bandit Army Armored Camp and a Feiyang Armored Group.

kilometers southwest, one regiment of the 145th Division and one regiment of the 106th Division were intercepted and killed by an entire Bandit Army Armored Group and the Second Armored Division of the Feiyang 33rd Army...

An hour later, the Fei Alliance Armored Rush had already advanced to 28 kilometers west of the Dorai River. The highly mobile vanguard forces pierced through the central Western Alliance main force with several radiating attack lines, continuously breaking through into the depths of the Western Alliance Armored Group and executing a wide-ranging encirclement to the rear.

In front of these fast-moving forces, the defeated Western Alliance Soldiers fled in droves across the hills and fields.

The chaos spread like the shockwave of an explosion, radiating in all directions centering on the first wave of attacked units such as the 1st and 2nd Groups of the 81st Division. The Western Alliance units that attempted to establish a blockade line in the rear were repeatedly overrun, and in the end, the situation became utterly irreparable.

”Advance!”

Pereira, full of vigor, waved his arm. Countless Feiyang Mecha strode by the Command Mecha, roaring towards the west where the cannon fire was deafening.

The distant mountains were already aglow with the light of energy cannon and fire.

With everything going like a hot knife through butter, Pereira found himself unable to express his feelings in words.

Having been a soldier for over twenty years, rising step by step from a grassroots officer to the position of deputy commander of the 33rd Army, Pereira considered himself a skilled hand at warfare.

The strongest 1st Division of the 33rd Army was the unit he personally led as division commander. Even in Feiyang, where great generals abound and elite units are numerous, Pereira held a reputable name, and the Aviation Marine Corps 331st Division was undoubtedly a first-rate main force.

However, all this pride and self-confidence had been thrown to the winds. Only today had he discovered what a true great general and a true powerful army are!

Compared to the two armored divisions of the Bandit Army, the 33rd Army was simply a rabble of undisciplined militia!

This battle didn’t even really require the use of the 33rd Army. The entire three Feiyang Armored Divisions and the five Chuckna Armored Groups along with two Mechanical Infantry Groups gathered from Frenso Town, were effectively just following in the Bandit Army’s wake for a rapid march.

Under General Tian’s command of the Bandit Army, the army split into two routes, with the Second Armored Division maneuvering southward along the Dorai River and the First Division advancing straight through the central route. The two arrows splintered into seven or eight units, quickly disappearing into the mountains, advancing along their designated routes. When the enemy’s leading units reached within five kilometers of the Dorai River, each unit had already approached their respective targets.

It was followed by a simultaneous thunderous strike.

The Bandit Army’s formidable combat power fully manifested at that moment. Neither the black Devil Mecha nor the green Fatty Mecha were forces the regular Western Alliance Armored Forces could withstand. The trailing units only needed to continually advance, and advance again.

The enemies in front, under the assault of the Bandit Army, could not withstand more than ten minutes. No matter how dense the formation or steep the high ground, in the face of those lightning-fast, tiger-like fierce, and fox-like cunning green Mechas, they were useless.

Moreover, from start to finish, the Bandit Army maintained control over the battle’s tempo. They gave the enemy no time to stabilize their formation.

They maneuvered, sliced, continually separating enemy forces attempting to gather into isolated islands that couldn’t communicate, constantly utilizing rapid advancement, and driving, even it could be said coercing, the defeated army to swiftly break through the hastily established blockade lines of the rear enemy.

This was a true blitzkrieg. From pre-battle deployment, marching, to entering the attack position with precision timing, to attack, rapid advancement, and precise cutting, the Bandit Army executed the blitzkrieg to its utmost. The clear division of labor between the vanguard and main forces, the seamless cooperation, left the chaotic enemy unable to organize any resistance.

Pereira could only express admiration for General Tian’s command artistry.

Though Vice Admiral Fatty had significant advantages in SkyNet System intelligence and combat power, being able to calculate in advance the enemy units’ positions at the moment of attack during such a high-speed head-on advance, completing large-scale maneuvering deployment in advance, and then quickly directing forces to expand the results after launching the attack, required an unimaginable level of simulation ability!

With such command skills and such powerful forces, Pereira firmly believed that if the entire human world were a vast land, Fatty could definitely bring the fiery war into the capital Sedon of the Binart Empire!

Neither Bellif nor Mikami Yuto could stop him!

Pereira even thought that without enough Judgers, even Sobel couldn’t block the Bandit Army’s path!

Regarding the battle on the Phoenix City west line, Pereira no longer had any worries. He firmly believed that in the next twenty-some hours, he only needed to follow Fatty, capturing city after city, stronghold after stronghold, and the Leifeng Star Front Army would welcome a massive and dazzling victory!

It’s hard to imagine what the scene would be like when this force crosses the Six Major Battlezones and appears behind the Northern Group Army main forces of Bellif.

As long as Sunset Mountain can hold for 24 hours!
