Chapter 1479: Chapter 9 Volume 16: Before the Great Battle

”...Leifeng Star Army’s judgment. The Northern Group Army of Bellif, after completing troop assembly and tactical deception, employed the tactic of attacking east to hit west. With the force of three Armored Divisions and one Judger Armor Company (squadron), they launched a blitz attack on Frenso Town, breaking through our defensive line at once, creating the illusion of a key breakthrough with flanking encirclements...”

In the large operation discussion room on the twelfth floor of the Chuckna Military Department building, it was filled with senior officers of the alliance forces from various countries.

On the front podium of the shell-shaped hall, Admiral Chuckna, Feng Zhi, was pointing with a pointer at a hovering virtual combat map, explaining the situation on Leifeng Star. As Feng Zhi explained and moved the pointer back and forth over the red and blue arrows on the map, the officers in the discussion room wore stern expressions, whispering to each other and debating.

”...And their real target is here,” Feng Zhi’s pointer directed north of Frenso Town: ”Sunset Mountain!”

The discussion volume in the room suddenly intensified at this moment, the room filled with noise. Some officers were shaking their heads, others nodding, some pointing at the virtual map and discussing quietly with their peers, while some were outright arguing.

”How could it be Sunset Mountain? Isn’t the Western Alliance overdoing it?”

”Our Fei Alliance Joint Army in Sunset Mountain has an entire ten divisions, and the defense line has been fortified the longest. Since the Western Alliance can break through Frenso Town, they could directly deploy forces for a piercing attack and expand to the flanks. Even if Phoenix City’s west line is breached, why would they bother with Sunset Mountain and end up bloodying their noses?”

”I think the Leifeng Star Army’s judgment is correct. See, the premise of Bellif launching this offensive lies in the concealed troop assembly. It’s possible for them to have secretly concentrated three divisions in the Frenso Town direction, but this doesn’t mean they could concentrate twenty divisions here without being discovered. However, west of Sunset Mountain is a good spot.”

”I agree. Geographically, Sunset Mountain is more suitable for mass troop operations. Although Frenso Town is easy to attack, just twenty kilometers east, it abruptly narrows at Half Cloud Ridge. If they cannot break through Half Cloud Ridge in a short time and it turns into a stalemate, even if Bellif had forty divisions, they could only go up one or two at a time. Rather, it’s better to use this as cover for Sunset Mountain.”

”Bellif’s tactics are grand and imposing. They’ve seized the initiative, striking right at General Chen Fengxi’s weakness. The war situation on Leifeng Star has long been a tiger-riding dilemma. The Western Alliance now has more than double our forces after their reinforcements all this time. We can’t attack effectively, and holding on is akin to slow death. They’ve grasped this, so whether they attack Sunset Mountain or Frenso Town, it doesn’t matter much. The key is, the Western Alliance has completed the most critical troop preparation...”

”That’s right! Our army only realized Bellif’s intention after losing Frenso Town, and it’s too late to adapt. The Resk Main Army’s defense of Phoenix City’s west line was already strenuous, and now that Bellif seized the initiative, even with Judger involvement, they have the upper hand no matter how they fight.”

Amidst the differing opinions, Old Marshal Li Cunxin’s voice emerged from the front of the hall: ”Is this the judgment of the Leifeng Star Army Command? What does the bandit army say?”

As if under a silencing spell, the uproar in the discussion room vanished without a trace.

The officers looked at each other, each with a heart startled.

Yes, and there’s the bandit army! How could we have overlooked these fellows!

It’s a group that cannot be reasoned with conventional logic. Just hours ago, they annihilated Auben’s Dragon Rider Fleet, achieving a miraculous victory! Because the time was so short, this news hasn’t spread yet. However, everyone knows it won’t be long before the entire Fei Alliance will be in an uproar because of it.

As the public celebrates, they probably wouldn’t even dream that the bandit army’s greatest strength lies not in their fleet, but in their Army Armored Division. Their target wasn’t Auben, encountered along the way, but rather the Su Jie Alliance Army fiercely attacking Phoenix City’s west line. Auben’s demise was merely because he stood in the bandit army’s path and was casually eliminated.

No one knows exactly how many Judgers the Western Alliance has. But everyone knows the bandit army has five hundred newly minted ”Rampages,” has ”Rangers” that can easily defeat Faset’s 31st Army’s Tenth and Eleventh Generation Mecha, numerous War Gods, and countless Level 9 and Level 10 Mecha Warriors.

If Bellif wants to capture Phoenix City’s west line, they must first overcome the bandit army!

”This judgment was made jointly by the bandit army and the Leifeng Star Army Command,” Feng Zhi replied to Li Cunxin’s question with a slight smile: ”Clearly, they’ve reached a consensus.”

Hearing Feng Zhi’s answer, the officers present all felt a bit relieved in their hearts.

Such stubbornness from the bandit army isn’t something everyone can accept.

Their unique style and their origins always leave them in a state of distrust. Especially their unconventional commander, even with astonishing achievements in Leray, Mars Free World, Longbow Star System, and Canglang Star, is still belittled and ignored due to his unpredictability.

Old Marshal Li Cunxin once said, whoever trusts this Fatty enough, the Fatty could return him ten or hundredfold rewards.
